STRONG MINDED
Edward is extremely strong minded, when it come to a specific subject or topic Edward is the first to offer his opinion to come up with a plan, one that he will often stick with and see it though, he is not one that will be easily distracted.
STUBBORN
Edward is certainly stubborn above all possible traits, that he has, he once again is not easily swayed by anything, when he has made his mind up, he sticks with it. When someone tells him to do something, he doesn't usually listen.
OVER PROTECTIVE
again another common trait of his, he is extremely over protective of everything and everyone, that he cares deeply and dearly about, so much so that he will often not tell others information if it is of any possible danger to them. Or if it simply just risks their lives.
CHARMING
Common, trait of his and common among other vampires. Edward does not often try to be charming he simply just is, he will often leave the occasional being dazzled, including Bella, even though she is now a vampire.
ARROGANT
Although Edward is an over all good being he often has a tendency to think himself better than others, and does also tend to take on a lot more than he himself can handle given his current choice of diet.
CARING
A simple trait at that, Edward has a tendency to care a little too much about people close to him, this links to his general over protective attitude to wards both Bella. This also includes his family.
MASOCHISTIC
Edward is certainly masochistic, Edward would soon rather hurt himself than hurt other, and by doing this he feel good about it, at least he knows then that no one else is getting hurt. For example he would rather starve himself than be a moment away from Bella.

detailed history:

Edward’s human life in Chicago was fairly happy and uneventful. His parents were moderately wealthy as his father was a successful lawyer. The biggest worry in his mother’s life was the fact that World War I was raging and Edward was only a year away from the draft, which had been lowered to 18 years of age in August of 1918. By September of that same year, the influenza epidemic hit, claiming the lives of both of Edward’s parents and very nearly taking his own as well. His attending physician was Carlisle Cullen, who saved him by changing him into a vampire. It was Edward’s mother who begged and requested Dr. Cullen save Edward.

Since that time, Edward had passed as Carlisle’s adopted son. He has been to medical school twice, but never practiced. From 1927 until 1931, Edward had a bout of rebellion and went off for a few years on his own, away from Carlisle and Emmett. He figured that he could drink off of humans if they were truly evil, using his special gift (Telepathy) to avoid the innocent. After a while, he couldn’t “escape the debt of so much human life taken, no matter how justified” and returned to Carlisle and Emmett who welcomed him back with open arms. Around 1936, Edward moved to Forks with his family where they encountered the Quileute Indians who have the ability to transform into werewolves. A treaty was arranged stating that the wolves would leave the Cullen's alone so long as they didn’t bite any humans and stay off of the Quileute land. The Cullen's lived in Forks for a few years before moving on to other places.

In 2003 the Cullens returned to Forks. Then in 2005 Edward met Isabella Swan. Her blood “sang” for him and he become infatuated with her. Soon the two of them became friends and later lovers. Months later a no mad tracker by the name of James showed up, whom enjoyed the idea of games and begun to hunt Bella, doing all that he could to protect her, against his wishes Bella later ended up in hospital, where he was forced to drain her blood of the venom James had inserted into her wrist, unsure if he would be able to control himself, with the help of Carlisle, Edward in theory ended up saving her life.

A Year later, on Bella's 18th birthday party that ended in disaster, due to one paper cut, Jasper the new member of their family attacked Bella. Feeling that it was simply no longer safe for Bella to remain with him, Edward left Bella, alone in the forest but made sure she was later found although that was the hardest thing he had ever done, he had no choice.

Edward waited patiently for Bella to collect her thoughts, atleast thats what her face told him she was doing. It was one of the moments Edward really wished he had an insight into Bella's mind. It drove him crazy not knowing what she was thinking about. But there was something in her face that looked uncertain. She either didn't believe he was really sitting there, like normal. Or she didn't want him to be there. Both were painful in his mind, and now more then ever he regretted leaving her before. It looked as though it had done a lot more damage then good.
The room fell deadly silent as Bella sat next to him, everyone waiting to see what would happen. It didn't last long, the class weren't that interested, apart from a handful of individuals...Mike Newton and his thoughts particularly irritated Edward. Still, he ignored them, that wasn't the reason he'd come back, Bella was.
He waited for her to look at him, that would be the only indication that she really wanted to talk.

Frowning, Edward tried to understand her question. For what? It shocked him slightly. Had she moved on? Was she happy he'd left? Unanswered questions that would remain so at present. He knew this was neither the time or place to ask them.
Carefully, he picked an answer that would do for now, he needed to explain fully later on...if she left him. Or atleast when the class were all working, allowing them to talk.
"For leaving." He thought of what Alice had said when Edward had chosen to leave. She all but shredded him to bits, she might be small...but she could get her back up. He laughed softly, she'd been so glad to return. He knew how desperate she was to see Bella. "Alice is happy to be back, she told me to say she'd see you at lunch, and not to try and avoid it...she'll know." He gave Bella an apologetic look, sometimes there was no stopping Alice, he'd never been able to rein her in.

Mr Banner made his way into the class, as always in some sort of rush. Nothing changed.
It took more then a while for the work to be set, and for the class to get into their own conversations. Too long Edward sat rigid and tense, that unusual feeling radiating from Bella as it always had done.
Eventually everyone was busy working and chatting, their thoughts no different then before, and Mike was getting ever more irritating.
"I know I have no right to ask you to listen, but I need to explain my actions, as foolish as they were, as much as I regret it all now, at the time they were for your own good."
Edward knew how pathetic he sounded, like some love struck teenager trying to reason with the girl who just broke up with him.
Bella could easily tell him to go away again, something that - though it would be difficult - he would do for her.
His golden eyes scanned her face, she looked tired, and he knew he'd been part of the reason for it. It was agonising to see.
