Jacob William BlackCharacter Play-by: Taylor Lautner
name: Jacob Black age: Sixteen gender: Male orientation: Straight race: Quileute Native American birthplace: Forks… La Push, Washington. current location: Forks… La Push, Washington. occupation: He is a shape-shifting wolf, the Reservation’s resident mechanic, as well as high school student and a protector of La Push.
personality: A fun, adventurous boy, Jacob is also a very caring, loving human being- if you could settle on that term to justify his physical existence. Usually looking to find serenity in rebuilding or fixing old automobiles and things alike, he is usually a rather outgoing teenager. He enjoys spending time with his friends, and is usually found roaming about the reservation with his group of close Quileute brothers. Though an only child, he has never really felt that part; the other boys on the reservation are exactly as mentioned before- his brothers. With a wild affinity for anything mechanical, he is a natural at it all; he has never been formally taught anything he has learned. Anytime anyone needs help with any sort of subject, he does not hesitate to lend his hand to them.
Jacob Black is very protective with the ones he cares for. He is quick to jump into a situation he knows nothing about and save them from anything and everything. There is no doubt in the boy’s heart of touch of heroism about him, and yet he is not affected by a large attitude or ego. Though he loves to joke, he does not truly believe he is the best at anything he does. His policy is to be true and honest, and to believe in the real world.
Along with being protective, he is very devoted to his loved ones. Every now and then he still sits and dreams of a day when he will have someone to sit down with, to protect, to be devoted to in everyway in a much deeper way than that of the blood running through his veins and the bonds he has with the pack. He enjoys entertaining the idea of having someone to come home to one day, someone he truly loves. At first glance, he does not enjoy the idea of imprinting, and only because it could happen on anyone, at any given time; over time, he developed the theory that imprinting was just another way of proving love at first sight, and it is an idea he dreams of some nights.
He enjoys the outdoors as well, even though his heritage binds him to the wild. Despite the atmosphere and weather pattern of La Push, as well as any other part of Washington, he does not mind the rain. He finds it relaxing, as well as just another excuse to lock himself in the barn out back and fix something.
His father is one of the most important people to him, and always will be. He looks up to him, and wishes to do nothing but make him proud of his son, though Jacob already knows that he is so. Though he never really sees his sisters, he is still protective of them too, often worrying if they are alright or not, despite their lack of presence in his life due to college. He loves them deeply, and would do anything for them.
detailed history: Jacob Black was born to one Billy Black and one Sarah Black. He was brought into this world after his mother gave birth to his older, twin sisters Rachel and Rebecca Black two years before him. A true child of the reservation, his parents raised him right there- never wishing to move him or his sisters from their true place of life. A couple years into his life, his mother died, leaving his father Billy to take care of him and his sisters. Sarah Black was a causality of a horrible car accident. All that Jacob knows of his sisters and mother have been heard from his father. Once more, Jacob was only a young child when it happened, so he does not remember much about it all. Rachel and Rebecca basically raised Jacob from the time their mother died, until it was time for the two of them to start living their own lives.
Of course, he had often played with a little Bella Swan when they were younger- when Charlie and Renee were still freshly-married, and partially still on good terms with each other (not that they were ever on bad terms). Along with Bella, he had many adventures with the rest of the Quileute boys on the Reservation. He was your stereotypical little boy- playing outside, falling in the dirt, playing rough, and always coming home loads dirtier than before, when he had left the house that morning.
When both of his sisters made their decisions to move on, Jacob almost felt sad to see them go. Rebecca had moved on to marry rather early in her life, moving away to Hawaii, while Rachel went off to school in a distant state. This all left Jacob alone with his father. Over the years, Billy has taught him almost everything he knows about mechanics, even though most of it just came naturally to the Native American. When he had seen how upset his father was about losing his two daughters, Jacob vowed to be the best he could be and do nothing to ever hurt or disgrace his father. Though still young at that point, Jacob had a good hold on things early on in life.
School had never really been an issue for him; he had no real stance on the issue. School was something you always had to do, and there was no real use in whining about it. For the early part of his life, he easily went from the house to the Reservation’s elementary school, and back home each day. It was also during this time that he had begun asking more questions on the tribal history of the Reservation, as well as family history and things of that nature. He became engrossed in all of the stories and tales his elders had for him, and fully embraced everything they had disclosed to him with an utter passion.
Ah, the joys of being a teenager… Upon the return of Bella Swan to Forks, Jacob had definitely thought he had fallen for the one person he had a chance to make a future with. Everything had begun changing, and he could not understand why. His friends were changing into people- into things he did not understand fully, and the worst part? He had been the only one who was being left out, it seemed. Jacob kept his friends close to him- Quil and Embry; they did almost everything together and he could not ask for better friends. Soon he came to ask his father what everything was about, and Billy saw it time to tell Jacob the tiny bit of the family he was leaving out. And, upon discovering that he was about to change as well, Jacob had to decide one very important thing- would he assume the place at the head of the pack or would he pass it off to someone else?
fears: Being alone with out a true soul mate, someone to love and care for, for the rest of his life; losing his friends. strengths: Physical strength, the bond between himself and his pack, as well as other friends; advanced healing, enlightened senses, a large amount of endurance, durability, and strength. He is able to protect anyone, with a large amount of ease, and he definitely has a set of rather strong feelings in his possession. weaknesses: For the time being, Bella Swan; Vampires (debatable), likes: Automobiles, mechanics, the outdoors, hanging out with friends, running, swimming, hiking, and joking around; the spring time, as well as the summer time. dislikes: Edward, Vampires, being indoors for long periods of time, being alone.
facial appearance: When he was younger, he almost had a child-like, round face, but now that he has turned sixteen and gained the blessing of his inner tribal spirit, his face and lost its roundness. His jaw is chiseled, and his nose is a rather normal, almost button-like feature sitting in the middle of his copper face. Eyebrows of medium thickness sit above his almond-shaped black eyes. clothing: Jacob can usually be found in blue jeans and a t-shirt unless he had been outside rough-housing with the boys, or coming back from a night patrol.. or even found sleeping. If not in jeans and a t-shirt, he is usually in some form of shorts- with a shirt being optional. build: He is muscular- and very tone, even for his young age. He stands at a rather tall 6’7” and definitely holds himself well. It could be said that he is made of pure muscle, with out an ounce of fat anywhere on his nearly perfect body. marks/scars: With nearly flawless copper skin true to the Native American heritage, Jacob only has a few scars. He has a few tiny scars on his back, from little accidents or mishaps when out with the boys, or even if something had happened to surprise him the night before. He has a tattoo on this upper right arm- unique to the pack. species appearance: As a wolf, he has nearly coarse, bronze fur. He maintains his kind black eyes somehow, over the sharp teeth and menacing large size. Just as in his human form, Jacob is tall and strong.

roleplay sample: Slowly the beads of rain dragged each other down his window, causing the transparency to fade into a mere opaque image. It had been days since he had even talked to her, but he could not bring himself to leave the house, much less pick up the telephone. His insides still twisted and his heart still ached, and Jacob Black could barely think straight. There was no joy present in his dark eyes, and not even his father could inspire him to roll out of bed. He did not eat; all he managed to do in the twenty-four hour span allowed in a day was crawl out of bed and scurry off into a quick, five-minute shower. Every time he returned to his tiny room, and crawled into the same mattress he had slept in for years. His mind only wandered to her- to how stupid she was; to how unaware of other people’s feelings she was… to how much she had hurt him.
Staring out of that old window, Jacob pulled his blanket over his bare chest. Tears welled up behind his eyes, but he refused to let them fall. He thought himself as stupid to cry over such a stupid girl. And yet, she was not that stupid at all. She was worth his time, and he knew it. At the same time, he knew she only cared about herself. Tensions built between his eyes, caused by the conflicting thoughts battling beneath his façade. Jacob could not let the anger get to him, and the sadness did not need to find its way out either, but he felt so crushed.
‘How could she do that to me?!’ That pair of emotion-heavy eyes vanished behind his eye lids. Securely he kept them closed as his head stayed angled toward that steam-painted window. The cold crept over him, and he somehow felt it- past his warm, Quileute blood. His heart sank to his chest as he thought of it all once more. Muscles relaxed against the sheets, Jacob tried to get some sleep. It was the only thing he could do to get his mind off of her.
