In-depth Analysis

Personality:
Calm - Like a gentle breeze, Catherine moves through life with ease and allows her visions to guide her. She is rarely caught off-guard and every step she takes is always precise. Having finished the newborn phase many years ago, she has come to accept her new life as a vampire.

Intelligent
However, do not mistake her easy-going personality as a cover-up for stupidity or a lack of independency. Catherine is, and has always been, naturally intelligent. Having achieved top marks in school as a teenager, she has since continued her education by traveling around the world, studying different cultures and becoming extremely well-read. The only thing she hasn't done is graduate from a top college, and yet, she even plans on conquering that challenge soon enough.

Independent- Ms. DuPont is also very independent. Having lived on her own since the age of 21, she has become accustomed to taking care of herself and not becoming attached to others. Unfortunately, she has acquired a sense of not trusting others which people may believe is due to arrogance. And yet, she finds that this lack of trust is actually due to past relationships she has had where she has been repeatedly lied to.

Caring- While it is extremely hard to befriend her, once you are accepted, Catherine opens up to being extremely caring and loyal. For example, she is currently the nanny to a small family that lives on the outskirts of London with three small children, all of whom Catherine cares for on a daily basis.

Detailed history: On a cold night in Janurary, 1896, Catherine became the youngest child to Mary Beth DuPont and James DuPont. With a head full of beautiful dark hair and a striking pair of moose brown eyes, she was spoiled from the moment her parents' had held her. As the only girl in the family (her older brother being her only sibling), she learned at a young age how an enticing smile could lend her anything that she wanted.

However, even though she was spoiled and grew up in a high class family in New York City, her mother had taught her all morals and manners that a young lady was expected to have. Not once had Catherine acted out in public or refused to aid someone in need of help. In fact, by the time she was 18 and the war had begun, she had already volunteered as a nurse at a nearby hospital.

At this point, Catherine had traded pearls for bandages and ballgowns for blood-stained skirts. However, she had never complained and knew that her place was beside the beds of soldiers, who like her brother, were fighting to protect the U.S. It was at this hospital, alongside one blood-stained beside where she had met her fiancee, Jackson. A witty young man at the age of 24, Jackson was something out of a fairytale. With marble white skin and the speed of a cheetah, his model-like-figure caused all of the other nurses to stare in envy. And yet, no matter how popular he became, no doctor was able to diagnosis the marks...almost bite marks...that ravaged his neck.

It is these same marks that now run down Catherine's neck in a similar pattern, having almost caused her to die in a dark alley not far away from her house. While the details are still unclear, Catherine only remembers leaving her family's dinner with Jackson by her side, the couple only stopping for a second after an argument had ensued which caused Jackson's anger to morph into violence.

About three days later, Catherine awoke on a stolen hospital bed, under the care of a certain Carlisle Cullen and family in their basement. Afraid and confused, Catherine followed their every instruction until she gained the strength to travel on her own. At this point, the Cullen Clan had grown to large for her comfort and she left in the middle of the night, leaving a note explaining her absence and expressing her gratitude on their counter.

Since those events nearly 80 years ago, Catherine has traveled across the world and worked various jobs. However, she is currently on vacation from her job as a nanny to visit Forks, the rumored location of the Cullens.

Physical Appearance

Facial appearance: With a petite, oval shaped face, Catherine attracts many admirers. Her complexion is clear and ghost-white which is offset by her extremely dark eyebrows and sunken eyes, the most unique feature of her face. Her natural eye color as a human was moose brown, but now since the transformation, her eye color is usually a striking gold color. Finally, her nose comes to a delicate point on her face which is then overtaken by the slight pucker of her small lips. To a passerby, she most likely resembles a porcelin babydoll.

Clothing: Simple, dark clothing is what she prefers. She usually avoids overly bright colors because she does not want to draw attention to herself (though her beauty makes this almost unavoidable). Also, does not value money as much as others so her clothing is usually nondescript.

Build: Petite, light and quick, her body is the shape of a young woman who grew up in a time period where women were beginning to gain their independence. She naturally holds her shoulders back and her face is usually tipped up, which gives her an appearance of self-importance.

Marks/scars: Like a faded tatoo, crescent shaped bite marks run up and down the side of her neck. However, they are purposefully hidden by her long, brown hair that weaves it's way down her neck and onto her shoulders.
Species appearance: As a vampire, her skin is naturally white and similar to marble. Cold 24/7, Catherine resembles the normal traits of a vampire with remarkable beauty.

In a low crouch, Catherine peered over the shrub, staring at the large house infront of her. With a flick of her wrist, she let the branch fly back and shake the shrub infront of her. "Gone." she whispered as she captured the scent around her, a scent lacking of any Vampire evidence within the past few months.
Slowly standing up, she put her hands on her hips and looked up at the tree covering, "Now what?" she asked herself outloud. Sighing, she ran her hands through her hair but froze when she heard a rustling movement from behind her.
Instantly, she sunk low into a defensive position with her teeth bared, ready to fight the intruder.
