It has been two years since the deaths of the Lost Boys and Max. The Emerson's have abandoned their home and now live somewhere else. Star and Michael are taking their relationship slowly, while Lucy has adopted little Laddie into the family. He seems to be taking the death of his family hard, and there is nothing Star or anyone can do to make him feel better. The Frog brothers are back to selling comics as a cover story, what with them only being 16 they can't really go anywhere for a few more years to really hunt some vampires now that they've officially killed their first group of 'em.
While all those involved in the killing of the Lost Boys get on with their lives, a mysterious girl has been sneaking around the city of Santa Carla without the notice of the Frog brothers. No one has seen her sneak into the old abandoned Emerson house, or seen her riding around on a motorcycle around the beach. The Frog's haven't even seen her enter the forgotten and abandoned cave that the Lost Boys once lived in. So, because no one has noticed what this lone girl had been up to, no one knew that on the night of the new moon she began a very mysterious and powerful ritual.
First in the cave, the girl brought back a very confused Marko. The poor man had no idea what was going on and had almost attacked her, thinking she was the one who stabbed him. After explaining who and what she was to the confused vampire, she quickly got him moving to the abandoned house and she revived the three other boys in the same order that they each died. Once their leader, David, was fully himself the girl was ordered to tell them what was going on. She told them everything, and once she was finished off the five went to the beach where a group of surf nazi's partied around a bonfire.
The four vampires had a blood bath, there was so much blood the girl had to fight herself to not try and raise the dead surf nazis. As the Lost Boys mounted the sand dune of which they had been hiding behind before attacking the humans, they vowed revenge upon those who had caused them to suffer. And being connected to them as she was, the girl could feel the swelling power emanating from the group of boys. She would forever call the night of the new moon, the rising night.
