In-depth Analysis
Personality:
Nathaniel is an eccentric fellow, who believes in the supernatural but as yet hasn't seen evidence of anything. He's superstitious and suspicious yet very extroverted and arrogant. He likes to argue even when everyone around him believes there's no way he could be right. He is also fiercely loyal to those who manage to make it into his tight circle, and usually only accepts any sort of counsel from those select few.
He's very inquisitive and likes to study things in depth. He tends to focus on one subject at a time and doesn't move on until he knows everything there is to know about that subject. He is also quite moody.
Detailed history:
Nathaniel Bristow, no middle name, was born on September 30th to Lia and Charles Bristow. He was of Native American and English descent and has lived all his life in the small, boring town of Forks. His grandfather lives in England, and his father fell in love with his mother whilst studying at a local university. He hasn't left Forks since, much to Nate's disappointment.
Nathaniel wasn't always unhappy in Forks, when he was younger he thought such a small and friendly town was great. Then, at 14, he started paying regular visits to his Grandfather in England, as well as other relatives in various parts of the UK. He found that not everyone was as friendly as the folks in Forks. He experienced mugging, drugs, biased media and various other street crime.
Those experiences... left their mark. Returning to Forks, things seemed unreal. How could people be so genuinely friendly? He became suspicious of everything, wondering what caused it. He has his theories, perhaps some sort of spell over the town - given that he is also superstitious you see - but he hasn't found anything to prove the stories yet. The fact that the quileutes refuses to integrate fully with the town raised his suspicions further.
Now, aged 18 and attending Forks High School, Nathaniel isn't sure how he feels about Forks. He wants to find out what the towns secret is, but also he wants to get out of there as soon as possible. To somewhere not as off-key.
Fears:
Nate fears losing people he gets close to. He also fears intimacy. Being surrounded by extremely nice people his whole life makes him wonder how genuine people really are, and he likes to test people to see how much they genuinely care about him before letting them in. However, the tests are exhausting and once he lets them in, he hopes his new found friends would stay as he doesn't like the idea of letting them go after all that effort.
He's also afraid of losing himself. He likes to think he's quite unique and stands out from his fellow neighbours at Forks, he's happy being known as the 'weird kid'. He's afraid that if he lets in the wrong sort of people, or gains too many friends in Forks he'll become like them and lose his uniqueness.
Strengths:
One of Nate's strength's is being innovative. He likes to think about things from all angles and likes to think as outside of the box as he can get. He likes to try many different ways of doing the same thing and to experiment.
From being so innovative, Nate has also learnt to be very accepting of diversity. This is possibly one of the reasons he's so sure there's magic in the world.
In terms of physical strengths, Nate is a strong student, articulate. He's also a dancer, which makes him fast, agile and flexible.
Weaknesses:
Nate is actually physically weak, having no interest in the more butch sports that would build muscle or put any power behind any attack he would make on someone else.
Nate is also quite bad at making and keeping friends. His changeable moods mean his friends tire of his changing attitudes towards them and suspiciousness quickly.
Likes:
Nate likes art, nature, water especially. He loves cheese and quite a big fan of electro/dubstep or most music with a heavy bassline and not a lot of singing.
Dislikes:
He dislikes overly friendly people, they make him instantly suspicious. He also dislikes being questioned

Roleplay sample:
Nate peered out the window of his living room of his one floor bungalow. It was raining heavily and his parents weren't home yet. It was strange behaviour for them, his mum should have been back hours ago to start dinner, and if she had to leave urgently, she usually left a note or a message on the machine. Not that Nate was worried, of course not, he didn't worry. His parents weren't stupid...
Still. It wasn't normal behaviour for them. He considered, for a moment phoning the sheriff's office. They were usually on top of most disappearances moments after they happened, right? They would be able to check his dad's office, or his mum's nursery... or they would laugh, it wasn't dark yet.
Perhaps he could phone the hospital? If they weren't back yet there was a high chance it was because they were hurt right? Well, all the same, Nate knew one thing, he wasn't going to be able to take waiting around for them to come home much longer.
He grabbed his phone from the top of the mantle, shoving it in the pocket of his black cargo pants and grabbing a grey hoody from the coat hooks next to his front door. He'd very nearly shut the door on himself when he remembered two things. One, write a note in case his parents came back whilst he was gone and two, house keys in case he came back before his parents did....[/blockquote]
