Strumming her acoustic, cherry wood guitar from her perch in the window of the apartment, Kaylee’s grin cracked up her porcelain cheeks easily. Her pale golden were as bright as they could be, though the outside world was the complete opposite. Rain drops fell so easily and quickly from the sky, pelting down on the lake top- disturbing the peaceful body as it tried to be. No negative thoughts were present in the tiny flat, much less in Kaylee’s head as her fingers glided across the tight strings.
Work came naturally nowadays, and she had no complaints. Working at the bar was fun enough, but eventually she would have to find another job- somewhere else. She would have to move on, like the other vampires she had been told about. They roam over the earth, moving when it was time and never growing attached to any place. Her internal workings were much different than theirs, and she was unsure if she would ever be able to leave this place. Humans were not horrible, and they certainly did not deserve to be killed. Her manager and her fellow employees were just that- humans, and kind humans at that. They made her nights at work enjoyable. Smiling a little more as she thought of what he night would be bringing her, Kaylee felt satisfaction filling her empty chest.
The melody she had been creating eased into silence and she continued sitting in her window sill, casting her gaze upon the rainy world of Seattle. She was waiting for something to spark her interests, perhaps someone who could entertain her and sit with her on days like this, before she had to go off to work. Someone who would be there when she got home from class and someone who would be waiting for her when she got off of work at all hours of the morning. Would someone ever come to love a thing like her?
She pushed the darkness away easily, continuing to smile out at the rainy, steamy lake- eventually allowing her eyes to wander to any passerby who dared be out in the rain.
