[/b] he asked approaching her carefully but easily. Toni didn’t want to scare her off right away. He stood easily, hands deep in the pockets of his jeans, and turned his eyes away from the girl to look around the café, waiting patiently for an answer. Or a brush-off. He’d work easy with both.
`` He was bored. And that really, really, really was not a good thing. And to top it all he was hungry. Starving actually. He hadn’t fed in a while. Toni couldn’t remember the last time he had gone so long without food. It didn’t suit him. Stuff like that never did. He was a blood-sucker and proud as hell of it. So he kept himself well fed. Most of the time. There were certain occasions, like today, where he finally realized he’d been so devolved in plotting revenge that he hadn’t eaten for days. It wasn’t good for him. And he’d lot muse for plotting. Which is why he finally realized that he was hungry. Toni was pretty much a one track mind with little twists and turns. But the hunger was more an instinct, and very much so less a thought. And the instinct was overpowering now.
`` Moving to the window of his darkened apartment, Toni looked down at the streets of Port Angeles. The killings around Seattle were so obviously newborns. Even he wasn’t that stupid to leave a trail. It took weeks for the police to even realize there was a missing person when he worked. And by then it was much too late. And that was even if he killed his victim, which really wasn’t all that rare an occasion. Needless to say he did his line of work well. If you could call it as such. Outside was rainy. A perfect day to wander around looking for a snack. A meal wouldn’t be all that bad either, but the snack was perfectly fine first. Just something to quench the thirst so he wouldn’t get stupid. From the window, he concentrated on the coat hanging near the door. It moved easily as if he had picked it up and glided toward him, fitting itself over his arms as he lifted them. Toni loved his power. It was almost like his own personal servant. He didn’t even mind that it was himself controlling the invisible being that moved whatever he wanted. He did however find it annoying that he could make people move. They had wills of their own. And he couldn’t toy with that. So naturally that would piss him off. Oh well.
`` Gliding away from the window and to the door, he hardly glanced at the black raven watching his every move. Aletta had been with him for a while now and she was much more than a pet. As Toni opened the door, he lifted his gloved hand and she drifted immediately to him, perching precariously on his hand. She settled easily as she watched him, and once she had, he took off through the door and down the stairs. Out in the street, it was drizzling lightly, nothing that bugged Toni too much anyway. He had lived here for a while, long ago, and the rain never bugged him anyway. Aletta soared off above him, and he watched, putting his sunglasses on right away, even in the darkness. It was easier to hide his eyes that way too. He moved swiftly down the street, Aletta over head, smiling at a few pretty girls. Nothing smelled good enough to eat though. Girls looked, but he picked the ones that smelled the most delicious.
`` He was walking past a small café when something caught his attention. It smelled amazing. And strangely familiar. He hadn’t smelled something like that in at least seven years. He glanced at Aletta as she perched on the café roof before ducking inside. Even inside he didn’t remove his glasses, but cast his eyes around the café. Following his nose, he moved further inside, keeping his eyes out for whoever the smell was coming from. It never even occurred to him that it could be a guy giving off this smell, but it didn’t matter to him, luckily enough it wasn’t a guy. He found the scent coming from a girl sitting at the far corner of the café. Closer, she smelled good enough to eat right here and now. But he had at least a bit of self-control left. And it was with that bit that he realized why the scent was so familiar. The girl looked familiar now too. Seven years ago he’d killed her parents… going after the delicious scent of this girl. Taking a moment, to tune out instinct, he slipped a warm smile on his lips and moved forward. ”Well, well, well, what’s a pretty little thing like you doing all alone?”
