In-depth Analysis
Personality: When first looking at Mark you will think of him as just a normal guy. And he used to be just that until things fell apart with his sister. Since her disappearance Mark has become alone and cold to the world. He has a great dislike of large groups of people. Making friends is not an easy task for him. The one friend he does have came from the two of them connecting over something they could not change and a love of cars.Jeremiah was a man that he saw as an equal, even though within the ranks of the pack he was higher than him. Mark is cold to those he does not know and it will take weeks for him to warm up to someone. The only exception to this is with other werewolves that Jeremiah brings to the pack. Along with any weres or shifters that ask for his protection. He may be cold but he is still a good man.
The pack is where Mark feels safe, it is something Mark has come to love and he will protect every member of it with his life. He is honest and trustworthy to those around him; outside of the pack the only secret that he keeps is what he is. It is because of these traits and along with being close friends with Jeremiah that he was given the position of Geri in the pack, second in command.
While Mark may be alone most of the time, he is extremely cautious of every situation. He uses his senses and trusts his guy, which has yet to fail him, to deal with every situation that comes his way. Although Mark is a loner and enjoys being alone. Being with a few good people doesn’t bother him too bad. He secretly wishes that a strong willed dark haired, dark eyed beauty will come along and help him to become part of the world again and become like his old self.
Detailed history: Mark was born as the middle child to a small town family. His family and he grew up and lived in one of those towns on the edge of the large city. Everyone knew everyone else in the town and very little could happen without someone finding out. Mark’s family consisted of his parents, older brother, Max, him and their younger sister, Ava. When Mark was 15 his older brother began teaching him about cars and engines. This quickly became a hobby of his and he took great pride in any work her did.
It was about two years later that things fell apart for him. Max had gone off to college and Ava had been acting weird the past two months. One night Mark caught Ava sneaking out with an extra change of clothes. Wondering what she was doing he followed her into the woods. Watching her from his hiding spot, he watched her bones ripple under her skin before her skin split open. Fearing for his sister, he abandoned his hiding spot and ran to her. Just as he reached her the shift completed and before him stood a great wolf. Backing away slowly he turned to run as a clawed paw struck out and tore open his back. The pain overcame him and he blacked out. The next thing he remembered was awaking to pain searing his back and being in a hospital with worried doctors, friends and family around him. It was a week after he woke up that they finally told him his sister was missing. That she had been missing for two weeks, since the night they found him bleeding to death in the forest.
After hearing this news Mark shut down. His life had been about protecting his little sister and now she was gone. The image of that wolf kept popping into his head but his gut told him to keep his mouth shut so he did. It was at the time of the next full moon that Mark learned what had happened to him.
His wounds healed fast than the doctors expected and they released him after three weeks of being kept in the hospital. On the night of the full moon Mark’s gut told him to go out so out he went. He ended up wandering to the last place where he had seen his sister. Staring up at the moon through the trees, the change came. A scream that turned to a howl escaped his mouth as he underwent the first change of his life alone. Mark put a lot of time into figuring what happened to him. He had become a werewolf that much he was sure of and he knew that he needed to get away from his family soon. He waited until he graduated to leave. He told his parents that he wanted to spend some time in the states , to get to know a new culture. His parents saw no harm in this; not to mention he was 18, so he went without trouble.
Mark moved to Washington and rented a small apartment. He began job hunting for the only job he knew how to do, mechanic. Finding work at a local garage, Mark started saving his earnings, planning to use it to help him find his sister. For three years Mark built up a large savings and in that time he met Jeremiah. The instant the two met they each knew what the other was. Mark talked it over with Jeremiah and agreed to join his pack. Mark partly did this, hoping it would help him to find his sister, who he was certain was also a werewolf.
Mark soon quit his job at the garage and opened his own auto shop that Jeremiah agreed to co-own with him. They named the shop Transformation Auto, finding it amusing to them at least. Mark does most of the work on the cars since Jeremiah has a job of his own. Mark doesn’t mind it though as it is his passion. The shop has also become a hangout for members of Jeremiah’s pack and a place where other weres and shifters can seek protection.
