Kylie stood there, trying to catch her breath. She had just run through the forest as fast as she could. Not because she was running away, but because for the first time in a very long time she could just run. No more running away, she thought to herself, There's nothing for me to run from. The thought made her smile to herself. Finally, she was content, and things seemed to be going well. Things with Bobby were better than they had ever been, and she found a place she belonged and that she didn't have to be alone or hide...
Just as Kylie was about to slip into the memories of her life before this, she noticed she couldn't hear anything. Complete silence, nothing to be heard for what felt like millions of miles. The wind and trees fell were motionless and nonexistant, and the ocean appeared to have completely fallen still. She could hear her own heart racing, but there was a second heartbeat in exact time with hers. Kylie suddenly realized she wasn't at all alone....
