With a sigh Jillian lay down on the grass letting the sun rays warm her up. It was an unusually warm day for autumn and she wasn't about to pass it up. Today she had taken the opportunity to take a look around the town she would spend the next few years in before deciding to go out for a hike. She was fresh out of the academy and in just two days she would start work. Just yesterday she had met her new boss, Charlie Swan, and he seemed to be an alright guy. Although when she had mentioned her plans to go into the forest today he seemed to become a little concerned. That was interesting to Jillian but she ignored it.
For the next few minutes she reflected on the last few years of her life wondering how the spoiled private school brat had become an officer in Forks. She knew what had cause it. Sure when her fathers bank had failed it had been a blow however the family still could afford to send her to school and she was set for College. No it was that arsonist that destroyed her life. Changing it from a bright future to one of vengeance. She only hoped one day she could make the bastard pay.
Getting up she took a long look at the lake she had arrived at. It was calm and beautiful, if it probably wasn't so late in the year she would have been tempted to go swimming in it but for now she would have to make due with hiking around it. It was dangerous what she was doing, walking out here alone but she honestly didn't know anyone in Forks. She let her boss know where she was just to be safe and also decided to carry the pistol that came with the badge. At least she wasn't defenceless, Jillian just hoped it wouldn't have to come to that.
