David ReavesCharacter Play-by: Antonio Banderas
name: David Reaves age: 38 gender: Male orientation: Straight (I hope so) race: Human birthplace: Richmond, Virginia current location: Forks, Washington occupation: Military Naval Contractor
personality: David Reaves is a very odd person socially. He is someone that has a million things going on in his head at once and general speaking something completely random and off topic to any conversation comes out of his mouth. Someone could define this as him simply being spontaneous with his speech. David isn’t a verbose person but he does tend to say the wrong things at the wrong times; which are all explained because of his job and his life. David tries to be as collected as possible but he often times turns into be a rather clumsy person. Consciously he is a very unorthodox individual and so in social settings he doesn’t tend to do very well. It is for these reasons that David isn’t a very social person on his own accord but he is a sucker for a good smile and a welcoming invitation and will usually show up to any event he is called it. It is rather contradictory and has gotten him into “awkward” situations on more than one occasion.
Outwardly David a clumsy, spontaneous, somewhat goofy oddball that people invite to parties to laugh at and not with. However, on an intelligence level he is incredibly intelligent. David has masters in Nuclear Physics, Nuclear Engineering, and Aerospace Engineering from North Carolina State, Duke, and UCLA. So, needless to say he is a rather intelligent individual. He can remember anything even if it isn’t a conscious remembering. He is extremely good with numbers and organizing equations, creating theorems and algorithms; all the nerdy things of life. Many reasons David doesn’t say much is because he honestly would confuse people with most of what he said. He is also very quiet because of past memories from Desert Storm. David suffers from Post Traumatic Stress syndrome from several things he saw overseas and he is a bit paranoid because of this. David is sort of an oddball genius but then again, aren’t they all?
detailed history: David Reaves was born into a small home, a the fourth of eight children and the third of two boys that would be born to the Reaves household. Of course, most of the children in David’s home were not his biological brethren. David’s mother had been through three husbands before David was born and so he had only one other sibling that was ten months older than him. Her name was Kristen. David’s life was never really a good one and home was never really easy. David had a decent bit of Hispanic in him because of his father. His sister was the same but the two older children were white and there was always some bickering and picking because of that mere fact alone. David’s father left his mother went his four and she remarried again to the final husband that produced four more children, two sets of twins with two years of one another. David, by the age of ten truly new the meaning of welfare and what it meant to live impoverished.
However, David had something that none of his siblings had and that was an extraordinary learning curve and deserve to make things move and make things explode. David was the genius child that all the older and younger kids made do their homework even when he was in elementary school. David didn’t mind because it helped them to stop picking on him and his sister so much. It was a bit of a mutual understanding by age twelve. David would do homework for the bigger kids and they would leave Kristen and David alone. Kristen was very popular in school; however. It wouldn’t be all that incorrect to say that she was somewhat of a babe or at least all the high school guys seemed to think so. She didn’t have David’s brain and by the time David got into high school for the first time he found out that his sister had gotten into the wrong part of high school. David saw his sister wither away into a horrible excuse for a woman as she abused drugs, sex and alcohol. Outwardly she was a social butterfly but inwardly she was alone and afraid. David did the best he could to comfort her but there wasn’t much he could say to override the fact that her biological father had left her and her current step dad beat her and raped her every other night. She never said anything and neither did any of the children.
David never really knew if his step dad abused any of the other siblings like he did to Kristen but there were signs with the younger ones. David loved his sister but was never one of the bigger boys and never could challenge his step dad physically. It wasn’t until David was seventeen when he walked in on his step father beating his naked sister that David snapped. Unfortunately he snapped with baseball bat and snapped his step father’s neck and broke his skull. Needless to say David went to prison but because he was still a minor he only served five years. There were other technicalities involved with the trial that caused such a short sentence. Still at the age of 21 David left the prison and joined the Navy. He was still a genius and excelled in his classes. The Navy paid for all of his education and paid for a masters degree in Aerospace Engineering which David took and later used his knowledge to help design missiles that would bring down orbiting satellites. Before his schooling; however, he was sent to Iraq for Desert Storm.
It is not necessarily essential to explain everything that happened in those two years in war but David because a prisoner of war along with four other soldiers. He had become a navy seal in less ten months but that did not give him the training to emotionally endure what happened in captivity. He was the only one that came back alive and not without two bullets in his left rib cage and a slightly collapsed lung, a missing figured which was later surgically replaced and a limp in his right leg that he would never recover from. David is still pretty sure he has shrapnel from a bomb lodged all over his body still. The military gave him proper accommodations including the medal of honor. They took him off front line duty and sent him to school. David graduated with three masters in less than ten years in some of the most difficult fields. Needless to say the military took that and put it to good use and most of what he does now is highly classified. For his commercial and community job he is simply a contractor for the military and builds ships and radar systems but he has a much more classified MO that very few people know. David was still a good big brother and he tracked down his sister Kristen and began to support her. She had four children of her own by the time David found her and was living a junky’s life. David took her to Forks, Washington away from everything she had known in Virginia to settle down and live quietly. He did his best to support her and with his government and commercial salaries they did just fine. David never saw his mother again and never really looked for any of his non biological relatives. David’s job keeps him moving around all over the place but he does an excellent job still being there for his sister and her three boys and one daughter. They truly became his own and he cared for them like the fathers they never had.

your name: David Stanley age: 22 how long have you been roleplaying?: 12 years how did you find us?: Random codeword:
roleplay sample: It was always a long day at the “office” for David. His career didn’t really allow him to have the luxury of working in a cubical without many responsibilities. In fact, David hadn’t been a cubical since his barracks; well at least that was the closest thing to a cubical he could figure. Driving was always nerve racking for David and he had every reason to be worried because there was a flood warning between Seattle and Forks. It was the rainy season in Washington and that was always a problem, even if David was driving a hummer. Then there were the flashbacks… “David! Alpha just got hit, Ray is gone! We’ve got to get up there now and provide back up! Move this vehicle son!” The windshield wipers kept going back and forth trying to give some clarity to the road but there wasn’t much to be seen. It was a long dark road in the middle of a forest. David passed an advisory sign for a bridge ahead. “Drive Reaves! Base camp this is SO 3 we have a visual on the convoy now. How do you wish for us to approach! Reaves! Bomb!” David swerved off the road to avoid a fallen tree but began to hydroplane across the road towards one of the water filled ditches off the shoulder of the road. David slammed on the brakes in time to slide into the water without any real damage to his vehicle.
David ran his hands over his face and looked around. His windshield was beginning to get a bit fogged up. His breathing was heavy and he was perspiring a bit. His hands were clutched to the steering wheel like the jaws of death to cold metal of a wrecked car. David took a deep breath and looked behind him. He couldn’t see anything but darkness. At least there weren’t any cars nearby then. David but the hummer in reverse and got back onto the road and continued to drive forward. He was cautious and visibility was still a problem. David knew he needed to get back to Kristen and the kids but it was going to be difficult with this weather. David checked his phone to see if he had any service but there wasn’t any to be had on his commercial phone. If only he was allowed to use his military phone for non emergencies. David eyes stayed on the road, his pupils moving back and forth frantically to find the road but it was obvious was driving in a foot of water. David needed to slow down and as he put his foot on the brake he felt the road go out from under him and he realize that he was in a river. The vehicle wasn’t sinking but water was rushing into the vehicle and there was a harsh current that was pushing on the passenger side of the hummer, pushing the car, threatening to tip it over. David reached up and broke the sky roof and pulled himself up onto the roof of the car with a flashlight. He stood there for a moment, flicking the light on and off. Hopefully someone would pass and see the light. Of course, he wasn’t even sure where the road was at this point or if anyone would even be driving in this weather besides him.
