Madison is a pretty shy girl, when it comes to people she doesn’t really like to be the one who talks first. She hates to be center of attention which means she would much rather be left alone of talk to a small group of people. When in a big group she tends to only talk if she is spoken to first. She is petrified of the dark, she doesn’t know why but the fear never left her from when she was a child.

When it comes to blood she totally freezes up, a fear thanks to watching her brother try and climb over a barbed wire fence. Her mind goes blank and usually she faints or gets extremely dizzy. When it comes to her daughter Madison can stray from her timid self. She will protect her daughter and hates when people make comments about her being such a young and single mother.

detailed history: Madison Marie Jacobs was born in New York City, her family consisted of her mother Catalina, her father Anthony, her older sister Summer, and her older brother Logan. Her sister is thirteen years older and her brother was one year older. Growing up for her was the typical experience, her mother kept a job for a little while but then decided to be a stay at home mother while Maddie’s father worked. She idolized her older sister like most little sister’s do. She wanted to do everything that Summer did… which like with most older sisters annoyed the hell out of Summer. She didn’t want her little sister going through her stuff and copying her all the time.

At about the age of four Maddie was spending more time with her brother then her sister who was starting to look at colleges and was spending more time with her boyfriend then with her little sister. When Summer moved off to college all Maddie had left was Logan so she moved her attachment from her sister to her brother. The two became extremely close since there was only a year separating the two.

When she was eight she and her brother were playing at their grandmother’s house in the countryside, they snuck into the back woods (which they weren’t supposed to play in since they were dangerous). Maddie had a balloon but a strong wind gust ripped it from her hands, causing her to start crying. Logan didn’t want to see his baby sister cry so he decided to climb over the fence to get the balloon that had lodged its self in a tree on the other side of the fence. The two had grown up in the city so they didn’t realize how dangerous the fence really was. At one time the back woods had been a cattle field so the fences were made with barbed wire. Neither knew anything about barbed wire so Logan grabbed onto the wooden post and hoisted himself up and over, quickly he shimmied up the tree and grabbed the balloon for his little sister. On the trip back over the fence the balloon hit him in the face causing him to jerk back and lose balance on the fence. He crashed to the ground his body being wrapped in the wire… since the wire was so sharp almost instantly blood was covering her brother’s body, the more he screamed in pain and tried to get free the worse it got. Maddie rushed over to him now crying even harder she grabbed onto the wire and yelled out in pain as it cut into her palm. Her brother yelled for her to go get her grandparents so after a couple of seconds she stood up and ran as fast as her small legs could carry her. Once the house was in site her legs were burning her lungs were hurting, her heart was pounding in her ears and she began to scream for her grandparents, it wasn’t long before they rushed outside to see Maddie covered in blood her grandmother screamed for her grandfather. It took them a moment to understand what the small girl was trying to say. In between hiccups and heavy breathing her grandfather understood and rushed to the tool shed to get his wire cutters… he yelled to his wife to call an ambulance. Maddie’s grandmother took her inside and called 911. It wasn’t long before Madison could see her grandfather carrying in Logan. She didn’t think she was ever happier to see her brother. Logan was in the hospital for a couple of days but nothing to bad… all he got were a couple of scars and a huge scolding… both of them got the scolding. Maddie still has the scars on her hands thanks to the wire.
In elementary school it wasn’t long before Logan worked up a reputation, everyone knew that if they teased or picked on Maddie they would have to deal with him. So school was abnormal to Maddie no one really made fun of her at least to her face. In middle school she found out the downside to having a big brother that people were afraid of… she never got asked to a dance. In high school that changed when in her sophomore year she met Alec… he was on the football team so he was built… the perfect man. He wasn’t put off because of her brother and she liked that. It wasn’t long before she fell in love with him; she dated him all the way up to her senior year even though her brother told her he wasn’t a good guy. This drove a wedge between the two and they started to drift apart. Logan didn’t know how to get her away from this guy but it wasn’t long before he joined the Marines and had to go over to Iraq. He hated that he had to leave but he knew his grades weren’t good enough to get into college.

Now Maddie didn’t have anyone to come in between her and Alec, she and him had started a sexual relationship in their junior year which thank god her brother hadn’t found out about. This wasn’t a problem until April in her senior year, Maddie found out she was pregnant. She told Alec but he didn’t seem to care… he didn’t want this to detour his dream of playing pro football. He left as soon as graduation was over. Thus leaving Maddie all alone and pregnant. She graduated high school and took up odd jobs and whatever jobs she could get with only a high school diploma.

When news reached her that Logan was killed in a bombing she almost broke… she had been looking forwards to him coming home in only a few weeks… she hadn’t told him that she was pregnant… she couldn’t she had to do that face to face. She knew with Logan she wouldn’t feel alone she knew then that he had been right about Alec and she should have listened to him. If it wasn’t for her sister she probably wouldn’t have made it to all the doctor appointments in the months after the news. She was pretty much just a shell hardly talking; she turned from her normally cheery out going self to a shy puppy. Summer tried to help her as much as possible.

After her daughter was born Maddie started to emerge from her depression, she named her daughter Mia after her brother’s favorite movie The Fast and Furious. She didn’t care if the middle name was male her daughter’s full name became Mia Logan Jacobs. After about a year of living on her own Maddie had to move in with her sister’s family. So now she lives with Summer, her husband Josh, and three children Samantha, Dalian, Tyler. Life is extremely hard being a single young mother but she is trying the best.

Maddie sighed as she heard her alarm going off… no it wasn’t a normal alarm it was the sound of a baby crying. “Uggg Mia” she groaned as she looked at her clock…. Three am… like clockwork she Mia was awake. She hated having to get up so early… before she had Mia she was the type to get up a noon or later. Now she had responsibilities while Alec was out in college meeting girls and partying. He hadn’t even cared that he was a father. Slowly Maddie pushed herself up from her bed and walked into the room her daughter was in.

As she yawned she flipped the light switch in Mia’s room to see her daughter standing up in her crib, her cries changed to happy little coos. She knew that Mia was probably ready to have a diaper change and by the smell in the room she was proven right. “Hello baby” she said as she walked over to her daughter and picked her up out of the crib. She walked over to the changing table and placed Mia down. She quickly changed the diaper and tossed it into her diaper genie and re-clothed Mia. She glanced at the clock again; she probably wasn’t going to get Mia back to sleep now. Another sigh left Maddie’s lips as she picked her daughter up and brought her into her own bedroom. Maddie climbed up onto the bed and placed Mia down the little girl sat up and gave a slight giggle. Maddie smiled… having Mia had probably been her biggest mistake in her life… but at least it was a mistake that she loved. Yes it was difficult but she couldn’t imagine life without her daughter. Without Mia Maddie wasn’t sure how she could have made it through her brother’s death.
