The Hunt (EDWARD)

The anger that had filled her body not an hour before had disipated. Anastasia was calmer now. Once they explained what had happened and why she was a vampire, she understood. Sure, she was a little miffed that she was turned despite not wanting it. That had been the main reason she had been pissed off in the first place.

After calming down and talking everything out, Ana had asked Edward if he would take her on her first hunt. She couldn't go alone and she wasnted some alone time with her brother. He had agreed and had told her to meet him outside. She had nodded and asked to be alone for a moment to change.

Ana dressed quickly. It was then she wished she hadn't shattered her mirror against the wall. SHe needed to come to temrs with this. All she knew was what she had been told while she was a human. She knew why she was turned and the basics, but now that she was a vampire, she needed to know more. This would be a conversation she would have with Edward during the hunt.

With a sigh, Ana walked slowly downstairs. She didn't look at anyone as she walked through the house. She couldn't bear it. No, she kept her head down and walked out the back door as she pulled her hair up into a ponytail. "Now what?" She asked Edward as he has stood waiting for her. She didn't smile. Mostly because she was a little upset still. But she did have her emotions in control, for now.

He waited out side for her out front. He was still upset about the fact that she was just like him now. It would be some thing he would just have to get used to. He didn't want this for her any more than she didn't want it. But now that things were calmer he agreed to take her out on her first hunt. It was not shocking she would ask him. He pulled on old clothes and waited for her out side. He let the air pass through his lips as it was indeed a chilling night to be out in the woods. But Ana had nothing to worry about with Edward being there. Besides he wanted to spend some time with his sister before he was to leave any way.

He waited for her to come out of the house and it no sooner happened as he turned around..."Just because you're immortal doesn't mean you have to show it off...There are hikers in the woods...Here..." He gave her just a plain black thin sweater jacket. It was freezing out. It would be weird to see a male and a female out....And the female with no jacket on...Now that that was out of the way, Edward headed into the woods before their house. He loved hunting near the house. It was safe this way. Especially with a new born not far from him..."You wanted to talk...I can read your mind...Can you at least try and control your thoughts.?" Not the first time he asked that either. But he knew she was still mad at him...It was written all over her face...

Ana sighed as he through the jacket at her. SHe slid it on effortlessly. "I wasn't showing off. I was dressing comfortably." She usually wore a tee and jeans when just hanging around the house. So yeah she knew she didn't need a jacket but she really didn't think she should have one. "Sorry, I didn't think I needed a jacket." She muttered under her breathe. She was so tired of being treated like a child. SHe deserved some respect at least. She was a person with feelings and sure she would never really be 18 but her birthday was just a couple of months away.

Then it hit her, she would never age another day in her life. THis royally sucked. Sure, that meant she would be forever beautiful and youthful like this, but it also meant, no kids, no dying an old lady with her husband. Anastasia really hated this now.She wanted to go off again, but she reigned in that anger and followed Edward into the woods. She needed to control her rage, use it for a good purpose. Not just some stupid reason like this. Okay, so it wasn't a stupid reason. But Edward wouldn't really appreciate being yelled at again by his younger sister.

Ana sighed and closed her eyes. "I think I can. I'm trying. It isn't as hard as you think." She spoke softly. She paused for a moment as she tried to organize her thoughts and keep from watching every little object around her. "I want to know, everything. What I am, what I need to know, I need to know what I am looking at in life. Because I know everyone held back on me as a human. Now I have to know." She spoke trying to get it all out.

"I wasn't showing off. I was dressing comfortably." "Sorry, I didn't think I needed a jacket." "I think I can. I'm trying. It isn't as hard as you think." "I want to know, everything. He sighed...."Carlisle can fill you in on all that...After this I have means to leave....You no longer need me. No one here needs me any more." He hated to admit it. But the family would be better off with out him. He looked at Ana and all he could see now was replacement...His replacement...She was forever 17 as he was...She would never age past that. Maybe he should've just killed her when he was ordered it. But no he tried with all his might to shake that thought out of his head. But maybe things would be better when he did leave..."I only agreed on this because it was you...Anyone else I'd be flying back to Italy right now....Ana, I'm not thrilled with this..I have no reason to be here now..."

He had no reason....The more he looked at it, she was his replacement. The family as falling apart from day one. Ever since he agreed to join the Volturi. Emmett and Rosie are leaving...Jasper and Alice have their own lives to deal with...Maybe Carlisle was right to let him just leave...Edward moved away from Ana...As he tried to get far from her thoughts as possible. He could hear her thinking why? Why? Why? All in her head...She was just as they all were when they were turned...She didn't have a choice...But Edward tried to make a choice for her. But then again no one was listening to him any way. He hated being like this with Ana...But she was his replacement....."Besides...You're my replacement...Carlisle should tell you all this not...me. A Volturi...A bad guy...."

Ana's eyes flashed. "Don't you dare say that. Just because I am a vampire now doesn't mean I don't still need you." She could feel the anger creeping up but she pushed it back. She needed to keep her cool. Now was not the time to go off. She had already yelled at him once, she didn't need to do it again. So she simply sighed and pushed that bad emotion back more. She needed to stay calm.

Anastasia was tired of Edward blaming himself for everything. He wanted to shoulder the blame for everything. It wasn't fair to him. She kept walking on, but then he said something that made her stop and ball her hands into fists. Her teeth gritted together as she tried to push the anger back again, but it wasn't subsiding this time. "You are not being replaced. So stop saying that. Just because you are leaving and I happen to be following in your every step doesn't mean I am replacing you." She spat at him. "I look up to you, your my role model." She added. She was tired of being called his replacement and was tired of all his mood swings. He needed to get things straight in his head.

This was not her fault the way he was these days. Blame the Volturi for that. They were putting things in his mind that would just stick with him. Things said that was even hurtful some times. But, he had heard some things about Ana that he thought that was just true. That the only reason the Volturi left her alive, was so she could be his replacement. And he could become a full fledged Volturi...Things in Forks were not the same.

"Ana....I saved you but think about it for a moment. Why was it so easy to save you from the becoming a meal for a Volturi? They wanted you to stay alive for a reason. So they could get their claws on me..." The more he looked at it....It made sense. He knew this would probably drive Ana off the wall. She was already angry. Then again he read her mind and she was thinking that he needed to get his mind in order.....They all thought that it seemed. They all thought that he was a bit on the crazy side these days...He didn't blame them. He knew this was coming. He was waiting on the right time to tell them that it was time he left entirely....."After this....I'm leaving....You don't need me!" He said hoping this time he could make that stick ion her head....

Edward was making sense, but Ana wouldn't believe it still. "No, no, you are not being replaced. I won't replace you. I will leave before that happens. No. I won't let them." She was adamant that Edward would not be cast out like a dog. He deserved more than that. She wasn't going to let her brother be treated like a common house pet that could be disposed of and replaced at will. If he was that disposable, then so was she. She didn't want to think about it like that.

Ana hated that Edward was leaving. He was just going to up and disappear on her. That wasn't fair. He was always gone and she never got to see him. He was always away. "No, they can't have you. I just got you back and you are just going to leave again? That isn't fair." She pouted. She was tired of him only being around for 2 days then gone for a month. No, this was not cool. Not cool at all. She had to figure something out. She couldn't let him go. Not again.

Anastasia shook her hair lightly making her brown wavy hair move around her small frame. "If you go, you have to take me with you. You're not going to leave me here without me knowing when I will get to see you again." Sure she knew she would miss Kenny, but Edward was her brother, and she needed him in her life. "You're wrong again Edward. You may not think I need you, but I do. Because I wouldn't even be alive without you. You are the reason I walk this earth instead of being Volturi food. I do need you." He was her twin, and she knew she couldn't go without him around anymore. No he was staying or she was going with. SHe wasn't going to change her mind.
