At least she moved somewhere that I have been to… Logan thought briefly. Most likely it wouldn’t have been a problem at all but it made it easier to know. Summer had a house somewhere out in Forks Washington, couldn’t get more rural than that. Madison was staying there and Logan hoped that maybe, just maybe, he would be able to get the chance to talk to her alone for now. Right now he really didn’t have a plan much at all, just wing it was his way. It wasn’t often he had a well thought out plan anyway so he was used to it. Lucky on his part, Forks was never the place people went for a tan. The sun wasn’t a very high occurrence there plus the cover of the trees helped greatly. During the last few years Logan had known exactly how to navigate through the woods. It was so much different than the concrete jungle he grew up in but also similar in ways.
For instance, the forest had trees but the city had a lot of people that you had to dodge so in a way they were like those trees. You couldn’t plow them by. Logan wore a plain white t-shirt along with his US Marines jacket with the logo and his name over regular blue jeans; under that white shirt stayed his dog tags. Logan didn’t carry clothing with him, when he needed to change his clothes he just simply bought an outfit and switched out of it, unless he was dirty/covered with blood. Then he would zoom in and zoom out with it in hand, afraid to be discovered. Ever since he had been transformed into a vampire, Logan gained some new luring elements to his body. His voice was more velvety and fluid like than previous years ago. He also looked slightly different but you could most likely still tell it was him. Logan traveled swiftly along the woods, he had fed earlier on an unexpecting and unfortunate deer. His thirst was controlled.
Humans were easier to resist now, not like it had been when he first tried out the new diet. The first few months had been hard, but Logan tried shifting into seeing humans more and more in his daily life instead of ignoring them to get used to the scent. It is working. That was the one thing Logan missed right now. Food. The food you didn’t have to fight or kill for, the kind that you stick in the microwave or grab from the pantry. Hot melted cheese on top of crust smothered with tomato sauce burning your tongue. Even though as a human he had hated when he was burned now he would give almost anything just for it to be able to. Glancing around for a moment he noted that he was close to the home. He stopped dead in his tracks for a moment, gathering possible game plans into his head. He could either show up at the house and knock at the door and risk being seen by someone he didn’t want to be seen by or he could spy in the window to check out who was in there.
Wow…I went from regular guy to creepy immortal I-stalk- you- through- the- glass guy. And you’d think I’d get an Emmy for this kind of stuff… He thought, deciding that was in fact the correct way to go with. He could always do a ding dong ditch but he didn’t really want to. If he observed for long enough that only Madison was in the home then he would knock. Never before had he caught the scent of Madison nor Summer nor her husband so he didn’t exactly know what to expect as far as their scents went. Of course he could always see by how many hearts were beating but he didn’t want to concentrate on that one bit with her there. He soon found the house and approached it as a regular human, walking instead of speeding. He took a deep, unneeded breath and started toward one of the windows, immediately picking up two heartbeats at least as he peered through one of the windows.

Maddie smiled as she looked down at Mia playing on the ground she picked up one of her shirts and folded it nicely, she was getting used to being independent sure it was annoying but it was something she had to get used to which was really her fault. She could be living a carefree life of a normal twenty year old but she was the one that got knocked up in high school then her great boyfriend left her because he had better things to do in life. She closed her eyes and put down the shirt down and sighed. Finally she was done with the laundry. Maddie picked up the laundry basket and brought it to the dinning room table placing it on top of it. “I’ll put that away later,” she mumbled as she pulled her blond hair back into a neat ponytail.
After walking back to the living room where little Mia was playing Maddie plopped down on the couch. It was nice to have her chores done; now the last thing to do was put Mia to bed in an hour. She smiled once again looking at her daughter. Even though having her made the guy of her dreams leave she couldn’t help but love Mia. It wasn’t her fault that her father left that only meant Maddie had to love her twice as much as a mother and a father.
After a few moments she stood up and walked over to Mia who was already yawning, putting her to bed early wouldn’t hurt anything, she had done a lot today. The park, and hiking in the woods (although Maddie had her on her back the entire time). “Time for bed sweet heart” she said as she picked Mia up over her head and spun the little girl around in a circle earning a little giggle.
After putting Mia to bed Maddie went back downstairs to pick up the toys that the little girl been playing with, she yawned as she picked up the last of the toys and tossed them in a box before sitting on the couch once more.

As he peered through the glass around the room, taking up the appearance before his eyes landed on a little being playing innocently on the carpet. This confused him greatly. There hadn’t been a baby in the home last time he last set eyes on his family. It was strange for sure but his curiosity over took him as he wondered whom this child belonged to. Shrugging slightly to himself, Logan kept watching. To his astonishment, the child actually did look slightly like his sister, but that couldn’t be. She wouldn’t… Then again Logan has been considered dead for the past few years, anything could have happened.
She could have been married and had 3 children for all he knew…but if that were so true then why would she be living with Summer? His thoughts once again puzzled him when an unthinkable thought once again crossed though his thoughts. As much as they tried to bud into his thoughts, Logan refused and kicked them out once again. After another few minutes there came the face of his sister carrying a load of laundry. She placed it onto the table and mumbled to herself about not folding it now. Yes, even though the barrier walls of the home Logan could still hear her words. He would wait until the child was sleeping, he wasn’t sure how Maddie would react to his visit and he didn’t want the child to be there.
Resentment and second guessing filled Logan’s thoughts up once again as he wondered if he were truly doing the right thing. Maybe, just maybe, it would be better for Maddie to go on and live her life and move on without him. There was another thought that she might need him and that brought out his protective side. Overall he knew that if he didn’t do it right now there would most likely be no chance of catching her alone again. Ducking a bit more under the glass to prevent from being seen, Logan still watched as she sat down on the couch and watched the little girl play with a smile until the baby began to nod off. Maddie slid off the couch and picked the sleepy girl up, twirling her in the air and heading off toward the stairs. Logan sighed and turned around, facing the forest. When she came back Logan would knock on the door, not the window. He had played the stalking game long enough for one decade.
Gazing into the forest he tried to plan out a situation in his head, what he would tell her when she asked how he survived and where he had been. Logan wasn’t good with predicting situations, as most knew. He has been following the same prediction for years now and that was to wing it. When he looked up into the living room again he saw that Madison has returned and was taking her place on the couch once again. Crouching for a moment, Logan stood up and started toward the front of the home, walking to the front door, laying his finger on the doorbell, and forcing it down to create a jingle that ran throughout the home. He took a deep, unneeded breath to try and still the rustling of his nerves, but that was unsuccessful.
