three-thirty in the morning was never the best hour for anyone. whether they were the manliest of men or just a normal teenager, it wasn't really considered fun. streets were only filled with drunk people or other stereotypical freaks, the occasional car driving down the street and nearly hitting someone. of course in seattle it was none the better and this was something that willow prentess had already learned. the world was a dark and deadly place - the city size was not necessarily relevant but being as seattle was so big it increased the chances of something happening to her. but she knew self-defense basics and she would do whatever necessary to get back to her sweet baby boy, sleeping soundly back in la push.
but that was perhaps the purpose of this job that willow had taken up, despite the fact it destroyed almost all of her pride but gave her a self-confidence boost. even with that in mind once her shift had ended she had scrubbed her skin clear of all of the make-up to a point where it had taken a soft pink to her face. she almost looked like an over-stressed college students - with the easily stereotyped hair back in a ponytail and large book-bag thrown carelessly over one shoulder. of course she was out of her former attire (or more lack of attire) and into a simple hair of sweatpants and old tank top. of course she wasn't in college though, she didn't have the time or money for it at the moment.
glancing back over her shoulder the rustling of feet behind her did not miss willow's senses, even as tired as she was and how much of a hurry she was to get back to her car. there wasn't anyone behind her of course, but that didn't mean she wouldn't be cautious or paranoid. increasing her pace slightly, she ignored the feeling in the pit of her stomach and resisted from turning around.
