An Uglies, Pretties and Specials RPG

Imagine a world where, on your sixteenth birthday, you were surgically altered to be flawless, and so beautiful it almost hurts to look. Well, welcome to the future, where no is who they seem to be. There are the Uglies--the teenagers anxiously awaiting the day they turn sixteen and are made into the supermodels they idolize. There are the Pretties, divine creatures created by a surgical knife, who spend their days partying and trying to get bubbly. And then there are the Specials, superhumans designed to help keep order in the city--and eliminate anything that threatens that disturb that order. But what the citizens don't know is that, along with their physical appearance, the Pretties minds are also altered when they have their surgery. Lesions are implanted in their brains, which dull their senses and cause them to comply to whatever the city says. Of course, there are always a select few that manage to break through the haze and cause trouble, and that's when the Specials are called in.

But recently, the Specials have been acting out, and taking control of their own lives. So they were driven out of the city--along with a group of runaway Uglies and Pretties called the Smoke--by a team of horrifying new creations. Seeing the Specials weren't cooperating, the city ordered the making of a New Generation, which consists of Littlies (children under 12) made into killing machines. The city is losing control over their monsters, though, and murders are breaking out everywhere. This world is starting to look very...ugly.

An Ugly World is based on the book series by Scott Westerfield. Our site is semi-advanced, short-application roleplay where you can be any character you want. The site was recently remade, so it's a little slow right now, but we've been working on getting it started again.
