The house was silent, of course it usually seemed that way when people were doing their own things. Well, silent to humans, to a vampire it was still somewhat loud. But even for this small amount of peace she was happy.
Esme Cullen was leaning over a table, blueprints were sprawled across it. Presently she was renovating a home in Canada. Renovating was her passion after all and when you are a vampire why not do what you love? This home was in need of much work, it was old and dilapidated, practically condemned, but it was perfect for Esme to work on. She worked away, not once taking her eye off her work until her thoughts drifted to what her family members were doing.
She set her pencil down and pulled up a chair as she thought, ‘I wonder what they are all up to…’ her thoughts drifted to her husband and she melted happily in those thoughts until she remembered the task at hand. “Back to work” she muttered as she took up the pencil again and worked away, the thought of Carlisle still in the back of her head and every once in awhile she would slip and it would take over and she would smile joyfully until she snapped out of it again and continued. Inwardly she wondered how long she would let this continue before she went to go find her husband.

[/b] Jasper asked. Esme sometimes needed supplies and such. He would venture out into the human infested world if he had to. His control had improved quite a bit since Bella's scent was lingering permanently in the Cullen confines.[/blockquote][/center][/ul]

Esme didn’t move from her spot as Jasper spoke, after all, there was no sneaking up on each other in a house full of vampires. “No, I have everything I need. Thank you.” She told him. Some of her caramel colored hair fell from behind her ear but was quickly put back in place with a quick movement before she continued. She added something to the sketch before placing the pencil behind her ear and turning to Jasper, “However, I would like it if you would calm down.” She told him kindly, she was worried about how stressed Jasper had been lately, “Okay?” She knew why he was acting that way and she even felt the same way, however she didn’t let it show as much as he did. She felt her worries come forward and turned back to her work as a form of distraction but that did little to help. After adding more to it she frowned widely before backing up to look it all over, “I think I should start over.” She muttered, “This isn’t good…” she had felt this way a lot lately and knew it due was the threat slowly moving closer to them. It threatened the peace of her family and the thought of losing her ‘children’ or husband had created such a distraction that she couldn’t enjoy her work like she once did. She shut her eyes tightly and breathed in deeply before opening her eyes and letting her happy demeanor return. She turned to Jasper Hale once more and smiled, “It will all be okay.” She said, more for her own benefit that that of Jasper’s.

[/b] For a moment he thought he was bleeding emotion again. It happened sometimes when it got too much, he was depressed or he was too distracted. He didn't think he was though and so worked on loosening the muscles as though they could eer possibly be bunched together. He was glad Esme was fine at the moment. He didn't really want to venture into town. He had been happier since he had left school even if trouble was brewing ghastly details for them to suffer over. You would never know what Jasper was feeling if he took the care to be suspicious of those around him. If Jasper wanted he would be emotionless, expresionless and shut off. He could shut off his emotion completely, but that was a scary thought. What if he didn't get them back? "Of course it will," Jasper said though training and experience informed him that may not be the case. Doom and gloom didn't suit him though. "I'll make sure you know how to defend yourself," fighting, was not something he wanted to teach them but perhaps it was time. All vampires knew how to but the Cullens did not. he specilised in newborns and that put them at an advantage; he knew how to efectively deal with them.[/center][/blockquote][/ul]

All was still and quiet as doctors worked to get the heart of a human thrumming again. They shocked her over and over again, until the monitor beeped. They smiled and cheered as the human started breathing again. The doctor- the gorgeous, pale-skinned blond- smiled at his team of doctors and nurses and congratulated their hard work. "I must get home to my wife and children. They might be wondering what's keeping me so long." He murmured, just loud enough for the human doctors to hear. He smiled and waved with a swift movement, and walked out of the room of laughs and claps of hands. He walked down the stairs, smiling as every inch took him further to his family. The blond waved goodbye to the receptionist and swiped his card, pressing a button saying he was leaving. He walked out the door of the hospital and found his nice black car. He pressed a button on his key, and found himself satisfied with the beeping sound the car made. The doctor looked around to see if there were any humans, and he ran is vampire speed to his car. He opened the door and climbed in, pressing his key in the ignition and pressing the button. The car revved to life and Carlisle was on his way home.
He was so familiar with the road, he could've closed his eyes and driven the entire way like that. Be he liked being safe, not a safety hazard for humans. He drove faster than the speed limit though, as all of the Cullens do. Within five minutes, Carlisle found himself grinning ear to ear. He pulled into his enormous garage and turned the car off as soon as it was parked. He climbed out, locking the car. He walked into the door of his garage, glad to be done with work for the weekend. Carlisle followed his wife's smell all the way upstairs and into her study. He smiled, knowing she was working on her big project she'd informed the doctor on the night before. He saw Jasper and nodded in a formal greeting. He walked over to his beloved wife and smiled. "Esme," he whispered, holding his arms out for her.

"I'll make sure you know how to defend yourself.”
That was all it took for Esme’s heart to leap, metaphorically or course. Her breath caught and she shut her eyes tight. If this was true it could possible mean losing a member of her beloved family, something Esme dreaded more than anything. She opened her eyes slowly and sighed lightly, “Are you sure that is necessary? I mean, is it really that much of a thre-” but she was cut off by the sound of Carlisle’s car approaching and she knew he would be there within minutes, if not seconds, and she didn’t want her sudden worry to burden him too. She regained her composure and waited for Carlisle to come in, like she knew he would. She looked at Jasper, letting him know that now was not the time, before setting a smile on her face.
Just as predicted Carlisle found his way to her study and he was happy to see her, it was the same for her. After giving Jasper a polite nod Carlisle opened his arms for her and whispered her name. She loved him just as much as she did the day he turned her, more if that was even possible. “Carlisle.” Esme whispered sweetly before she met his embrace. “What took you so long?” she asked but she didn’t care for the answer, she was just happy he was home at last, “I missed you…” she added quickly, as if he didn’t already know that factoid.

Yes. He did think it was necessary. He didn't like hte idea of Esme or Rosalie fighting but it looked like it was going to be necessary. If thye were to step in with the situation in Seattle they would need to be able to fight. This wasn't going after one vampire and swarming him in a Ballet Studio. This was far different and a vampire who didn't know what they were doing they could easily get themselves killed. It was easy for a newborn to get ahead of a mature vmapire without any training or skill. Newborns intelligence were generically lower through the haze of blood lust and expected only the obvious but sometimes that was all they needed. One false move and you could be so easily ripped into little pieces and set on fire.
Jasper nodded. not now. Carlisle didn't need the grief. Sooner or later they would have to face then ewborns in Seattle. It was a future Jasper could see coming clearly. Jasper backed off. He could smell the lingering traces of blood clinging to Carlisle. "I trust your day went well,"

The young blonde vampire smiled. He saw that worry crossed his wife's face before she'd seen him. Jasper and Esme must've been talking about the war. "This man had all seven arteries closed, and he needed surgery. It took longer than expected, sorry, love." He appologized to his wife.
Carlisle nodded towards Jasper. "Yes, my day was fine. Except for that three hour surgery. How was yours?" For some reason, he felt irregular in this room. He spent many days in it with his wife, it was now like a piece of him. But something was strange...

Esme noticed something different in his stance, however slight it may have been she knew Carlisle almost as well as she knew herself and something was off. "What's wrong love?" she asked him in a worried tone, "Is something different?" her face full of concern for him.

[/b] Jasper said responding to Carlisle's emotions. He felt...out of place? It was the only way to describe it. Carlisle had to work with humans, he had to save lives, he had to be around blood and hospitals and work long shifts because he could, because he was better, because he loved to. Sometimes he was away too much and they missed him, especially Esme, who always missed him, and could feel the distance all the more clearly. "My day was not worthy of note," He said trying to lighten the mood.[/blockquote][/ul]
