Alina Jaycee ArrowCharacter Play-by: Nina Dobrev
name: Alina Arrow age: 16 gender: Female orientation: Straight race: Human birthplace: La Push, Washington current location: La Push, Washington occupation: Student
personality: Alina is very strong willed and independant and has never let others choose for her. Since she was young, she's always wanted a say in her own life. If people tell her no, she'll find another way. It's hard to gain her trust, but if you do manage to, she'll believe everything you say. That can make her a bit gullible, but her friends watch out for her (She thinks).
Alina will go to the ends of the earth for the people she loves and same goes for getting what she wants. She doesn't stop for anything and if you get in her way, she'll tear you to shreds. Everything she does is done with passion and ambition. She's a true dreamer and a firm believer in love. detailed history: Alina was born and raised in La Push, Washington. She can't remember any other place but she loves it there. Both her parents lived there as long as anyone can remember and her father is one of the tribe elders. She went to school in Forks for the first three years of her life since her mother works close to that town, but switched to the reservation school in third grade when her mom was laid off. She never went to preschool.
Alina hated switching schools and she thought about running away many times. When she shared this with her mom, she was taken to a therapist. She hated going there more than anything else because she was always frightened that they would say something was wrong with her. She went to the therapist until fifth grade when she bargained with her mom and decided to keep a diary instead. The only reason her mother agreed to this was because she intended to read it and keep an eye on Alina, though she didn't know this.
Alina kept the diary until seventh grade when she caught her mother reading it. She had a huge outburst and refused to speak to anyone but her older brother Trey until her parents took her to a psychologist. She went there only once before flipping out and refusing to go anywhere near the psychologist's office. Nothing was actually wrong with her, but she didn't know that and neither did her parents. In eighth grade on her thirteenth birthday, nobody got her anything except Trey, who got her a dog named Benji that she loves with all her heart. The only thing that kept her from running away then was Benji.
Benji was hit by a car when she turned fourteen, which led her to run away for a year. She came back hungry and a lot thinner than she used to be when she was fifteen. Since then, she bargained with her parents and they let her move in with Trey, who is now nineteen. She still lives with him on the reservation.

Elizabeth walked to the pitch, carrying her Comet 260 as carefully as she possibly could, as her broom was her prized possession. Sure, some of the bristles were starting to fall out, and sure, the handle was chipped in a few places, but this was the broom she'd learned to fly on, and she wasn't going to fly with any other one quite yet; she'd grown rather attached to it. She was a little early, so she kicked off the ground and zoomed around the pitch once or twice to get her muscles warmed up. Her broom may have been old, but it didn't restrict her speed the least bit. The wind whipped through her hair and everything around her was a blur. Elizabeth hadn't flown since she'd been back home in Wales and she'd forgotten how much she loved it. After her practice laps (which she wasn't the only one who'd done so), she landed smoothly back onto the pitch. Tryouts were about to start now.
Elizabeth sat down criss-cross on the grass and listened to Riley's instructions, paying more attention than she ever had before in her life. First, they'd be doing some practice flying. Great, I've gotten a head start! she thought enthusiastically. After the practice flying, Chasers would try out, then Beaters. Seekers, the position Elizabeth herself hoped for, would try out after the Keepers. She scanned her competition - she noticed that even though she was the tallest out of all the players trying for Seeker, she seemed to be the most lightweight, which would put her ahead in the rankings. Elizabeth was looking forward to examining everyone's strategies and noting which ones she hoped would make the house team. Even if she didn't make it, she wanted a great Slytherin house team.
During practice flying, Elizabeth zoomed in front of almost everyone, only lacking behind one boy trying for the position of Keeper. She blamed it on her broom, not her skills, and besides, he wasn't even her competition. She loved the feeling of flying, and was happy she was getting more practice before the actual tryout. Her hair was pulled back, but a few loose strands whizzed around her face, but it didn't really affect her. Nearing the end of practice laps, she slowed down until she was almost at the back of the formation, that way she could conserve her energy for the tryout. Once it was done with, she showed off before landing, taking a few wide turns to get back onto the ground. Elizabeth couldn't wait to show off more of her skills when searching for the Snitch.
During the Chaser tryouts, Elizabeth watched from the lowest row of the stands, still trying to save energy. She gulped down some water to make sure she stayed hydrated and tried not to fidget too much. She noticed Adrian was trying out for chaser, and that he had a nice strategy. Some of the other players were also good, but she spied a lot of fellow Slytherins who she knew wouldn't be put on the team. During the Beater tryouts, the players who would be chosen were definitely evident, because half of them didn't seem to have the right build, and most of them looked more like they were playing a completely different game. Almost everyone trying out for Keeper did a good job, so she knew that it would be a tough decision on Riley's part. Finally came the Seeker tryouts - Elizabeth was ready and had plenty of energy and experience; she just knew she had this in the bag.
Elizabeth listened as it was explained that several Snitches would be released from a box down on the field while the players would be flying overhead. There were five of them, and quite a few people were actually trying out for the Seeker position, definitely more than she had expected. A few of them seemed like adequate competition, but some of them obviously didn't have a clue what they were doing. Whoever caught these Snitches would face each other in a battle for a single Snitch. Elizabeth kicked off faster than anyone else and took her signature spot at the top of the goalposts that stood at the left edge of the field. It was the place she literally always waited during impromptu Quidditch games with her friends before the whistle was blown. She closed her eyes for barely moments and focused on the sound of the whistle. When she closed her eyes, she saw a tiny Snitch whizzing around. This is what I'm looking for, she repeated over and over again in her head. Finally, the sharp sound of the whistle was heard, and Elizabeth flew off to the other side of the field.
The commotion was great as several Slytherins were all looking for the same Snitch, but Elizabeth knew better; she had a strategy. She knew that two of the Snitches had already been spotted and that everyone was going for them, but she flew in the opposite direction, knowing that all five of the golden balls wouldn't hang around in the same place. Besides, it seemed that only she and a few other people had thought to look on the other end of the pitch. Elizabeth heard a tiny rustle in the air, like quickly beating wings, and a flash of gold passed by at the speed of light. Quickly and stealthily, she whizzed off behind the Snitch. A male hoping to get the position followed her, most likely knowing that she had seen something. Still, Elizabeth didn't worry about it because she had noticed that he was trailing behind her. The Snitch hovered in a zigzag formation above her head, which she didn't notice in her trail of thought. The other boy was starting to catch up with her. Panicking, she remembered the move she'd managed to perfect just last year during a game with her cousins, before her mother had passed on - the Wronski feint. Suddenly, the moves needed to perform the tactic danced their way into her mind. The boy was just behind her now. Elizabeth pretended to be excited and dipped down into a low dive. The boy followed, much to her relief. She stopped, but he didn't seem to notice. The boy whizzed right by her, still looking for the Snitch that wasn't there. Elizabeth made a wide loop and flew quickly up. The golden Snitch had darted all the way across the field, but the boy was still distracted. No one else had noticed the Snitch she was tracking, which excited her even more. She whizzed across the field, slowly gaining speed, extended her left and....WHOOSH! She swerved, wobbling a little, but snatched up the ball in her hand. She gripped it tightly, a relieved grin spreading across her face. Elizabeth was delighted! She performed a mini victory lap, flying in a little circle around herself, and then dived down to the ground, Snitch still in hand. She landed with a little "THUD!" because of the speed she'd been flying at. Elizabeth grinned, knowing she was in the running to make the team now.
