Where in her luck, Alice happened to be there.
Alice had seen the encounter between Edward and Anna but hadn't seen her let her go. She thought he would eat her and wanted to stop it. But when Anna ran into Alice, she took the frightened girl back to the Cullens in Forks.
It was there she was explained to about the idea of vampires and the likely fate of her parents. She was then given a place to stay and recover. Well, at least that was a month ago.
Now, Anna is staying with the Cullens as like a human part of the family. She attends school and enjoys antagonizing Rose the most. roleplay sample:Early nights, that is what ever professor had to look foreward to. Autumn got it more than most. She had to admit, she didn't look foreward to getting called into work before sunset. But it was a hazard of the job. She dressed quickly and grabbed her make up, hair supplies, and jewelry. She was being rushed and there was a reason for it. Time was of the essence at the moment.
Autumn ran town the halls, her feet barely making a sound and rounded corners as her bag was thrown over her shoulder and she tried to tie her hair back as she went. She knew every short cut and every corner of this school. Her room was on the opposite side of the campus so she had to book it to make it there.
It took less than 2 minutes to make it to her office. Autumn busted through the doors and threw her bag on the desk as she ran over to a bed where there was a teacher standing over a student. The roommate of the girl was sitting in the corner crying.
"Shit." Autumn spoke as she reached the bed. The student had just been in the infirmary earlier that week for a minor cough. Now she was coughing up blood. Great. "Macy, stay with me dear. I am here to help you." She spoke calmly to the girl with a smile. SHe kept the smile on her lips even though she was scared. If this girl died it was on her. SHe had told her earlier the cough was nothing and given her some meds for it. "Professor, can you go comfort the roommate. Tell her things will be alright." Autumn knew how the roommate felt. sHe had been in that place many times in her stay as a student.
Once the professor was gone, Autumn got to work. She hooked the student to an IV and tried to get her on a breathing machine. She injected the IV with a sedative, hoping it would help the girl with the distress. But from the looks of this and how far it progressed, this was a losing battle. Autumn slowed down as the monitors showed her vitals. Macy was sleeping, but soon it would turn to death. This definitely wasn't what she wanted to wake up to.
With a sigh, Autumn took a syringe and injected morphine into the IV line. The best thing she could do at the moment was to keep the young fledgling from being in pain. She turned the volume down on the monitor and watched the line race and then go flat. She turned the monitors off and began disconnecting tubes and the IV. She sighed as she put a sheet over the body. Macy had only been here for a few months. Seeing this really put things in perspective for people. Autumn saw this often. Sometimes she could catch it in time, others like this, death was inevitable.
Autumn walked away and towards the roommate. She sat down in the chair and looked at the girl. Grace had been in with Macy when she had come in for the cough. Grace had been one of Autumns success stories. Grace had been rejecting the change and Autumn had caught it in time to save her. Now Grace had lost her friend and roommate. She put her arms around the girl and pulled her close. "I'm sorry, I tried the best I could. But I know how it feels to lose someone close to you. And I want you to know that I am here to talk if you need it." she comforted the girl. This was the best she could do right now.
An hour later Autumn was alone in the office. She grabbed her bag and walked to the bathroom to finish getting ready by putting on her make up, barrette, and jewelry. Walking back out she spotted the bed with the dead girl laying under the sheet. She walked over to her and bowed her head. "May Nyx be with you." She spoke softly. She hoped the girl was at peace.
She closed the curtain around the bed and went to her desk to start the paperwork. Autumn had to prep Macy to leave. She would need to be buried and her family notified. The latter being the hardest part. Depending on the parents, the girl could be released to them for burial or be buried in the cemetary owned by the house of night. Most of the people buried out there were professors that passed or students whose parents didn't want them because they were marked. She felt bad for those unlucky souls. It just wasn't fair that parents would treat their children like that.
Autumn grabbed the phone and dialed the girl's parents after pulling up her file on the computer on the desk. Her mother answered and stayed on the phone all of about ten minutes. In that allotted time she showed no emotion and said to dispose of the body. Autumn found herself angered by this. She hung up and set the phone back on the cradle before starting on some paper work.
There was a list of things Autumn needed to do now. She had to talk to the high priestess and figure out if they should bury or burn the girl, sign off on the girl's belongings being taken out of the room, secure a home for the girl's cat, and prep the body for a funeral along with orchestrating that and her memorial service. Autumn had taken up the planning of such things when she took on the job as counselor.
She loved the job, don't get her wrong, but Autumn really didn't like talking to the parents who didn't care about their children's deaths. It burned her to the core. As it stood, Autumn felt angry at the mother. Why would you have a child and abandon them or disown them when they don't turn out to be what you wanted them? A parent is supposed to love their child no matter what. People like that irritated her to the core. They had no right to bear children if they were to be that way.
Autumn never gave her parents a chance to disown her when she had been marked. Her and her friend had been marked close to the same time and had run away together. It was a month later that her friend rejected the change. So Autumn knew what Grace was going through all too well. Between her friend Jessica and all her other roommates and boyfriends throughout her student life at the school rejecting, she knew what the emotion felt like. It was what made Autumn a excellent counselor. She could sympathize with the people who have lost people they cared about. And with her being so close to their age, students trusted her more, and opened up easier. SHe was only 20, barely out of the house of night herself. Hell she had only been a full fledged vampire for two years now.
Shaking her head, Autumn shook off the memories. She needed to finish this paperwork so the body could be moved. Autumn needed all the beds she could get. You never knew what the day would bring. SHe could have no use for the beds, or need more beds than she had. It was one of the downfalls of working in a school. You never knew what would happen or who would show up in your office with what ailment. It was a constant surprise when you dealt with teenagers.
