Benjamin Thomas JirouxCharacter Play-by:Gaspard Ulliel
name: Benny Jiroux age:16 gender:Male orientation:Straight. race: Human birthplace:Seattle. current location: Forks. Begrudgingly. occupation: Student. Unless asshole can be an occupation.
personality: Benny has four modes. Charming, Agitated, Gaming, and Tired. Most of the time when he is around people it's one of the first two. He has an unhealthy obsession with the twenties and jazz music and often uses words from back in the day. He also loves speaking in other languages. He loves learning languages. Words just suit him.
When he gets angry though, he can be a menace. Everything becomes sarcastic and cynical. And fights happen easily. Little things tend to tick him off. Like how his mom had to go an move from his favorite city to a rinky-dink-town that he doesn't care about. He'll mope for a bit, but he usually doesn't stay this way for too long, as a blessing to those around him.
Then there is gaming mode. Once you stick him in front of an x-box 360, you've lost him. Unless you are playing as well. Because you wouldn't get a word in edgewise if you didn't know what was going on. If there was one thing he was thankful for in modern times, it'd be games. His blood is practically owned by Valve.
Finally, there is his tired mode. If you try to talk to this child before he has his morning double-esspresso shot with extra sugar. GOD. HELP. YOU. Lack of sleep and fondness of 'Pwning N00bs' to the wee hours of the night lead to a very cranky, very very cynical, very easily angered Ben. Do not approach, do not speak to, do not try and wake up. Let the zombie go and mumble to the employee what he wants. Trust me, they know. They know.
detailed history: Besides moving to Forks within the last month. Nothing too exciting happened in Benjamin's life. He never knew his dad, but that never affected his life any. His mother was a well-to-do Surgeon who made plenty of money to pay for both of them to live comfortably. In fact, the kid was spoiled a whole lot.
He grew up listening to jazz and fell in love with the twenties. That era of music and what it grew into became the only thing he'd let fall on his ears. Benny Goodman (The man he was named after) soon became his hero. He joined the jazz band at his school but found out he had no talent what so ever for the clarinet. So he learned the string instruments instead. Violin, Cello, all that stuff. He taught himself guitar about as soon as he discovered how quickly that could get him the attention of the ladies. Music was his only real love though.
It wasn't until he was in sixth grade that he got into video games. But that right there was enough to make him cheat on music. Ocarina of Time became his new best friend. Super Mario was his brother. Kirby was that kid who stuck around all the time that he always tolerated. Then he graduated from the N64 to the PS2 where he met Jack and Daxter and the Final Fantasies. But the real magic didn't happen until he got his x-box and came across first person shooters. Halo was now a daily ritual. Call of Duty too. And when he got his X-Box 360, Valve became god. Left 4 Dead, Team Fortress 2, Half-life, Portal, Any spare time he had, was dedicated to them.
It came as sort of a shock when his mother started packing things to move to Forks. Mostly because he hadn't been paying too much attention to what was going on around him and suddenly there were boxes everywhere. Apparently she 'had' told him. But he 'didn't hear her'. The boy has a very selective hearing. Then began the moping, and complaining. However, as much as he protested, his mother persisted on moving. She was re-assigned to the hospital in Forks, and there was no way she was commuting that far everyday so he could sit at home and do nothing with his life until the weekends where he partied in 'his' city.
So Forks it was. And the anger continued. There wasn't even a coffee shop that would know his order for a while, he was going to have to either make his espresso on his own at home, or teach another place what fear really is. But he'll probably adjust.
fears: Power outages, Not saving before a boss battle, centipedes. strengths: He is a techy-GOD. He could pull a computer apart and put it back together before you could get through to tech support. weaknesses: Conversation with other duders. He is good with the ladies, but unless it's video-game or internet-chat, he cannot speak to another man for more than a moment with out sounding like an idiot, getting angry, walking away, and all that embarrassing stuff. likes: Jazz music, Video games, Ladies, Sarcasm, Esspresso, Mountain Dew, being called beautiful or handsome. dislikes:Dudes. All other music besides Jazz, Swing, or Classical. Centipedes. Most bugs. Not getting his way.
facial appearance: Damn Handsome. And he knows it. clothing:Usually dark jackets, tee shirts, jeans and maybe a scarf. Always. Wearing. Hats. Usually Fedoras. build:Medium build. Barely any muscle at all. But could still throw a decent punch. More so he knows how and where to land it, juuuuust right. marks/scars: He has a few birthmarks here and there that just look like freckles. Has a scar from a cat scratch on his hand. It's tiny and barely visible. species appearance: Like a guy? powers: Does being a total Techy count?
