Serah Sulpicia VolturiCharacter Play-by: Daniella Sarahyba
name: Serah Sulpicia Volturi age: Forever 26 [1,976 years to be exact] gender: Female orientation: Straight race: Vampire, blood birthplace: Rio de Janeiro, Brazil current location: Volterra, Italy occupation: Volturi Wife
personality: Passion flows with every essence of Serah. Life, even through death, is a blessing in her eyes and she holds each day close to her heart. Most vampires turn cold and fragile after years of being frozen, but Serah is strong and still remembers her human life as if she still lived it. Of course, there is a darker side…but even when her hunger takes control; she still manages to remain tame. Never drinking more than necessary, Serah has become part of the council of the Volturi. Her presence is requested at most meetings as she is the only member that still has a strong grip on human reality.
Her spirit is always warm and welcoming, even to the cruelest of people. It isn’t in her nature to be judgmental or scornful. Though, she knows well how to defend herself or those she loves. In a heartbeat, she would kill if her family was threatened. Though she has no extra gift, she still has the ability to feel human emotions…which gives her an edge when it comes to dealing with her enemies. She knows exactly what to say to make them vulnerable to her will. But she only does this in extreme cases.
As for her motherly instincts, she wasn’t sure she had them until Aro brought Jewel home. Near instantly, they took affect…her love for the young newborn overpowering almost all other emotions. Unable to conceive her own, Jewel has become the daughter she always wanted. Helping her through her first months of needing and desiring blood, she and Jewel have grown close in their relationship. She does her best every day to be a good wife and mother to her family.
detailed history: Sulpicia Ana was born one early morning to Cassia and Lucas Santos. Her birth was one of pivotal importance to the newly wed couple. For years they had been trying to conceive and had failed at almost every attempt. The one time they thought their prayers had been answered, Cassia had a miscarriage. Their hearts were shattered and the hope of having their own child faded into darkness. Time passed, and just as the idea of adoption began to run through the couple’s mind, Cassia found herself pregnant. When the newborn’s first cry echoed through the delivery room, tears fell down her mother’s cheeks as she had delivered a perfectly healthy baby girl.
Growing up in the most loving of households, Sulpicia never experienced abuse of any kind. The only discipline she encountered was that of a normal family...timeout as a kid for not doing her chores or grounded as a teen for not making curfew. But even through her punishments, there was never a doubt in Sulpicia’s mind that her parents didn’t love her with all their heart. On many occasions, she would confide in them about boys or about school and friends and each time she felt their relationship strengthen. Perhaps that was what made her mother’s death so hard to cope with…especially since she was there.
Sulpicia was seventeen years old when her mother picked her up from a friend’s house one night. They were talking about this and that on the car ride home, laughing and listening to the radio when all of a sudden, headlights swerved into their lane. In panic, her mother slammed on brakes and tried to steer out of the way, but to no avail. The truck collided into the driver’s side, causing the car to slam into the guardrail and flip. The last thing Sulpicia remembered was hearing her mother’s scream…
After several days of fighting off a concussion, Sulpicia awoke in the hospital to find herself heartbroken with bad news of her mother’s death. In that moment, she wished it would have been her, but by some God’s grace, she remained alive.
For years she had fought with coping with her mom’s absence. It was unbearable at times, the pain literally collapsing in her chest. Tears often threatened the young woman’s eyes…the familiar sting almost always present. Even with her father’s love and support, it was the one thing that could easily break Sulpicia to nothing. That was until she met him.
While in her last year of college, she had received the opportunity to study overseas in Italy. Though hesitant to leave her father, they both agreed it was something she needed to do. It was their one weekend off while there and she decided to take her chance in Volterra. She had read about the architecture, art, and history behind the city and was fascinated. The entire day had been spent touring the museums and buildings, and it was reaching sundown. Head buried in a map, she quickly made her way back to her hotel knowing being alone in any city after dark was dangerous. Without noticing who or what was in front of her, she felt herself knock against an icy cold being. She thought nothing of the body temperature, but more of the fact that she’d just run into someone. “I’m so sorry!” Her frightened voice cried out as she stumbled back, her eyes rising to the man’s handsome face. Without delay, she felt her heart pound beneath her chest…a crimson blush gracing her cheeks. The man introduced himself as Aro Connor, and Sulpicia immediately knew he was the one. She couldn’t explain it, but something drew her to the man that was more than a physical or even emotional attraction.
Returning to Brazil, it took Sulpicia less than an hour to convince her father for them to move to Italy. The love and passion that was apparent in her eyes was enough to show her father she’d found happiness again. The two of them moved to Volterra, and she and Aro began to see more and more of each other. Countless nights were spent together, but for unknown reasons…Aro wouldn’t allow her to touch or even kiss him. All he spoke was that it was too risky or that it might not end well. Obviously this confused Sulpicia, but she respected his desire nonetheless.
Another year passed before Aro finally revealed to her what he truly was. In nature, she was frightened, but she knew his love for her ran stronger than anything she’d ever felt. He filled that emptiness that had caused her countless nightmares of her mother’s screams. Never leaving her side, he healed her pain and slowly mended her back to health. Even after knowing him for over a year, butterflies danced in her stomach every time she saw him. With each glance, her heart jumped with desire to kiss him…to touch him…to be with him.
Her fear subsided as she realized he wasn’t going to harm her, and the more she was around him…the more she longed to be like him. She wanted to feel his touch…to feel the tingle of his kiss on her lips…to live in a world where their passion would never end...
The soft flicker of flames danced on the wall, shadows intermingled behind each gentle movements of air. Rays of silver cast down into the bedroom chamber from skylights above as Sulpicia’s fragile body lay under Aro’s. Her fingers ran lovingly through his hair as his cool kisses trailed over her warm skin…starting at her lips and moving steadily lower. She could feel his hands glide over every curve her figure had to offer, making chills dance down her spine in anticipation. His kisses found their way back to her lips, her passion flowing from the kiss to the man she loved. Her fingers traced down the defined outline of his muscles as her eyes found his… filled with a true desire to be with him...
Their passion lasted long into the night, the candles creating the perfect romantic and ethereal atmosphere…the vanilla scent relaxing both of them in each others arms. Aro’s hands found hers, entwining their fingers. Brown eyes looked up at him for the last time…her heart racing as she knew the moment was approaching. He smiled warmly at her, kissing her lips with an intense passion and love. In his eyes and his smile, she could melt and she soon felt her muscles relax under his kiss. His hand squeezed hers gently, and she returned the gesture. Her eyes closed as she focused on remaining calm, though her heart fluttered wildly in her chest. His kisses trailed once more from her lips, to her cheek, over her jaw-line, and to her neck. “I love you, Sulpicia.” He whispered as he lingered near her neck…his breath trickling at her skin. Her grip on his hands tightened, but he reassured her with another gentle squeeze. “I love you, Aro.” Her voice was shaky but definite. And with that, his teeth sank deep into her neck. Even as a scream escaped her, Aro held her hand…held her body close to his as he tasted her sweet, warm blood. His love somehow overpowering his thirst, he found the will to stop, holding her close to him…never leaving her side as she fought the insatiable desire for blood.
Dark red eyes replaced her once brown ones…her natural sun-kissed skin quite a few shades lighter. But, even as a vampire…she was the definition of beauty. With Aro’s help, she learned to control her thirst…only feeding when absolutely necessary. Growing tired of her old name, she changed it to Serah Sulpicia, keeping some tie to her old life. Even after over 1,000 years, their love never faded. And, when Aro brought home a daughter for them, she was overjoyed…taking Jewel in and raising her as her own.
