There had been a silent vow made after her, as he had turned away to leave for France that night. The only one who held his heart in full had left for Italy just as Gabriel Cooper was attempting to escape everything. He wanted to escape the stress he had been enduring by the fact he could not catch her again; he wanted to escape the images and lingering scent of each night they had ever spent together. Gabriel Cooper had wanted to escape the sadness with in his heart and the disappointment he had planted with in his self as he watched her with in the arms of another man. How could he have let this happen? How could he, when they had first met, allowed her to fall free from his grip and flee? Had he scared her away? What had he done that was so wrong in the past? Since she had left again the other night, the vampire had been beating himself up. The remnants of his heart crumbled away yet again; perhaps this time there might be nothing left.
But the promise he had made himself ceased to exist with in poor Gabriel's mind as he walked through the stone streets beneath the cover of a darkened Italian sky. He had no idea where to go, and he had not really a care in the world; he only wished to run into her somehow, by some odd coincidence. With hands in his pockets, he walked breathing in the night air, scanning any piece of scenery around him for a sign of life whether it be human or vampiric. His thoughts lingered on Olivia, and hope incredibly stupid he felt for letting her walk away. "I should have kept running after her..." He shook his head from side to side as his soft eyes closed for a brief moment. "I should have followed her here sooner instead of attempting to run from her..."

The air was warm and musky in Volterra instead of the frigid cold stag nit air in Forks. Olivia had never traveled out of the country, this being her first time in Italy, so far she was impressed. The scenery was amazing, the air was warm with a hint of salt mixed with the smell of roses. The buildings that surrounded her were beautifully decorated, as if fit for royalty and the cobbled streets below were usually crowded with people. But as Olivia's ruby eyes gazed out the window of her room in the Volturi castle, they scanned the now empty streets and let out a sign. The night was quiet, everything was still as if time had stopped. Even the rats that plagued the streets kept quiet. Italy was known for it's natural beauty and romance, it was hard to not surcome to the pleasures it had to offer. But even as Olivia's eyes were fixated with the scenery, her mind was crossed by another. The moment she had stepped foot onto the plane to Italy she couldn't help but think about Gabe. She felt heartbroken, torn inside and she was to blame for it. The first man to have stolen her heart since Michael was no longer in her reach, a burning pain crept inside as it ate away from the inside out. It is unclear, even to Olivia, why she had left Gabriel the way she did. Maybe it was her fear of commitment? Or the fact that she was afraid she would hurt him somehow, letting her sadistic killer habits taking over and eventually their ruin their relationship..but instead she hurt him in a much worse way then she thought possible. But no matter which reason it was, Olivia hated herself for it. When she met him she told him she didn't deserve him and she still felt that way, only now guilt also played a part as well.
Then Vlad crossed her mind, making her body ache even more. Why was she even attempting to date when her heart was still wrapped around the man she loved and still yet couldn't commit to.The man had a hold on her and a strong one at that and maybe that was why. She had only met the man a month or two ago and she was already starting to grow a soft spot for him. He was just like her, wild, blood hungry, and up for anything but for the last few weeks he had turned soft, she didn't know if that was Grace's doing or her own. She didn't know if it was love or not, the fuzzy feeling he gave her every time he was close, but she was willing to find out. Vlad was different than Gabe....and in a way she loved that. She loved the calm and gentle nature of her ex fiancée, but Vlad's powerful and fiery nature complemented hers. He brought the animal inside of her out and let it run loose onto the world, creating havoc and mayhem. He reminded her she was a vampire. But she knew it was wrong for her to treat Vlad like this, to be with him when she also loved another, but her and Gabe were over and there was nothing she could do about it. Olivia was happy with Vlad and her little princess, she wouldn't lie about that, but there had not been a day to where Gabe didn't inhabit her mind. She had to move on and start her new life with her new love and daughter. But she was failing miserably. Olivia had never thought she could ever love again..and now she had to choose between two.
She was slowly going mad and there was no one to save her. She knew Edward was always there for her, but he wasn't always the thing she needed to make her feel better. Turning around she walked out the room and headed down the hallway, her heels echoed through the halls. She needed to get out of the confines of the castle and into the open air, thinking it would help her nerves. Why am I such an idiot? she beat herself up. The moment she stepped outside into the empty streets surrounding the large fountain outside the castle she felt a sudden breeze rush by her sending a chill down her spine. The breeze was cold, almost unnatural. But Olivia just shook it off and started towards the large fountain in the middle of the market. The moon was full and it was bright, giving Olivia enough light to see where she was going, not that she would need it anyway. She stopped in front of the fountain and looked down, her fingers intertwined with each other until they were broken apart by the movement of her hand reaching into her pocket and pulling out a gold coin. They say if you tossed a coin into the fountain and made a wish, it would come true. Olivia didn't believe in that but didn't stop herself from doing it anyway. She closed her eyes and held the coin close to her chest, thinking of her wish she tossed the coin into the fountain. A small thud was heard as it dropped into the water and floated down to the bottom. Another sign escaped her lips, as her mind crossed Gabe once more, she was convinced her wish to be in his arms again would never happen. Perhaps the waltz below the dark night's sky through the idle streets of Volterra, Italy was the going to win her back by any means, but at least he could say he had tried. Gabriel could attest that he had flown half way around the world to see a female he still loved and cared for once again- an emotion of which those who maintain Volterra would certainly deem as a weakness. He cared not of their feelings toward him because, as far as he was concerned, he meant nothing to them; he cared not of their tactics nor of their rules, though he subconsciously followed them. His eyes followed the glowing outline of the castle atop the hill, above the rest of the buildings as he came to a halt as he entered the city square, where the large fountain sat alone, aside from the only other figure standing with in the square.
His eager eyes gazed upon the feminine figure as a familiar feeling doused his body like a cool breeze from the south, carrying the chill of the antarctic upon its gallant body. Trickling down his spine, Gabriel could feel every moment of her touch return to him and his breath escaped his lungs, to dance with the frigid air's particles. There she was, the girl he had been searching for- his purpose for coming to Italy, casting a coin into the fountain he had stumbled upon. He had thought his mind was going to allow him a much more subtle approach to her, but he could not stop himself. A quick reaction time had granted him no time between spotting her familiar figure and his rush to her. Though he knew there was a chance she would attempt to return any surprise embrace from behind, Gabriel could not help himself. His heart beat wildly, in his mind at least, as he once more wrapped his cold arms around her body and he closed his eyes, moving to quickly speak as he did so. "Don't be startled," His gentle voice whispered into her ear. "If you don't want to turn around and see me, please let me know.. I will release you from these empty arms and turn away from you and your soul..."

With every unnecessary breath she took the more she let her mind run wild. The only thing keeping her calm was the stillness in the air and the scent of flowers planted around the square. So many images of their time together flashed past her eyes, bringing light to her darkened vision. It was clear to her that she missed him, the moments they shared together could never be erased from her memory, permanently etched into her brain and nor did she want them to. Her body craved for his warm embrace around her cold, dead body once more. For his soft poetic words to dance up to her ears, soothing her wild nature. The euphoric high she got from him when his lips mingled with hers. It was all too much for her to bare and for the first time in over a century her heart felt complete and empty all at the same time. She would of done anything just to be near him again, even if it meant her own demise.
A slight shiver ran down her spine as a sense of fulfillment took hold of her like the air that surrounded them. The strong, overwhelming smell of absolute bliss filled her nose and made her heart flutter in her chest. The heaviness that filled her heart was suddenly lifted and now she could feel herself floating off like a stray balloon in the air. It was him. She knew it even without turning to look. But for a moment she thought her mind was just playing tricks on her and it wasn't until his arms wrapped themselves around her petite frame did she finally come back down from the sky, her feet planting firmly on the ground. He was her rock and her anchor. He was the only thing keeping her from drifting off like a fallen leaf caught in the wind. "Don't be startled, If you don't want to turn around and see me, please let me know.. I will release you from these empty arms and turn away from you and your soul..." A soft smile crossed her face as his words danced from his lip to her ears. His words were the lyrics to the music they would produce every time they were alone, their bodies were the instruments and when they were brought together beautiful music could be heard. She didn't think it was possible, for him to be here, with her. But she wasn't going to fight it and instead wanted to hold onto him with every fiber of her being. "Please...don't let go. I'm afraid that if you do I would float away and never be able to return again." she whispered back to him, moving her hands to rest on his arms and turning to face him. His gentle eyes on her made her feel whole again, as if her heart had been revived and was now beating rapidly in her chest and for the first time in months she finally felt human once again.
