Brooke was nowhere Edward could find her, unless he searched behind a rather large tree. 'Shhh...' she thought to him as she examined the large herd of deer in front of her. He had already spooked them when he took down the buck and she wasn't going to let that happen again. She found the largest doe of the herd and with a graceful pounce the doe was dead before the other deer could figure out what had happened.
The deer was drained of it's blood as the other deer ran away as fast as they could, this wasn't fast enough and with yet another graceful leap another doe was down. Brooke was a graceful as her preferred prey and at three times their speed it was hard for them to run away. She drained the second one just in time to see the herd running back at her as they were chased by a large wild cat. She was in the trees immediately as the large animal caught a deer and began to devour it.

'Shhh...'
Edward saw her as he quickly turned around. And as soon as he sensed danger he too leaped in a tree opposite of Brooke's tree. He looked down at the ground and saw the wild cat attack and kill the doe...Edward got a got a good glimpse of the cat...That was no ordinary mountain lion...Edward raised an eye brow...But soon the cat was gone....And when he sensed the danger was gone he leaped down from the tree....And investigated the area to make sure the place was safe...."Don't move from that spot...I'll see if it is clear...." He dashed away from Brooke...Leaving her hopefully safe in the tree....
As he walked a ways deeper into the jungle he sensed the wild cat was close and he stopped walking. Before he knew it he was attacked from behind as some thing huge, leaped on his back making him fall off a huge cliff! After tumbling so far down he was able to skid himself at a stop with his hand! He looked back up at the cliff....And saw nothing. Edward returned to Brooke....She would at once see the claw marks on shirt....The shirt was obviously ruined by the claw marks...."What ever it was...It's gone..." |

Brooke watched Edward with worried eyes as he went down to investigate. When she could no longer see him she used her hearing and gasped loudly as she heard him fall off the cliff. "Edward!" she shouted and it took all her might not to go after him but she knew he would be angry if she put herself in danger as well. She heard him get back up and let out a sigh of relief.
When he rejoined her she wrapped her arms around him in a tight hug, "You scared the hell out of me you idiot..." it was evident she had been worried he would get hurt. "Don't do that again, please." she all but begged.

As soon as he arrived back she hugged him tightly...She was obviously scared for his life.... "You scared the hell out of me you idiot..." Yeah she was....."Don't do that again, please."
"I promise...I'm sorry. It was just a big cat...."
he brushed the dirt and grass off his shirt...As he bent down and sucked the buck dry of blood and stood up right again. "Be right back..." He said, and in a flash he was gone again...And caught some thing else to eat. Another deer...He though drug the dead animal back for him and her. "Still hungry? I'm afraid this is the only 'picnic' we'll ever have...." He replied as he let go of the deer...Back in his mind there was that certain piece of information he wanted to tell her. Some thing that he had kept from her that was making him sick....He didn't know how Brooke was going to respond to the news he had to tell her....
Edward bent down to the deer and grabbed a part of the neck and sucked some of the blood. He needed to get full if not his weakness would be to kill....And he couldn't do that...He was not going to be that monster he was suppose to be...And even his family and Bella knew that....But Brooke knew enough to know that if he did not get what he needed, he would try and kill....Even if his right buttons were pushed to kill....He would. He hated to see the death of a human. Maybe cause it had a lot to do with his past when he was still human...When he was dying himself...That still bothered him....

Brooke shook her head as he drank from the deer. She felt an odd atmosphere around him, her years of dating had given her the small ability to realize someones behavior and the snail changes in it. Did something change between them after they had slept together? She was confused slightly, impossible she would know if he suddenly changed his mind. She frowned as she watched him for a second before deciding to ask him.
'What's wrong?' she thought, 'Did you change your mind?' she was worried as she looked at him. Her eyes had turned back into their former bright golden color and the bruises under her eyes were gone as well.

'What's wrong?' 'Did you change your mind?' As he finished he stood back up and looked her in her eyes...As he placed his palm on her cheek...."No...I didn't change my mind sweet heart. You're it...But there is some thing else..." He knew this might be hard for her to hear. But she had to know what had taken place right before he met her....
"The Volturi has found out about Bella still being human...They have made me a proposal...That they won't kill her if I....Join their coven..." He looked down and turned away from her as he placed his hands on his hips and looked down....He told Aro yes the night he thought he was going to die. Because the Volturi rarely give out second chances. But with Edward in their coven, which is some thing Aro has been wanting for a while now, would be the only option to save Bella from death. Edward looked down....As he heard the quietness behind him....What would Brooke think about this?

Brooke was relieved he hadn't changed his mind but was in a state of shock when he told her he was joining the Volturi. Up until recently she hated the Volturi, and her meeting Olivia had made her hatred diminish slightly but she still couldn't believe what had had told her. She was silent for a moment. 'Say something Brooke... he is going to think this changes things.... Does it change things? No... I love him, even if he joins the Volturi... It's just that simple...' she thought to herself.
She walked over to him and wrapped her arms around his chest from behind. She placed her chin on his shoulder and rested it there. "If you had to do it for her safety then okay..." she told him, "I understand and I would have done the same if I had to choose between the Volturi and letting a human live." she sighed lightly, "Does this mean you have to be human drainer now?" she asked.

Did she forget he could read minds? Because she was talking in her mind about him right now. He just sighed silently. But then heard and felt foot steps. She came close from behind him and wrapped her arms from behind to the front of his chest...And rested her head on his shoulder. He sighed louder now. As his head lowered...

And he lowered his head again even lower...That last question that she asked...Was not answered yet....Aro said nothing....
"I don't know....I don't want to become....that..." Edward just let a heavy breath escape his lips...You would see the breath out of his mouth....It was chilly at night and it was in the middle of October any way...But he was not cold. It just looked like he was.
The thought of killing humans made Edward sick to his stomach even more. Now that Brooke has asked that. He's not killed a human since he was a new born. But still it deeply itched his mind. That satisfaction taste of human blood....Would please his taste buds. No...He can't do that. He can't go against his families rules. If Edward did make the decision to become a human drainer then he would have no choice but to leave the Culllen's for good...This was hard enough for him as it was. And now that Brooke knew about it. He knew she would probably try and stop him....But the deal is sealed....And there is no going back....
"You know once you make a deal with them...That there is no going back....I'm sorry..." He never turned around and looked at her as he lowered his head even more then...

"I know..." Brooke said softly, "It doesn't make me love you any less darling..." she added just as soft. "You are putting someone else's life above your own and I respect you for that." she told him and she kissed his neck gently. "No matter what happens with this I am yours as long as you want me, not even being a member of the Volturi could change that."
"Though it may be a bit harder to find a wardrobe to match red eyes." she said in a joking tone. "But in all seriousness... I am not allowed in their Castle....I guess I will have to find a place to stay in Volterra that isn't too far away from it." she squeezed him gently for a moment, hoping he would get that she was okay with his choice.

His skin shuddered from the soft kiss she gave him on his neck....As he let out a soft breath...He closed his eyes and shut them tightly...As his eye brows furrowed....He hated this...That he was going to be tore from her...."No matter what happens with this I am yours as long as you want me, not even being a member of the Volturi could change that."

No matter what she said and even if she was trying to lighten the moment, nothing would cheer him up. He just stood there in silence when she said tat wardrobe remark...That didn't even make him smile...He wanted to. But he was so sad right now. "But in all seriousness... Edward had to tell her....That she would have a place in Port Angele's....That was when he looked up and opened his eyes back up as he turned around and looked her in the eyes and took both of her hands in his...."When I'm here at the States...There is a manor in Port Angele's.....He's giving me a room there....And he said you are welcome to come there and stay with me. Brooke....You know about the Halloween Ball they are holding....I was wondering if you'd do me the honor as going as my date....? If you're there with me, I'll be worry free of any thing....I'd feel better...." That was another thing he wanted he ask...Boy want the Volturi be surprised to see him with Brooke instead of Bella...That might raise questions to other Volturi members....But Edward didn't care...Aro knew....And that would be enough to keep him from getting into fights.... |

"Well, that is a plus..." Brooke muttered, "Where do I stay while you aren't in the states?" she asked him. "And are you really asking me if I will go with you because I think we both know the answer darling." she said playfully, "Of course I will go with you, nothing would make me happier than being your date." she answered him softly.
She set a hand on his cheek gently and smiled at genuine smile, "Can we please lighten up? We had a fantastic day and I am not letting you get down if I can help it." she told him. "We could always go back to that cabin and 'talk' for a few hours." when she said the word talk it was obvious she meant anything but talk.

He smiled slightly...."Of course I will go with you, nothing would make me happier than being your date." She then placed her hand on his cheek which made him feel a lot better and he was actually smiling....It was hard on her. He knew that much. That he was not an out going guy like she was probably used to.
"Can we please lighten up? We had a fantastic day and I am not letting you get down if I can help it." she told him. "We could always go back to that cabin and 'talk' for a few hours." He chuckled finally...He knew what she meant...."Yeah...My family knows where I am now....So they'll stop worrying about me. We can do that if you want. I'm just glad you understand..." He placed his hand on her cheek like she did him but only pulled her close to where his lips were so barely touching hers again. As he pressed his lips against hers again....And with his other hand wrapping around her waist pulling her closer...He was so much in love with her. More in love with her now than before. Because she was caring and understanding about what he was doing for Bella....And even if Bella would not understand why he was doing this...He knew Brooke did....

"Of course I understand darling." Brooke told him before their lips met again. She kissed him back passionately and had to force herself to pull away, "If we continue this I might have you stripped down before we reach the cabin, dear." she joked. "You didn't catch me the first time let's see if you can this time." she winked and she ran off in a flash back towards the cabin.
'If you catch me there might be a prize in it for you.' she thought, before she was gone entirely.

Edward smiled big as he let his eye brow ease upwards at what she just said. That was not really a bad thing. They were indeed deep in the woods with no one around...
"You didn't catch me the first time let's see if you can this time."
'If you catch me there might be a prize in it for you.' With that said it was it. Edward was off like a shot! He was a lot faster then last time. Since he had his meal he wanted he was feeling a lot better too. One thing about blood it had a bit of sugar in it. That give you such a rush that makes you wanna be faster and quicker...And maybe sneakier....
He was catching up to her. Rather she liked it or not. He was very fast as Esme pointed out at one time. And pretty soon they were nearing the cabin again...But right before she would even get close enough to that door he was right in front if her! And for once he didn't even cheat like he did with Bella once....But she was human...He couldn't help himself....He grabbed her arms so she could not go any where else! "Not so fast sweet heart..." He said in a teasing way....As he was holding her from going any further.... ((Hope this is okay^^)) |

"Damn... It looks like you won..." Brooke said in a fake pouty tone as she removed her arms from his grip to wrap them around his neck to hold him close. "Now as for your prize.... I'm going to let you decide what you get." she told said slyly as she ruffled his hair slightly, not that it needed help looking a mess, he made his hair look like that. She kissed him lightly before pulling away.
"Come on handsome." she said with a wink and she she was gone. 'Hurry up Edward, you know I hate waiting.' she thought. She was inside waiting on the couch for him.
