Antonio Valentino De LucaCharacter Play-by: Dougie Poynter
name: ~ Antonio Valentino De Luca (goes by Toni) age: ~ looks 35 // really 228 gender: ~ Male orientation: ~ Straight race: ~ Vampire (human blood) birthplace: ~ Venice, Italy current location: ~ Forks, Washington occupation: ~ Journalist
personality: As an overall first impression, Antonio comes off as an extremely outgoing person. He immediately makes people feel at home. He’s very kind and seems to live by “chivalry isn’t dead”. He’s open enough to some strangers (more often than not his food) but is wise enough to answer vaguely and keep most information to himself. He is, as first, very laid back and welcoming. If nothing else, his entire demeanor is extremely alluring.
Upon hanging around Toni for more than a few minutes, one would see he’s an extremely intriguing person. Once getting to know him, he comes off a more so the bad boy. He suddenly becomes extremely unruly and a bit rebellious. He shows off as much as possible with his guitar or with the skills he’s gained over the years and flaunts his knowledge at every possible moment. Antonio also makes it a point to show off just how well trained his Aletta is. When around him like this, it gets extremely obvious that some sort of inner rebel has just been unleashed to show off the cool, collected, show-offish nature.
If you’re alive long enough to get through to Antonio, you’ll find that he isn’t as secure as he seems to be. In all reality, Toni is an extremely kind person, but doesn’t have much patience anymore for the living. He had a very strong sense of betrayal and injustice from all living people, most of which is directed as his younger brother Dante. Despite this, though, Toni still keeps a grudging respect that he’ll never admit to for his brother and care for the last of his immediate family. Much of this betrayal is the fuel for the raging hatred inside of him for shifters, predominantly the Catori’s, from whom he believed he was betrayed the most. From this anger burns the love of being a vampire and the power he has, but in the deeper parts of him mind, he fears having to give it up, and fears most dying from it. detailed history: Antonio was third born of the De Luca family. He was born in Italy and was only five when his parents packed them up and moved to the land of opportunity right after the Revolutionary War. As a young boy, Toni was always very curious about the future and wished more times than he cared to count that he’d be able to see it. Though he and Dante were the closest in age, they weren’t the closest at heart. Even though the two boys had their differences, Antonio was still extremely protective of his only younger brother.
As the United States grew, Toni and the rest of the De Luca family moved westward with the growth. It wasn’t until 1812 did the family settle on the very reaches of Louisiana, a place that was soon filled with thousands of other Italian families. Toni, now 31, decided to go off on his own accord, followed closely by Dante. Together the two moved to the West to what is now Washington. There, they came into contact with a Native American clan, as well as a very minimal amount of other Americans. The two brothers quickly became close to Zack and Elena Catori and their two young children, Keisha and Pete. Toni felt like her had some of the closest friends he had ever had with the Catori’s. But one night in 1817 everything was going to change for the worse.
Antonio was walking alone one night along the dark unlit streets back to his and Dante’s place, from what happened to be the Catori home. He had the feeling he was being followed, and upon stopping to make sure, he was hit full force from behind and knocked unconscious. What seemed to be hours later (he later found out that he had been out for nearly two days), he was awakened by an intense burning sensation. He felt like every little bit of his body was being consumed in fire. Finally opening his eyes, he realized he had been brought to his own home. And then the horrible notion of hunger. Through the pain that had finally started to subside, he stumbled his way through the home, blindly attacking his brother. But to Toni there was something off about this blood. So he continued, finding his way quickly out of the house and toward the rank smell that mingled with the sweeter scent. He found the worst smell of blood in the woods, a large wolf, and killed him easily before shooting off to the house, where the sweeter blood was hidden. He found her just as easily and ended up drinking her dry. It wasn’t until afterwards did he realize that he had killed his former friends.
For years after Toni wandered alone, not certain what happened to his brother, or what became of the Catori children. It wasn’t until the middle of the Civil War did he find out. He had been stalking about an old battle field, scavenging for food, when he recognized a sweet but rank scent blowing on the dead wind. He recognized it and it threw his hunger to a whole new level. It was then that he recognized the Catori kids, and tried and failed to kill them. As he fled the country, his instincts told him that those who were once his friends where now his enemies.
From then on he traveled the world, somehow knowing full well that the Catori’s were always close behind hime. It wasn’t until recently that he felt the need to go back to what used to be his home. He felt something here and it only felt right to be back home. He also knew, without a doubt, that the Catori kids would follow him back as well. fears: ~ Dying ~ Giving up his power ~ Someone finding out he respects his brother strengths: ~ Vamp skillz! ~ Strategies ~ Apathy to people unknown or not known well to him ~ Amazing Liar weaknesses: ~ His brother ~ Chocolate! =D ~ Egotistical likes: ~ Cats ~ Beating people in their own element ~ Playing guitar ~ Showing up his brother ~ Stargazing ~ Getting all the girls ~ Being a vampire ~ Having power (power of animation – only makes inanimate objects move) ~ The color black ~ Showing off dislikes: ~ Dogs ~ The Catori’s ~ Chocolate ~ His brother ~ Sun ~ Whiny girls ~ Bright colors ~ Being caught off guard ~ Loosing ~ Looking weak
facial appearance: His hair is dirty blonde, and kept spiked with a minimal amount of gel and his fingers constantly running through it. More often than not, his bangs are longer than the rest of his hair and are normally spiked forward. They also have a tendency to curl over his forehead. clothing: If you didn’t know Toni well enough, you wouldn’t think he had more than one shirt. In all reality, the only color shirts he has are black. Each and every one of them is too tight around his vast muscles. As if having nothing but black shirts isn’t bad enough, all of Damon’s pants are also black. Unlike his shirts though, his pants are baggie and have three cargo pockets up each side. Normally when outside, no matter the weather, he wears a long black trench coat and it’s only under some circumstances that he wouldn’t have it. Just like the coat, he also wears a pair or Aviator sunglasses. His right hand is cloaked in a black leather fingerless glove that seconds as Aletta’s, his pet raven, perch. As well, on his middle finger, he wears a thick sterling silver band with a large oval lapis lazuli stone in the center of it. build: Toni stands at an intimidating six foot five. Though as tall as he is, many seem to think he’d be lankier then what he actually is. In reality, he is extremely well built. Stuck forever in a 35 year old body, his well muscled features have only become more and more pronounced over the centuries. Though he isn’t thickly muscled to bursting point, his vampire strength makes him all the stronger than he already is. The muscles of Toni’s arms are finely chiseled and seem to tear through nearly all of his shirts. His shoulders are straight and he constantly, if not habitually, holds them in a squared off determinant manner. Though Toni probably doesn’t notice, he also often holds himself up straight, making it clear to everyone how tall he really is. marks/scars: The only scar he has is on his neck where he was bitten. species appearance: His skin is cool, marbleized, and sickly pale. Toni’s eyes are a thick dark red, changed from their once stunning emerald green by the gallons of blood he’s drank.

roleplay sample: From where he was standing, no one could see him. Toni seemed to blend in with the surrounding rocks, pale skin to match their surfaces, and dark cloths mimic the shadows. He looked down at the lights of Port Angeles with cold blood red eyes. There really wasn’t much for him down there at all. But it was his home. At least had been his home. Not anymore. But it was someplace familiar. And it would throw off his trackers enough that he had brought them right back home. He’d killed plenty of people in his old hometown from time to time, but never once had he lingered long enough to pull the tailing wolves with him. Toni didn’t know at all why they were so connected. It wasn’t mind reading, but intuition more like that kept them all together… probably from having been friends all those years ago.
He took in a silent breath, and let it out in a soft rush. What did it really matter why they could sort of sense each other’s movements? The point was they could, and Toni was going to play that to his advantage. He had a plan, or sort of one at the very least, to get the Catori’s right where he wanted them. He’d finish what he had started. Though in his defense he’d started it on accident. But now that they were after him, it was only in self defense that he would be after them as well. In some strange manic sense, it all made sense. At least to them it did. It was their own personal war per say. And they weren’t entirely the only ones in it. But others were kind of expendable. At least to him they were.
The sudden soft fluttering of wings behind him pulled Toni back into the present moment. A cool smile slipped across his lips as he turned to look at the sleek black raven sitting on a rock behind him. ”Well now, Aletta, how does it look?” he asked the raven, holding out his right arm to her. She let out a shrill trill and hopped onto her perch. Turning back to the city lights and stroking Aletta’s sleek feathers , his eyes traveled past them, toward Forks and La Push. He’d do some hunting first before he continued. Everything would be in motion by day-break. He lifted his right hand slightly and Aletta took to the air, hovering in circles around him before darting through the night sky. Toni glided quickly after her, towar the city. It was finally time. The end of this personal war he was in was coming. Scratch that. It was now.
