Prudence Olivia WatsonCharacter Play-by: Amanda Tapping
name: Prudence Olivia Watsom age: Forever Forty-Five - Three Hundred and Fifty-Two gender: Female orientation: Unknown race: Nomad Vampire birthplace: Yorkshire, England current location: Forks, USA occupation: Unknown
personality: -Composure
Prudence can remain very composed in the direst situations, often then not she can see the good side of any situation and though she does not try to get involved in an argument, when she does, Prudence will try to keep her calm. After all she had come from a time in which she had been a very wealthy woman in which composure was essential.
-Intelligent
Being a vampire for over two hundred years, Prudence is bound to be intelligent, but when she was human this was the case as well as her father had wanted all of his children to have an education. Now in modern day, Prudence has continued this loved as she continues to read books from the past and some from the modern day to keep up with the moving times. Her Intelligence allows this to be strength of hers, she can blend in and analyse people and situations with a logical mind.
-Loyal
This is a vital strength to who Prudence is. She is loyal to her daughter and would stand by her side until she was thrown on the flames of a burning fire. Prudence is loyal as she sees that a person is nothing without friends or family, and to maintain this relationship, loyalty is a must.
-Temper
This is a weakness of Prudence, though she has amazing composure, when this is tested to the point in which she can't take much more then her temper will come through and its not a pretty site at all.
-Forgiving
This can be a plus or a fault and in the vampire world, Prudence considers this as a fault as she has been used to gain something. Even now she struggles to see the worst in some people.
-Emotional
Though she can't cry, this is a flaw in her personality. Prudence can be very emotional because she often thinks of the faint human memories she has and as a result it would seem that she has a permanent underlying sadness.
Prudence's attitude is mixed because of her upbringing but because she has also been influenced between school and her friends. It can be said that she has a dark side but there is something different to this, she has not quite decided what side she is on yet. Prudence is a confident woman and she has always been proud as she was raised to be and she often looked out for herself. She is quite complex as well as she likes to read, learning new topics and she really values knowledge in a person. Prudence does know that knowledge is not everything. Prudence has another side to her; it is her outgoing and adrenaline demanding side. She is not afraid of new experiences nor is afraid of taking risks. She believes that a person, who does not take risks, does not know what life is about.
However she is terribly loyal to the people she calls friends and can understand in certain situations. Sometimes she seems to be too stubborn or strong headed, which people sometimes don’t like about her, but that is a result of resent hard times but she does not try to change for anyone, she is who she is.
detailed history: Prudence Olivia Watson was born in the London, England to Edward and Selene Lennox on 22nd of May 1762 She was one of the youngest out of four. She had three siblings, two older brothers called Edward and Marcus and a younger sister Charlotte. Prudence was born in the 18th Centaury where times were different and since she was born in the middle of the centaury and her family was rich, she had to be the perfect as any child did in any age. During her childhood seen a lot because this was a time where everything had changed. Prudence and her sister were given lessons on how to be a real lady and do everything high society required of them. These were long and often painful as she would be in a bodice for the majority of her time in the public eye. These lessons would involve being taught how to read and write, as well as how to talk proper English and read Latin. Prudence of cause knew she was very privileged to have the chance to read and write, but she did not understand why she had to endure the pain required of wearing a bodice under her dress and having her hair pinned so tightly to her head when it was being styled.
At the age of nineteen, she was betrothed to someone that she did not love, but this was an arranged marriage. And one that would bring two powerful families together, this was what her time was like, and it happened, it was a common thing between wealthy families. Both of her brothers had already married and now had children at this point, and they had said that they were very content in their way of life. It had been her turn. Prudence first met her betrothed when she had been playing the piano for her family, singing the simple tune she had been taught, when he entered the room. Prudence had finished playing and she looked up to find him smiling. He asked for her to walk with him in the gardens. Prudence and William talked while they were in the gardens, he spoke that this was not how he wanted to wed, but that it was a must for the families, he said that he wanted someone who he could trust and maybe grow to love. They both sat down at the fountain, in which he gave Prudence a beautiful ring, and everything was set since the wedding had already been planned by her mother and sister.
The wedding had been a grand affair, with many people in attendance, it was described that Prudence looked breathtaking and very much the blushing bride she should be. Over time, Prudence became friends with William Watson who was twenty-nine; the man who she came to marry, but she never learnt to love him. It came to be more of a companionship. They had been best friends. Throughout their first year of marriage, Prudence fell pregnant and her husband was over the moon, he doted upon her every moment he was not working, and she enjoyed it when he read poetry to her in the gardens when it was a warm day. They lived at his manor situated in Yorkshire. Soon they had their first child. A girl named Amelia Rose Watson. This was not the outcome her husband or even their own family wanted. They had wanted a son to carry on the Watson family name, as her husband was an only child. Prudence loved her daughter as much as she did if she had been her son, and her husband would coo over the darling bundle. Amelia had been raised by Prudence with the help of a hired nanny, this was because Prudence would have to attend several functions with her husband and was forbidden to bring along her daughter to such events. As her daughter neared her first birthday, Prudence had fallen ill from being out in the pouring rain when the carriage broke. Thinking she would not see her daughter on her birthday in fear of making her ill, she had cried, but William had comforted her and promised to have a private party to make it seem as if she would not miss a thing.
Two years after the birth of Amelia, Prudence fell pregnant once more and she had a baby boy. But he was still born and it was devastating to both her husband and herself. Her father who had passed away only a year before because of natural causes, this had been a sad time for Prudence when her father passed away as she had not been able to make it to say her goodbyes because of her own ill health at that time. She then suffered from three miscarriages and another still born daughter. They counted their blessings that they had a beautiful healthy daughter.
At the age of thirty-two, she had a daughter who was now twelve years old and she was a respected member of society. Her mother had passed away the year before, once more of natural causes from what she had been told. Her husband was forty-one. They would often take picnics in the gardens and her husband would run after Amelia when they played hide and seek as Prudence sat on the blanket in amusement. It was not long after her thirty-third birthday when George took her out for a meal as the nanny looked after Amelia, this was the day when George said he had fallen very much in love with Prudence, and he did not regret a single day of their marriage. However Prudence could not say she loved him, no matter how much she wanted to, he was her best friend and she had very much wished she could be the wife he deserved so much.
Over the years her life becomes a normal and happy life. One that she could be proud of, her daughter had grown up well educated and had found a very kind gentleman with whom she fell in love with. At this time Prue was forty-two and she was planning her daughter’s wedding. She could not believe how fast the years had vanished. Throughout her daughter’s wedding she just cried, it was hard to let her go and watch her marry another man. She had watched her childhood fly and even after all of these years she was still her baby girl. William had tried to maintain his own composure but that had also been hard. After only two years of letting her daughter go, she became a grandmother to her first grandson. Alexander William Watson-Francis. Oh how that little boy had been spoiled by her. But this happy time turned into a sad occasion when her husband passed away in his sleep only three months later. It had crushed Prue but she tried to maintain her own composure still. She had been forty-five; she continued to spoil her grandson much to the dismay of her daughter. This was the year she was turned into an immortal creature she thought had been the stuff of legends.
She does not remember which of her three days of burning except she had been on her own walking along the hills. When she discovered what she had been she killed three innocent people. She had both fled deep into the forest and she was never found. Prudence was horrified at what she had done and what she had become, a vampire was the stuff of nightmares and now she had become just that. Prudence slipped away into the night, to try and cope. Eventually, when travelling on her own, she found that in her first year, the blood lust settled just a little, she was gaining a little control. That was when she came to a coven, one that accepted her for who they were. There were only three of them but they took her in. They had been known as the Hopes. Overtime, Prudence had learnt some form of control, though it was difficult, but it became almost bearable. The time came to try and interact with humans, this was a risk the Hopes were taking but it was what they wanted. Decades passed and Prudence found her love for Physics, she studied every book she could find and became very knowledgeable in such matters.
Prudence decided that it was time to move away from the Hope coven, to live on her own and to see the world; this was after living with the Hopes for over six decades. The year was 1865 and she was now in living in a small time in Ohio, she stayed there in secret, it was just to try and develop more self control over their blood lust, they had now been vampires for sixty-three years and Prudence had noticed that most vampires were young and forever would be like that, but she was forever forty-three, it was somewhat depressing. Another three decades passed and it was now 1905, and Prudence had been to visit the graves of her family that had long passed to the heavens above but never forgotten by this immortal creature. Prudence did this every five years, she would make the swim over to England, just to tend to their final resting place, it was grim now that the world had forgotten about all of these people, but she never did, but what she did find was that her name was on the grave stone. A sad smile had appeared on her face, she could only wish she could have joined them.
She had a story, one that she stuck to. It would be a simple one, Prudence would be a widow of a man that had died of the Spanish influenza. Prudence would pretend to be thirty-seven years old, which would mean they could stay a few years. This started to be the story whenever she moved, Prudence became someone that people wanted to know, but they did in the long run become her meal. They were a few slip ups, but her self-control was getting much better with this increased interaction. In 1935, she was once more in Ohio. Now to the modern day, only a few decades ago, the Volturi were interested in her power, it was just molecular combustion, she didn’t think it was an interested, so what if she could blow up a tree with a flick of her hand, she could not destroy a vampire with it, all she could was knock them a short distance away. Prudence now found herself in Forks, only to discover that there was another vampire coven, but she was not leaving, far from it, she was going to have fun. Even now she still wears her wedding rings to remind her of how good she used to be.
