It was another one of those cold, miserable fall days in La Push once again. This is how it usually was in the winter in Washington state. You couldn't escape it. If the weather decided to, it would probably dump either freezing snow, freezing rain, or both. On this day, things were somewhat different for 16 year old Daylon Black. She was actually enjoying today's weather, and she decided to celebrate it with a trip to her most favorite spot in La Push ever besides her house. First Beach. Daylon walked along the beach, her light blue Converse kicked around the sand, and some got in her shoes, but she didn't care. It was freezing outside, but even in her pale pink and brown tank top and blue jean shorts, the cold barely registered on her 108 degree skin. As she walked, she stared up at the sky thinking, while running her fingers over her gold locket that she kept around her neck. She sighed and breathed in the salty sea air. She wasn't thinking about anything but being alone and relaxing. She let her self sit down on the sand, then took off her shoes and socks until she was barefoot, and dug her toes into the sand. She laid down closing her eyes, twirling a black curl while slipping into her own thoughts. She honestly thought no one would bother her today. She didn't know she'd be completely WRONG. Outfit: HERE!

Mason suppressed a shiver as he made his way down from the parking lot onto the beach. He had spent the last couple hours driving around checking out places he knew Ash was known to hang out around. His brother had been missing for a few days now and Mason was starting to get worried. Then there was the fact that Kenny had not shown his face around lately. Mom and Dad were going hysterical with worry. Two kids missing, first Kenny and now Ash...
The beach was Mason's last hope, allot of the local kids liked to visit and relax around here and he hoped maybe there might be some sign of him.
As he made his way on the beach he took some time to admire the view. First Beach was a lovely place, maybe not the pristine white beaches one would see in the south but it had its own charm. The cold autumn air gave him a bit of a chill but that's why he was wearing a jacket and jeans. As he looked away from the sea to the beach he caught sight of someone else there.
At first Mason thought he was dreaming. Why would anyone in their right mind be wearing such light clothing? Especially on such a cold day. But there was something else about her that intruiged him. It was when he got closer did he make out some details and noticed that she was young. Really young. At least 16 if not less.
"Hey there, I was wondering if you've seen this guy? Hes my brother Ash and hes been missing for a few days." he said fishing in his pocket and pulling out an image of Ash.

It took awhile for Daylon to snap out of her thoughts when she heard the voice come from somewhere near her. She mentally kicked her self. She knew she should have been way more on alert than she was. She also knew if she was stupid enough, and when she zoned out like that, there was ALWAYS a chance something could happen. She sighed and finally looked up at the person that had spoken. The only thought on her mind was something along the lines of 'oh..my god!'
She looked up at him, barely able to form words. She finally exhaled and stood up. She was tall, but this man was still taller than her. "I-I.." she stutterd then stopped. "No. I've never seen him. I'm sorry." She kicked her self mentally again. She hated that she couldn't help the man. She looked into his eyes again, her thought processes automatically trying to straighten themselves out, but it didn't work. Nothing in her mind worked. She knew what was happening, but she couldn't beleive it. "B-by the way, my name is Daylon. Daylon Black. Yours?" She was surprised she could get the words out. She sounded like a real idiot though.

Mason stared as the girl tried to get her words out and wondered what was wrong. She was acting as if she had seen a ghost, or something weird at least. For a second Mason thought maybe he had done something to freak her out.
"Whoa there, relax." He said, a smile small on his face. There was something about this girl he liked, she was a looker and if it were not for her looking so young he would have probably started flirting with her.
"My name is Mason Hao." he replied uneasily, "Well then. I guess ill keep searching then, have a nice day..." It bugged him that she was another dead end on his search for Ash but that was to be expected. Chances were slim that a random stranger on the beach would know anything about Ash.
With a sigh Mason turned away and started to continue down the beach. A second later he turned his head to look back at the girl. It was odd that despite the cold she didn't seem to be affected. But she didn't seem to be like Kenny in any way..
"Do I know you from somewhere?" Mason asked awkwardly, "Its just you seem familiar for some reason"

Daylon smiled back. She'd never seen this man before but she felt like he knew him her whole life. She laughed and took a few steps closer, only taking a few steps to close the distance Mason put between them, but she still respected his space and stayed out of touching distance from him, although she didn't want to exactly. "I'm not sure. I haven't seen you, or at least I don't think I have." She really wasn't sure at this point of who she knew and who she didn't.
She laughed slightly. She could tell that Mason was wondering why the heck she was dressed for summer in dead winter, but she couldn't tell him. She sensed he was human, and that he was NOT Quileute. She couldn't blow this closely guarded secret. She HAD to keep it. The pack and family she belonged to depended on it..But yet again, Mason was her imprint now, although he probably had no idea what this would mean, but all of this confused Daylon, and somewhat scared her.
She wrapped both arms around her self, mainly to hide the ugly scar that ran down one. She'd gotten to close to one of the other shifters in the pack when they were mad. That was a very BAD idea. She sighed and stopped trying to thing, but again smiled at Mason. "I have a bunch of time, if you wanna hang out and talk." It was true. She knew her uncle Billy wasn't expecting her to be back for awhile, and she didn't have patrol tonight either.

"I'm not sure. I haven't seen you, or at least I don't think I have." Well they didnt know each other. Well then must just be his imagination. Mason nodded before she laughed and wrapped her arms around herself. Was she cold? That's a bit odd but Mason thought nothing of it. All he saw at the moment was a young girl who seemed to be cold.
"Are you alright? You can wear my coat if you want..." he offered. He didn't like to see her freeze if that was indeed why she was wrapping her arms up. He had to continue his search for Ash though, he dearly hoped Kenny didn't have anything to do with it. He'd only found out his brother was still alive recently and still didn't completely trust the fact that he was a vampire.
"I have a bunch of time, if you wanna hang out and talk." that request was very odd for Mason. The two were complete strangers and yet she trusted a random 20 year old man. Either she was very trusting or was able to to defend herself in some way he couldn't tell. Looking into her eyes Mason could see a fire that burned and maybe she was hiding something. They were not golden or red like Kenny had warned him so she wasn't a vampire...
"Um sure... I'm going to just keep searching the beach so your welcome to join me" he replied, he still couldn't understand what it was about her that made him feel awkward. Oh well, he had Ash to worry about for now... At least for now he had company.

She looked down at her arms which were crossed across her chest. She wasn't cold, but thats what it probably appeard like to Mason. "Oh no, thanks. I'm fine though." She smiled at him and shook her head sweetly. She sighed silently to her self and uncrossed her arm to reveal the long ugly scar that ran down her left arm. "I really hate this scar and it kinda..Makes me a bit edgy. If people see it its all they seem to see." She shuffled her feet a little, hoping he didn't ask about the scar. Right now she just tried to cast this from her mind and enjoy just being here in this moment.
She heard his request for her to join him in his search if she chose to. Both her mind and her heart told her she should, because for one she was just a helpful person, and two, she didn't want to pass up being around Mason. "Sure. I think that will be cool. I'll help you search." Daylon wonderd herself how Mason was feeling right now, but she wouldn't as him how he was feeling. At least not yet.
Her mind wrestled with the decision of telling him or not telling him. She honestly wasn't sure which one to do. She knew there was a fifty-fifty chance of him knowing or not knowing about the supernatural, even though he was human. The thing was, she once again rememberd that she was his imprint now, but even though it might be okay now, she wasn't sure how to tell him, and she was even much less sure that she COULD tell him. She once again let this drop. She wasn't alone completely anymore. It felt nice. She loved having someone to talk to and to actually be able to carrie on a conversation with. She looked up to him curiously. "Is there anything you would like to know or talk about?" She asked, her dark brown, almost black eyes were just as curious as her mind right now.

"Is there anything you would like to know or talk about?" Mason chuckled as she posed the question. There was something about her that seemed to draw him closer to her. He had noticed her scar earlier but was reluctant to ask her about it. It just seemed strange to probe, especially since they were essentially strangers.
"Nothing in particular. Ive just been busy the past few days searching for my brother. He went missing and no one has seen him" Well no one but Kenny. He was told the two had been together before Ash disappeared. "I was hoping that maybe he'd be on the beach or something"
They walked in silence for a few minutes... Mason was really starting to feel awkward around this girl. He wanted to ask if she felt the same way. Oh well he had nothing to lose, she was just a stranger really.
"Um, I have to ask... Do you feel some kind of pull between us? I mean, the moment you set your eyes on me I've been feeling this weird feeling... I don't know how to explain it." There he said it... He only hoped she didn't think he was hitting on her.

Daylon continued to walk beside Mason and looked up once again at him. She touched his arm, lightly, for a split second. She knew she could blow the secret just by how hot her touch was. "You'll find your brother. You just have to keep faith and keep your head up. Worrying isn't going to help you though."
That was one weird thing about Daylon. She could cheer someone up and keep up someone's spirit even when she could barely keep her own up. She had always been like that. If she was hurt, she would be the last thing on her mind. She smiled at him as reassuringly as she could. On the inside, her mind was screaming at her that he was the one, and she knew it..Or she wouldn't have imprinted on him. It was common sense.
"I do. I do feel the same way. I-I don't know what it is, and I can't explain it either." Even though she knew exactly what was going on, she didn't know if she would be able to actually explain it herself, but she knew that Mason had to be wondering what was going on himself. She promised herself, and him in her mind to explain it all when the time was right.

Mason simply shrugged... He was relieved she didn't take offense to it, and was even more relived that she felt the same. What was this? He knew some would say love at first sight but Mason wasn't one to put faith into that. Maybe it was something in the air at the beach? Some kind of chemical making them both feel weird... Not that he was complaining, being around her made him feel good. This wasn't good though... She looked way too young for someone his age to be dating. She looked no older than Bonnie.
"Knowing Ash well find him in the next county or something after doing something stupid..." Her words earlier had been nice... He did worry to much. Ash was old enough to be on his own. He didn't need to spend every waking moment searching for him like a lost puppy. Ash had to be alright... "I guess i do worry too much, hes old enough to take care of himself... Its just I may be a bit overprotective of my family sometimes. We lost our older brother awhile ago and I became the oldest. I;m just afraid of losing another brother i guess. Mom and Dad are worried also." he continued with a sigh. Now things were even more complicated that Kenny had come back. He just wished they could all be a normal family again.
"So how old are you Daylon? You don't seem much older than my younger sis... And she's 17..." He really hoped she was at least 18... Then he wouldn't feel so weird for feeling like this around her.
