Edward looked over at her and saw her eyes change instantly....He didn't want her to leave....
"No...Don't!"
But before he could even grab her hand, she was out the door and gone! He ran out after her! It had gotten stormy out side really fast as well...."BROOKE! I know you are still here!!! It's getting to dangerous out here!! PLEASE!! Come back!" He knew she would survive.....But she was not super human....She could get trapped out here....And the trees were not happy with this storm either as they swayed crazily every where.....It would be loony to get out in this even being a vampire! "Brooke!! Please!!" He looked every where...He could smell her some where.....She was still close by....So she would be hearing his pleas for her to come back....And stay safe at least til the storm was over....He didn't want her to get hurt out here....The wind was getting more powerful and soon there was thunder and lightning in the sky above.....No vampire could run in this weather....They would be blown to the land of OZ if that place existed....Edward fell on his knees then as he just sat there....He wanted to cry so badly....But he knew that was not possible....For once he wanted his real mother back with him....He needed her advice on the situation he was in....He was scared....That if he picked Brooke, Bella would leave him for good....He was so confused it was so not funny right now! He loved two women.....This was wrecking his brain.....Now he knew how Bella was feeling....This was hard indeed....He would for now on ease off of Bella asking her to pick him....

"Edward Anthony Cullen..." Brooke said from behind him, "You know when a woman leaves like that she doesn't want to be followed..." she told him softly. The good part about being Brooke was that she had the ability to regather herself when she got away from what she couldn't handle. When she had left him she had managed to clam herself down enough to approach him again, with a smile across her features even.
"Now, can you stop worrying about me?" she asked him, "Because I am a big girl, you're not the first guy that things didn't end well with... Though after sixty-four years it is harder to deal with again." she mused. She had put up her shield, the one that protected her from heartbreak, the same shield she had let down when she was with Edward. The shield she would never lower again because it hurt too much after what had happened.
She helped him up and brought him back to the cabin, "So after tonight... I think you should go tell Bella how you feel... Tell her you love her and she means the world to you... Tell her you will turn her if that is what she wants... Do what it takes to get her back because that is how you will be happy... And all I want is for you to be happy..." the brunette told him, "It's what you do when you love someone." shield almost lowered but quickly regained itself as she smiled a big fake smile.

Edward sighed as he looked down. That was his fault....But he just couldn't help himself....

He smiled as he she said he was not the first one that had this happen to him and cocked an eye brow at her.....But he was glad she was alright....

"Okay....I'll do that.....If that makes you happy. I don't want to hurt you though if Bella picks me. I can win her back over. All I need with her is time with her..." He walked back into the cabin with her. To get her out of the storm....They were soaked to the one....He grabbed a few blankets for her and gave them to her. So she could try and get warm and dry off. He got a blanket himself...And took off his collar shirt....As he wrapped himself in the blanket. They were immortal but they both had some feelings.
"I'm sorry Brooke. For all I've done to you. I don't know what else to do...To say at this point." Edward looked down when he saw another image of Bella in his mind. He didn't want her to know that he was thinking about her. But she would probably know that now matter what was going to happen, Bella was indeed the love of his life....He shook his head and smiled a fake smile just then. This wasn't going to end well..... |

She didn't wrap herself up in the blankets, she was not longer going to take his kindness, she couldn't or she wouldn't be able to do this. "Going back to Bella will hurt me. Every second you are with her will hurt me. We both know that." she started out, she leaned against a wall and refused to look at him.
She bit her lip, she had to be harsh to him now. No matter how much it killed her to do it she had to. The more he hated her the easier it would be to leave without feelings attached if he did. "You should be sorry... I thought I toyed with emotions but we both know you have toyed with mine. You should have told me off before we got attached, before I could get the chance to get close to you." she hated those words the second the hit her tongue and she wanted to take them back, 'I shouldn't say that... it's not true...' her thoughts did the job for her.

"Save it! You're blaming me for that?! Come on from the moment you laid eyes on me, you used your power on me! How was it my fault? That I toyed with your emotions when you made me?!"
He was angry. But not at her. At what she said. It was true though, he was right. From the moment he saw her she used her power on him until yesterday....When she told him the truth. He knew this much, she was not using it right now. Cause he was indeed angry at her.....But not angry enough to have her banned from his presence....He just couldn't do that to her. No he couldn't do that to one of his friends. Especially if he has a big attachment to that person.
"You're not leaving my life that easily....."
He looked over at her. Even though she never looked up at him he looked at her. He gave her a sincere look. To let her know that he was not angry at her. How could he even begin to be mad at her? Even if she has asked him who know how many times...
"You give me a heart when I don't have one. You fill the anger in my soul....And trust me.....I had a lot." He knelt down beside her again and placed his hands on her knees...."I'm not going to make you think that there is a chance for us...Because we already have each other. Just as she has Jacob...She needed him when I was gone....And now....I need you when she is gone...." He wasn't sure how to make her see and realize that there was nothing that could ever make him hate her.....He leaned in and gave her slight kiss on her cheek..... |

Brooke set a hand on his cheek, "Je suis tellement mal." She muttered, 'I am in so much trouble." she roughly translated in her thoughts ((I say roughly because it literally means I am evil in English. XD)). "Why couldn't you just hate me like I asked?" She asked him, "You know it would be so much easier if you did, right?" she added. She was happy he didn't hate her though, she wouldn't be able to live if he hated her.
She kissed him gently, she loved him and couldn't help herself but she forced herself to pull away. "Sorry... I shouldn't have done that..." She said, if she could blush right now her cheeks would be bright red.

Edward sighed...."You know it would be so much easier if you did, right?"
Edward was not expecting her to kiss him ever again...But she did just then. He smiled after the kiss.... "Sorry... I shouldn't have done that..."
He saw her blushing and he smiled brighter. As he brushed away a strand of her hair for her....He got to touch her soft skin. He swallowed hard. "The thing is, no one knows we are we here right now. And don't be sorry. I wanted that to happen...." He gave her his sweet charming look as he looked into her eyes...As he grabbed her hand in his....He could tell that she didn't want him to hate her. He leaned closer to her as he placed his free hand on her other cheek.
He couldn't believe that she was still here....Even though her hair was drench with rain and her clothes as well, she looked beautiful to him....She was perfect. He felt his throat go dry his body then just froze on the spot. He didn't even care about any one else for a moment. It was Brooke that he saw in his mind right now.
"Come on....Just cover up with the blanket..." He rewrapped the blanket she threw on the floor around her. She would get dryer faster.....And she would feel better.... |

Brooke smiled at him, "Fine, I will cover up. You worry too much though." She said as the blanket was placed around her. "You know, it's a good thing I am a vampire or I would look terrible right now. I remember Luther always telling me I was a mess when I got out of the rain... But he loved me anyway..." she thought for a moment but she had stopped truly thinking about Luther since she had started to get closer to Edward and her past love seemed like a distant memory.
"But that doesn't matter anymore... Luther is the past, and I am presently enjoying the, well, present." She told Edward she reached for his hand, only setting it on his lightly, hoping he wouldn't pull away but still giving him the ability to.

He never pulled his hand away from hers either. She was finally showing love to him. Real love...Even though it was not hard core...He loved this so much. This was what he missed so much. To feel wanted and wanted to be around. If he had a heart right now, it would be indeed beating off the charts now. That's just how she got him. His eyes were a soft golden brown, relaxed and calm...His face was dry now as he looked at hers as he saw she was drying a lot faster than he was....He felt fine. And removed the blanket he had wrapped around himself to reveal his bare chest to her. He didn't want that to weaken her defenses...."I'm sorry, I can put my shirt back on...." He was being modest and gentle with her. He didn't want to push her to the point to where she could not control herself..... |

Brooke sighed happily and shut her eyes for a second, "Don't you think if I was going to break I would have already?" she asked him, "If I only wanted sex from you we would have had it and I'd be gone by now, we both know that." she stated simply, "Not that I would mind it, but I am good without it too." she added.
Her fingers intertwined in his slowly as she laid her head against the wall behind her. She smiled at him, "Gee, I think you cured me Mr. Cullen... I don't feel like I need sex right now..." she mused.

"Feels nice to just be liked doesn't it? There's more to a love than just sex....There's chemistry the couple shares. You gotta know what makes your partner happy. With me, this is fine. Just having some one close to me. You don't know how long I've been alone in this world...It makes you sick...When your siblings have their soul mates and you are the only one....Then, I met..." He shut up right then. He was not sure mentioning Bella was going to be a good idea any more....Yes he always loved Bella...But as of right here and now he was with Brooke and that's all that mattered to him...
He wanted her happy....and he was trying his best to keep her that way. He just left his shirt off then...When she said that if she wanted him that badly she would've already done it and would've done been gone.....He let her intertwine her fingers with his...As he smiled sweetly at her....The storm was still going on out side....Even if they got hungry, they would just have to go out on a hunt together...It was that simple....He scooted himself closer to her and leaned his head against the wall as well....But then his head found itself on her shoulder....They were together and not alone....That counted for some thing....
"Brooke.....I love you...." He couldn't help himself....He loved Broke and he loved Bella...But it was Brooke now not Bella....Bella was not here to sooth his pain....She said she needed time to heal....Well Edward was gonna give Bella just that....

Brooke's head slid down the wall until it rested on top of his head. She choose to ignore the insinuating Bella part to what he had said and smiled, "I love you too." she told him, "though I must ask while the topic is up.... Edward, are you a virgin? Not that it matters but it would explain a bit." she asked him, "Is that why you are afraid of me using my power on you? You don't want to give it up?" she was only teasing him.
She smiled at slightly as she took in his scent, a scent she had grown to love. She squeezed his hand slightly and settled down once more. Somewhere deep inside she knew she was just a replacement for Bella, she knew who he loved the most but strangely enough she didn't mind it. The girl who never lost her 'prey' didn't mind that she was second to Bella.

Edward blinked and lifted his head up when she asked that....He's never had sex....So uh...yeah....He hated admitting that! But she had asked him kindly. And they were alone....no one else would know. "Um...Yeah...I am. I was saving it for some one actually...But that's looking slim...." He said that low in her ear.
He was scared she was going to use him when they first met now....That he looked at it. He should've been scared. He was saving himself for Bella...Now, he was not so sure that was gonna happen. There was that one time when he first kissed Isabella. But he thought he was going to lose control over her. And he stopped himself. "I was ready though for you to just take it...You wanted so much for me to hate you...I thought it didn't matter." |

Brooke looked him in the eye with a small, cheeky smile, "It does matter, Edward. It's a big thing to lose that. If I had known I wouldn't have chased after you that way." she told him, "Well, now that I know you are waiting for her I will back off." she said calmly before settling her head back against the wall and shutting her eyes.
"Though taking that would give you a bigger reason to hate me, especially since you are waiting for her." she admitted, "Too bad I can't let you hate me." she said, her smile faded and she began to relax slowly. "It's all good Edward." she muttered.

Edward looked up at her....She was right about that. That would definitely piss him off. "Too bad I can't let you hate me." "It's all good Edward."
"Then kiss me. If you can control this then you can be in control with any one. We both know that this might not last. So if you want some thing to remember me by, kiss me."
Edward took a gulp in the back of his throat. As he leaned up and looked at her. He could do some thing that would make her hate him instead....Place her in a trance. But he was not so sure he wanted to do that. She did it with him with her power and that would not be nice if he turned around and just used that trick all vampires knew how to do when they wanted to lure their victim. But he couldn't do that to her. "Just one passionate kiss. Put your hands any where....And if you can't control it. I'll stop you...I promise..." He said that while moving closer and closer to her...He wanted her to kiss him so badly it was aching him. His words were so soothing and relaxing the way he was talking to her...He was testing her. But then again. He wanted to be kissed. As he placed a hand on her hair and swiped over and tucked it behind her ear. "You can't sit there and tell me you don't want this..." He said that so low as his lips almost touched hers. |
