In-depth Analysis

Personality: Lena's personality is quite hard to disect because she rarely lets anyone in on an emotional level. Lena doesn't like to let anyone close in fear that they'll see something they won't like and leave her. She keeps people at arm's length distance away and maybe if she is comfortable she'll let them past her walls. Lena likes to put up a mask when she is around people, one that makes her seem confident, calculated and charming. People are often times amazed by her because they think she can do no wrong. She doesn't show any weaknesses or any hint that their is someting troubling her on the inside. She holds everything in and bottles it up deep within herself. This habit tends to lead to very emotional and draining breakdowns, although she makes sure that no one ever sees her walls crumble.

Lena's inner beast is very much a part of her personality that she tries to hide. 'Sage' is a predator through and through, viewing everything as an exciting hunt. Every move is planned out, to the way that Lena walks, talks, and even argues. 'Sage' causes Lena to have such a sharp tongue that she could tear you to pieces, verbally speaking that is. Lena also has trouble when it comes to relationships because of 'Sage'. The predator views going out as a hunt in action, slowly stalking its prey before going in for the kill. 'Sage' has caused numerous one night stands because Lena has been overcome by the lust for the hunt and the 'fight' with her prey that in the morning she feels ashamed of her actions and sneaks off. 'Sage' has been trying to push her to find her mate but Lena has resisted the urge for quite some time, appeasing her inner beast sexually but not emotionally.

Detailed history: Lena was born on a cool spring morning in early April to a young woman by the name of Evelyn Sayers. Evelyn was a young mother, only 18 at the time and there was no father in sight. Evelyn, who was a werejaguar, had let her inner beast's desires overcome her and after numerous one night stands couldn't figure out who was Lena's father. It didn't bother Evelyn though, she was happy to be a mother and due to the inheiritance from her late parents; money wasn't an issue. Lena grew up on the Sayer's Estate in the outskirts of Paradise, California. The mansion was surrounded by a dense forest that went on for miles before another house could be spotted. Lena fondly remembers playing out in the enormous yard with her mother and spending nights under the stars.

At a young age Lena knew that there was something different about her mother, but she struggled trying to figure out what that 'something' was. It wasn't until Lena's fifth birthday that Evelyn's secret came out. They were walking the nature trail near the house when a man, extremely pale and with blood red eyes, crossed their path. Evelyn changed in front of Lena and charged what Lena now knew was a vampire. Although her mother was in jaguar form, Lena knew that it was the same woman who had taken her in the woods. It was because of that knowledge that Lena jumped on the vampire's back when he pinned down Evelyn. That of course was not the brightest idea, but remember she was only five at the time. The vampire had flicked her off his back like an annoying bug, sending her through two trees with the force of the throw.

Lena had woken up three days later to her mother's worried eyes hovering over her. Evelyn had used Lena's distraction to dispose of her foe, but it was too late to try and get Lena to a hospital. Out of desperation to save her daughter, Evelyn had bitten Lena to infect her with Lycanthropy. It had the desired effect, Lena's wounds healed at an incredibly fast rate and she was saved. It came at a price though, Evelyn hadn't wanted her daughter to face the same curse as she had but it was the only way.

At age five Lena became a werejaguar and she learned about her mother's secret past. She came froma long line of werejaguars, the mothers passing down the trait to their daughters. Due to the fact that Lena's father was human, it was less likley that she would be born a child of the moon. Evelyn was thankful for that and kept her condition a secret so that Lena would never know about the transformation.

Lena struggled with her lycanthropy due to her youth, the inner beast who she liked to call Sage often meddled with her life. It was difficult to be a normal kid when there was a little cub in your head trying to get you to do bad things. Sage was a bad influence, trying to get young Lena to break the rules and let her inner beast out. Evelyn homeschooled Lena after a couple of incidents in elementary school where Sage convinced her to run off during recess and transform in the nearby woods.

It wasn't until freshman year in highschool that Lena was able to go back to school with the normal kids. Sage was still present in her mind, but her mother had helped teach her how to quiet the beast. Lena graduated at the top of her class, something that she gave Sage partial credit for. Due to her grades she was able to get into Washington University with a full ride scholarship as a psychology major. Evelyn wasn't exactly happy about the distance, but it was better than Lena going half way across the country for school.

Lena excelled in college and ended up continuing her schooling as a teaching assistant. Her professor had said that she had a phenomenal grasp of the inner workings of the mind, something that Sage was internally smirking at the entire conversation. She did well socially in school as well, gathering quite a large number of friends and lovers. She made sure to not repeat her mother's mistake, but Sage's desires seem to always be present.

Fears: That Sage will take over, that she'll end up pregnant too soon like her mother, that'll she'll never find someone to settle down with.
Strengths:

• Confident - She always seems to be so sure of herself and confident in everything thing that she does. She's a natural born leader who loves to take charge in situations.
  
• Intelligent - Sage is very calculating, planning out ever move and word, and it is something that Lena has picked up on. She seems to always have the right answer or know the right thing to say and when to say it.
  
• Charming - Lena's charm has helped her get out of a few stick situations that Sage has put her in. It seems that with her trademark smile and casanova lines, she can pretty much get whatever or whoever she wants.
  
• Pensive - Lena isn't one to blurt the first thing that comes to her mind. She thinks everything over in her mind before making a decision. She is very level headed and thinks things through instead of going into things head first.
  
• Sage - While many children of the moon struggle with their inner beasts, Lena has quite an odd yet working relationship with hers. She doesn't ignore Sage nor does she give in to everything that Sage wants. They have a compromising relationship, if Sage behaves and lets Lena live her life normally, Lena will give into some of Sage's desires at an appropriate time. Of course Sage doesn't always behave and Lena doesn't always give in to what Sage desires, but it is a relationship that works.

Weaknesses:

• Emotional Introvert - It is very rare for Lena to say what she is actually feeling. She likes to keep everything to herself and bottle up all of her emotions. While this makes her seem perfect on the outside, it is tearing her apart on the inside. It often causes her to lash out when she is let down, Sage litterally breaking out to save Lena from herself.
  
• Dominant - Lena likes to be in charge of things in almost every part of her life. She doesn't like to hand the reins to someone else so they can lead. It is one of Sage's negative attributes that she has picked up on. Lena likes to be in control and it actually scares her a little bit to let anyone take care of her since it is usually the opposite way around.
  
• Lonley - While Lena likes to close everyone off from what she is truly feeling, she really hates being alone. She thrives off of affection and just the fact that someone is near her. That's why it isn't a surprise to have someone in her bed every night, even if she isn't exactly dating them.
  
• Overthinker - Lena tends to overthink everything she does. It's mainly as a way to make sure Sage isn't taking over, but it causes her to miss out on certain chances. She very rarely just impulsively does something which is safe, but not exactly fun.
  
• The Outside - Lena has a bit of a problem, she needs to be outside for a certain amount of time each day or she gets a little testy. She needs the feel of grass in between her toes or the smell of earth in her nose. It has become increasingly difficult since she has been in college, but she has found herself sleeping in the woods if she can't get away during the day.

Physical Appearance

Facial appearance: Lena has her mother's high cheek bones and stunning smile. Her facial features are well defined with flawless skin. Her eyes seem to always be glittering with mischief, a trait that makes Sage seem closer than she really is. Lena's eyes are a mix between blue and green, often changing in different lights.
Clothing: Lena likes to wear earthy tones and form fitting clothing. Green is a staple in her wardrobe and often accents her ever changing eyes. She always has numerous band and braclets on her wrists as well as necklaces around her neck.
Build: Lena's build is that of an athlete with toned muscles defining her hourglass figure. Her muscles are visible, but not to the point where she looks like a body builder.
Marks/scars: Lena has numerous needle like pale scars on her back from the incident with the rogue vampire. They are faded and one must look very hard to actually see them. Her mother's bite mark can be found on her wrist directly abover her artery. It almost looks like a white tattoo band circling around her wrist.
Species appearance: Lena like her mother takes on the form of a black jaguar. They are often mistaken as panthers, but if one is able to get close you can see the tell tale spots of a jaguar. Lena's bright blue-green eyes can be found in Sage's physical form and it is the one clue that Lena is still inside.

Music filled every possible space of the building as Lena made her way to the bar. It didn't take much to bypass the line outside but a part of her wished she had been denied. Maybe waiting in the line would have given her enough time to convince herself to go back home. She could feel Sage smirking as she thought and a part of her wished the jaguar would just stay quiet for once. If it weren't for Sage she would be back in her apartment, maybe curled up with a good book, but no the jaguar wanted what the jaguar wanted and what the jaguar wanted was sitting at the end of the bar.

Lena pushed down the tidal wave of lust that Sage was pushing out to her. No, she was not going to give in to Sage this time. The deal was that she would get out of the flat and go to a club, it was never said that she'd be bringing anyone home tonight. Sage protested when Lena sat at the opposite end of the bar as the blonde. She was going to have a relaxing night out, maybe a quick drink before she made her way back home. The first shot made her think that Sage had calmed down a bit, the jaguar staying unusually quiet.

This should have been enough to make Lena worry, but she was tired of fighting with Sage this night. If the jaguar was keeping quiet, she wasn't going to disturb the peace. After ordering a glass of wine Lena made herself comfortable at the end of the counter, watching people as they passed. People watching was a hobby of Lena's and she loved figuring out who exactly the strangers that passed were. She picked up on the little things that people did, like a nervous flick of a ring or taping of a foot. You could learn a lot about someone just by taking the time to watch them.

Lena soon grew bored of the passerbys and turned her attention back to the bar. The blonde at the end of the table was no longer alone, a clueless male was now invading her personal space with a goofy grin on his face. The predator within her flared up at the challenge, knowing how easy it would be to take the blonde from her idiot suitor. The blonde was obviously not listening as she busied herself looking around the bar. Their eyes met across the table and Lena kept their gazes for a moment.

The blonde ended up blushing before looking back down to the countertop. Lena wanted her and she knew that she was going to get what she wanted. Ignoring Sage's sound of victory, Lena kept her gaze steady on her prey, already calculating her next move as she stalked over to the young woman. The hunt was on.
