Isabella Marie SwanCharacter Play-by: Kristen Stewart
name: Bella Swan age: 18 gender: Female orientation: Straight race: Human birthplace: Forks, Washington current location: Forks, Washington occupation: Student at Forks High School, recently quit Newton’s Olympic Outfitters.
personality: Though sometimes nasty looks are cast her way, Bella is a rather compassionate and kind-hearted soul. Every intention she holds is pure, but there are times when things just don’t seem to go as planned. In consequence, numerous people in her life have been hurt by some of her decisions. Charlie and her decision to be with Edward, running off to Phoenix and then across the seas to Italy; Jacob and any decision involving Edward. Edward and her decision to remain friends with Jacob. Though it may seem complicated, Bella wants no less than for everyone in her life to be happy and content. In perspective, it’s simple, but in reality…it’s quite complicated.
Though having fallen for a vampire and found a close friendship with a werewolf, Bella has a rather innocent soul. Her words are always filled with care and understanding, and she longs to be around those she loves. The idea of someone risking their life for hers makes her incredibly nervous, especially concerning those she holds of high stature. If she had it her way, she would be the one out there taking the bullet for someone else. In Bella’s eyes, better her own life than the one’s she loves.
Even now having fallen in love, Bella’s confidence is still relatively low and she remains quite awkward in given situations. Always having been the clumsy girl who trips over her own two feet, she finds it hard to believe that people are actually interested in her life. Up until recently, it had been boring and unoriginal. Of course, even now it still seems unexciting to the outside world. Oh, if only they knew.
detailed history: Isabella ‘Bella’ Marie Swan was born to Charlie Swan and Renee Dwyer on September 13, 1987 in the clouded town of Forks, Washington. It wasn’t long after her birth that her parent’s romance faded into a divorce. Renee and Bella moved to California where they stayed for a while before moving to Phoenix, Arizona. It was here that Bella spent most of her childhood and early teenage years.
Growing up in Phoenix, she was constantly surrounded by the sun and heat. Though, must to her dismay…she remained relatively pale her entire life. But, that wasn’t the only thing that she experienced that made her feel like an outsider. Going to school, she made maybe one or two friends, but never anyone close enough to have more than a brief exchange of words with. In consequence, her days after school were mostly spent at home with her mom; hanging out and just enjoying her company. Of course, it wasn’t like she didn’t try to fit in. She attempted to try the arts, both in performing and music. Ballet was her main attempt, though even that didn’t last for long. For the short time it did, she was thankful to be put near the back so her mistakes would be masked by the better dancers in front. And concerning the music perspective, her brief piano lessons didn’t last long either. Phoenix really just wasn’t her calling.
She did occasionally visit Forks and her father, though. During these occasions, she always found herself spending time with the Black family kids: Jacob, Rebecca, and Rachel. The four of them grew close in their childhoods, but as Bella grew older…Forks grew less appealing and her visits became less and less. Eventually, she just stopped going back and kept in contact with Charlie through her mother.
It was the fall of 2004 when Bella decided to move to Forks. It wasn’t out of sheer will, but rather a desire to not travel constantly. Phil, her mom’s new husband, played minor league baseball and was always on the road. Not a life Bella exactly wanted. So, Forks was the next best thing. Little did she know how much that cold, wet city would change her life.
Obviously, as always, the first day of school was a drag. But, it was already better than Phoenix. Making friends with Mike Newton, Jessica Stanley, Eric Yorkie, and Angela Weber, she was on her way to at least a halfway normal social life. It was at lunch, when she saw him. Edward. The man who would change her life.
The next couple months were spent chaotically trying to get her life together in Forks while trying to figure out the adamant mystery behind Edward. With the help of her old-time friend Jacob and his tribe’s stories, she was able to figure it out. Edward and the other Cullen’s were vampires. But, given their recent interactions, she wasn’t afraid…and she fell in love. Of course, there were those that didn’t like it, and all along her friendships started to dwindle because of it. But, she was happy.
That was, until he left. He and the Cullen’s disappeared from existence, leaving Bella behind in a world she hated. Nightmares plagued her dreams, causing unbearable pain. Her dwindling friendships soon seemed to vanish, and she became clouded in a world where she no longer wanted to exist. It wasn’t until Charlie stepped in that Bella began to slowly heal. Her comfort was found in the friendship and love of Jacob, her old time friend who was more than determined to put a smile back on her face.
Their friendship soon turned into more. She started finding herself slowly healing from Edward’s disappearance, his face fading more and more while she was with Jacob. But, soon even Jacob would be plagued to hurt her. After a heated argument between him and Mike, Jacob seemed to be missing in action. He wouldn’t return phone calls, wouldn’t come to see her. Nothing. That pain came back two-fold, but Bella wouldn’t give up. She went to go see him and soon was confronted with another reality she once thought had been fantasy: werewolves. That certainly explained a lot, but given certain circumstances, she soon found herself in Volterra, Italy saving the vampire she loved: Edward. Upon returning back to Forks, everything became a blur. She was caught between the hearts of two men. Edward’s proposal to marry him sent Bella’s emotions into chaos…and she now remains caught between Edward and Jacob. It’s not that she doesn’t love Edward…she does. She just isn’t certain about leaving her old life behind for a man who left her, even if it was out of love.
Filled with emotions, Bella has told Edward that now is not the right time, but she can only hold off her final decision for so long. Her heart is pulled between two and she has no idea which one to choose. For now, she remains concentrating on school and graduating…that’s all she can do to keep from thinking about the two of them, and how hard it’s going to be to hurt one of them. fears: being alone, losing the ones she loves, non-vegetarian vampires, the Volturi strengths: determined, courageous, brave, strong-willed, independent, self-less weaknesses: clumsy as possible, lacks confidence, Edward and Jacob, fighting likes: being around those she loves, especially Edward and Jacob, reading, the sun and heat dislikes: parties, events Alice plans, anything cold, being human and aging.
facial appearance: Bella’s beauty rings louder than the spark of media. She isn’t your blonde-haired blue eyed model out of a magazine. No. She’s the shy, yet intense young girl whose beauty comes through naturally. No makeup is needed to accent those dark eyes, nor is it needed to cover any flaws. Her paler than normal skin actually works in her advantage, giving her contrast with her features, making her rich, brown eyes stand strong, and her wavy hair look perfect. clothing: Given the usual weather in Forks, Bella can usually be seen wearing a long sleeve shirt and jeans. Her outfits are, for the most part, simple and comfortable. Rarely does she get dressed up, unless it’s for a party or a dance. Even then, if Alice wasn’t around…she would probably just wear something casual. build: Though she doesn’t have the athletic body like most girls at her school, she is no where near lacking. If it had to be labeled, her build would be considered average. marks/scars: Never really getting out much, Bella didn’t have many specific opportunities for getting scars. But, being naturally clumsy, she definitely had her fair share of skinned knees and scraped hands. Most of them have faded over time, but a few still remain. Her only big scar is the crescent shaped one on her right wrist from where she had once been bitten by James. The temperature of that scar is a few degrees cooler than the rest of her skin, making it so she never forgets the world she discovered of vampires. species appearance: n/a

roleplay sample: Waking to a warmth outside her comforter, a sleepy Bella turned the other way under her covers. A slight groan was muffled by the sheets as her rather annoying alarm clock reminded her of just how early school was. Sighing, she kept her eyes closed as she swung her arm out from under the covers to hit the snooze button. Still half-asleep, she realized the sun was shining and immediately her thoughts went to Edward. He wouldn’t be at school today, and he wouldn’t be showing his face anywhere around here until after sun-down. That made getting up for school even more difficult as she now had nothing to look forward to.
The thought to just stay home and sleep was all too appealing, but the knocking on her door meant Charlie disagreed. “Bells, wake up! You’re gonna be late.” That was how these mornings went. A late night with Edward, and an early morning for school. She hated that he didn’t need sleep…it really wasn’t fair. Eyes still closed, a small smile stretched across her face as she thought of him; thought of how perfect he was. His smile…his lips…his eyes…everything. A soft sigh of content was left under the sheets as she slowly opened her eyes to a new day in Forks. It wouldn’t be all too bad without him at school. They only had a couple months left before graduation…and having survived his disappearance from Forks, she knew one day wouldn’t be too bad.
Drawing the covers back, she sat up in bed, clicking the alarm off before the annoying beeping started again. After a much-needed stretch, Bella hopped into the shower, and within forty-five minutes, she was ready for another day of senior classes. Grabbing a quick breakfast bar from the pantry, she grabbed her bag and headed out the door. “Bye!” She yelled back to Charlie before closing the front door and making her way towards her truck. Shaking the last bit of sleepiness from her, she climbed in the front seat and started towards school…all the while, enjoying the heat and sun that caused her love to hide in shadows, and stay away from Forks High School. Lucky.
