A brown wolf stood there, its tail stood still, on its back had been some uneven lumps, the fur covering the skin which has been branded, the wolf stared to the scenary around it, in front of her. A dress held in her mouth, folded neatly, lightly bit upon. She dropped it, her eyes a bright silver, that could only be matched in beauty with the moon.
The jaw dropped, and the dress fluttered to the ground showing a massive sharp canines, the dog was large, in fact maybe a little bit taller smaller than a horse, she was the shortest of her kind. She took a step forward, this area was nice.. to shift. She looked around, she had been up wind. Her feet pawing at the ground, as her claws scratched against it. This was Sythe, atleast.. her true form.
It felt good to be out of her skin her muscles seemed to ache for this feeling, she hadn’t been in three years, aside on full moons. She had passed this place up when she came here and shifted, not many people seemed to come here but one area stuck out, the grass in one area. She took a few steps forward, two spots had been there. She sniffed, a vampire... and.. human. She paused and turned away from it.
She closed her eyes, and in her head.. she imagined that the area would look almost like her home land. She felt her heart ache, and wither as if a flower without sun. She heard a soft whimper.. had it been from her. She looked around, her ears pricked up.. alas.. it had been from her. She laid down, suddenly, in one big huff.
If she had been just human... it would have been different. She closed her eyes slowly. Perhaps she would sleep here tonight.. the night was dark she knew this much, but the small silver sliver of the moon shone in the sky. Her ears twitched as she heard a noise forward of her. She opened her silver eyes, and a deer stood there, as if it had been caught in the head lights it stared.
She looked away, and her ears perked up to her head, and after a while.. she heard the soft grazing of the doe. Had the doe known.. that she would not kill. Yet she heard it deep within her mind. Take it. You have to. Her fur perched up, but she ignored it. Ignored her calling.

Jeremiah’s heart raced in his chest as he sprinted down the road, gaining fast on the criminal at hand. The man had just stolen over a thousand dollars worth of merchandise from a jewelry store, and he was on the run. And of course, Jeremiah was the closest and always looked at as the fastest. Though for obvious reasons to the paranormal world, his coworkers just assumed he worked out way more than any man should. How they came to that assumption, Jeremiah would never know. He was either always at work, or asleep. It seemed like that was all he did. To be this fast at running as a human was nearly impossible and would require countless hours in a gym. Though, Jeremiah prided himself on how in shape and fit he was, but he knew it was only because of his wolf. He was like any other typical American police officer. He enjoyed coffee and doughnuts…they were his weakness and he couldn’t help but laugh as he was labeled the stereotypical cop.
Gaining on the man, he finally flung himself onto the man, pinning him to the asphalt. Grabbing his cuffs from his belt, he cuffed the man’s hands behind his back…taking hold of the jewels that the man had stolen. Reading him his rights, he sighed and moved him against one of the alleyway walls. His coarse hand moved to his radio and he sent it in. Within minute he heard sirens coming his way. His boss, the chief of police, stepped out of the flashing cop car and congratulated Jeremiah on his success. With a stern look, Jeremiah nodded in thanks. The chief then told him to take the rest of the night off and so he did.
But instead of going home, Jeremiah instinctively made his way towards the forest. He could still feel a bit of adrenaline pulsing through his veins and he knew his wolf would more than appreciate the sprint. As he sped by several trees, he could feel his wolf clawing to get out and he suppressed until he was out of public sight. Then, from within, his grey and black wolf burst forth…a howl escaping him as his bones broke and his fur took the place of his flesh.
Standing for a moment, he could feel his heart still racing. His tail wagged happily as he began to rush through the forest, running just as fast as he could to no where in particular. Jeremiah was a strong Alpha both in his human form and wolf, and he had nothing worry about. He had also mastered his shifts and could change on command. But, even then he could not suppress the moon’s pull to his inner beast. Luckily, tonight was not one of those nights. Tonight, he changed on his own free will.
Pausing for a moment, he inhaled the cool Washington air deeply…but then caught another scent. Or two rather. One was that of a deer, and another was familiar…yet completely strange at the same time. Racing forward, he peered between the trees, trying to see clearly in the moon’s silver rays. That’s when he saw them: a large wolf and a young doe in a small clearing on the edge of the forest. It confused Jeremiah why the wolf wouldn’t be attacking and hunting, but he was in no place to judge. Slowly making his way to the edge of the forest, he made himself known…trying his hardest not to seem hostile, but at the same time keeping a somewhat defensive stance as he was unsure how the wolf would react. Standing in the clearing, he was covered in moonlight making him appear silver. His head bowed lightly in respects to the other wolf, but other than that he remained motionless and silent.

A howl shot through the night, and that caused her eyes to snap open, her ears would not be deceived, would she be mad? No she wasn’t, her ears perked up and she stood up slowly. She didn’t want to start fights, and her nose twitched, as she sniffed the air, her ears twitched back, and she turned behind her.
Turning her back she saw the bushes tussle again, she took a few steps forward, her chest pushed out, and her fur pressed up, being a small wolf.. she did the peacock affect to make herself look vicious to other wolves, yet when the wolf came out she was still a good inch shorter then the wolf. She saw him walk in, his head bowed low, and the wolf walked in slowly, she did not budge from her spot, and stared at him with cold; but curious eyes.
The first wolf she had seen since three years. The wolf had been white, maybe even gray.. it didn’t matter the small slivered of moonlight made him appear silver, her tail twitched, as she heard the doe run off. The wolf seemed wary, but non the less, it wanted peace. She blinked, before walking towards him, and grabbing the dress that had been set on the ground. She then quickly took a few steps back before setting it behind herself.
She would be an idiot to shift human around him; besides she didn’t know if he was truly kind, she could shift human and he could attack her. Her nose twitched, and his scent filled her nose, and now when she was in wolf form she knew his scent, who was she kidding he would know hers also, them being so close(even though they were a good ten feet away but lets be serious, a wolf’s nose would be stronger then a humans) he probably could track her down with ease whenever he wanted too.
The scent of the first snow, morning dew, roses.. and blood
She took a step towards him, a wary one. She would have been the next alpha in her pack, when he father passed it down. In fact now that she thought about, she would have had a mate already, more then likely to keep peace with in her pack. She tilted her head to him, before looking too him.

As the other wolf took a step towards him, he could sense a powerful energy rolling off of her. She was definitely an Alpha, which meant she was probably quite strong. Tonight would not be the ideal night for him to get into a fight, especially with his muscles still aching from the previous night’s encounter with a vampire. Even though he was a fast healer, something about that newborn threw his body and muscles out of sync. He wasn’t worried though, if push came to shove, the adrenaline from a fight would give him enough strength to push through. Being a cop had taught him that much.
Ocean blue eyes, the same as his human form, peered at the article of clothing the wolf picked up and moved back. That was an obvious sign that she refused to shift in front of him. He couldn’t blame her. During a transformation is when a lycan is most vulnerable and having just met…it wouldn’t be the smartest idea. As he looked over her wolf, something seemed different about this one. There was something…off about her. He couldn’t quite pin it though. While she hadn’t attacked the nearby dear, he didn’t automatically assume that as she didn’t hunt…so for the moment, he was stumped.
The wolf took another step forward into the clearing. While his eyes were keen, all he could see was her silhouette covered in moonlight. He inhaled deeply, his lungs taking in her scent and trying his hardest to match her scent to her wolf. As an Ulfric, it was the first thing you did when encountering another wolf…take note of their scent and don’t forget. Even if they had no desire to be in the pack, it was always nice to know where they are. After all, it was still his job to make sure rogues behave on his territory, as well as others. The last thing he needed was conflict from other lycans.
He saw her chest puffed out in trying to intimidate him and it worked to an extent. It made him wonder if she was more of a hostile wolf rather than a gentle one. Even as the Ulfric, Jeremiah knew when to hold his ground. And that was precisely what he did. As she took a step towards him, he remained still. Not backing down, but not advancing. “I’m Jeremiah…” He finally spoke, knowing she could hear his thoughts. That was one thing he was thankful for as a lycan. Being in wolf form and not being able to communicate would certainly complicate things a bit. Standing still, he awaited her response...hoping she wouldn't randomly attack.

Sythe stared to him, as he introduced himself to her, her head tilted as she sat down. She didn’t think he would attack her. but she calmed down her fur showing her true height, which was actually pretty short for an alpha, but she still held that aura around her. He spoke english, unlike the only other person she met here. Truly she wanted to go up and sniff him, she had missed being near her kind. Perhaps it was just the wolf in her longing to be in a pack.
”I am Sythe, I will not cause any damage to your land, or cause no harm, i will not even take your game” she spoke softly. She stretched out, giving a more relaxed aura, but that was because she was two bounds away from him, and she only need one in a half to out run him. She paused, so she figured he was a scouter, but she closed her eyes his aura was one of an alpha. She stood up again as if nervous apparently, but she just stared to him. Maybe she thought that he would leave but then again she didn’t want him to leave,at least the deepest side of her in her mind, She looked to him. her eyes shimmered gray, as she was thinking to go human, but once she would know if she can trust him or not.
He seemed to be able to see his reflection through her silver eyes as she stared to him warily. Did she really want this, no she would have ran, but why didn’t she trust him. Why would she even ask that question. She would never be able to trust another wolf. She took a few steps towards him, and stopping so she was a step away from him. ”So.. just stay out of my way and I will you” he voice would have an exotic sound to it, she wasn’t from forks. He would know that.

Cool ocean eyes remained on the wolf before him as she sat and let her fur return back to normal. He knew it was a natural reaction when an intruder comes forth. There is always that slight uncertainty on whether it would end poorly or not. Jeremiah could hold his own, but he also knew this Alpha was quite strong as well. The energy that rolled off her body made his wolf nervous, but he didn’t show. All of her movements showed she was nervous or perhaps just a bit on edge of having met another like her. Jeremiah’s demeanor was completely calm as he listened to her words. Her voice was melodic and soft and held an accent which he couldn’t identify. It definitely wasn’t from Forks or Washington.
To be honest, he was a bit taken back by her words. Usually those words were spoken coldly and they held a bit of danger behind them. But, that wasn’t the case with her. Did she just like being alone? Jeremiah had to assume so as he sat, lowering his defensive aura. His ears perked as he heard her name and he made a mental match to her scent. In reality, he wasn’t sure what to say to the woman. Usually it was the hostile ones that he knew he had to work at getting close to…but this one simply just didn’t desire to be bothered.
Her demands were simple and she had recognized his. Could their meeting really be that brief? Jeremiah hoped not. He really wanted to get to know this wolf. Somehow…she seemed different. Something wasn’t like the others he had met. And as he gazed into her eyes, he somehow felt her emotions ran deep. Secrets were hidden by seclusion and Jeremiah longed to move closer to her. It was his caring spirit showing through...a desire to protect his own kind and show them love and kindness. If she was scared, he would help heal her. But, he feared to move against her commands. He didn’t want to cause a fight…but then again, maybe that was precisely what she needed to see he was sincere in wanting to be a friend to her.
Bolding up, he took a few steps forward….his tail wagging lightly. His ears were perked and his coat was shimmering in the silver moonlight. “Let me protect you.” They were risky words to say because he knew how people’s pride often overwhelmed what was truly there. It was his first of many attempts to show she could trust him, and put faith in him as a friend. If, after those attempts, she still refused him…he would walk away silently.

She snorted, and the wolf in front of him seemed taken back. Before darting at him, as if to kill, but stopping in front of him, picking up a piece of clothing, from her dress, it was an abrupt stop, that caused a wind to actually hit him, well it was more of a breeze to be exact. She stared to him with silver eyes, she paused as if she was going to say something, before making another sudden movement, standing on her hind paws as if going to strike him with her front paws, but her body shifted and her back turned to him.
She knew this was a bad idea, the idea repeated in her head. He wouldn’t understand until he saw.. and he wouldn’t be able to see with all her fur in the way. She let out an annoyed sigh. She hated those words, the words he said. She would forever know that. It was on her back, never to trust another wolf, never to trust again. She heard a growl, had it been her own. It had. She let out a sigh, her tail going limp along her ears.
She was proud enough to do this, and she knew that. She felt her fur melt off of her, as her human form slowly appeared through the fur, as if she was trapped within the fur, it was more of an ocean of brown, with white to beige waves within it. Her back was to him, but he could see she was already a fit woman, slim yet all the curves were where they belonged. She had been gripping the belt to her dress in her hands.
On her back, he could see it. Maybe it was a language he understood, maybe it wasn’t. But scars running from her lower back to her shoulders, the lumps on her back. They had been scars. ”This is what happened, last time i thought i was protected.” she spoke, as she grabbed the dress, and started to walk towards the darkness of the woods.
”The only protection i need, is my own.” she whispered. Her accent would be odd to him, she would find a log or something to sleep on for tonight, then tomorrow she would go job searching. But as much as she wanted to run back, the aura of another wolf made the own wolf inside her go insane with happiness. But of course, she thought first.. and it will show her right now, just how trust worthy this wolf was. Was he to attack her, she would immediatly shift and fight him back, but if he didn’t.... what then?
She wouldn’t know. .. She stopped, she wanted to turn back, and ask him how many there were here.. how many of their kind. She glanced back, her gray eyes staring to the clearing, she sighed, curiosity killed the cat they say, what did it do to the wolf? She felt herself slip into her clothing, quickly and she turned back to the wolf. Her hair had been straight, thankfully, despite the run up here, ”Wait, I have a question...” she asked quietly, hoping that he would be there.

Jeremiah’s stance had remained still as she darted towards him. He wouldn’t move unless she attacked him. That was always his rule. He never attacked first unless his life was in danger, and from the defense she was putting up to keep him away, he knew he wasn’t. As much as the woman might want to have attacked him, she her wolf longed for him. He could sense it which was why he had approached her. The energy that rolled off of her was one of a barricade. Her shield was up, masking any and all vulnerability that she might have. Jeremiah knew better. He had come across too many women like her. He didn’t know the cause of it; all he knew is that it was there. She was distant and her connection to her wolf was not as powerful as it should have been. She was strong, no doubt. But he could sense there was a part of her that hated who she was. Perhaps that’s why she had spoken of leaving his game alone. She didn’t hunt, which means something probably happened in consequence.
His breathing was steady and calm as she turned and changed back to her human form. Before him he saw a woman, whose curves were any man’s dreams. Her body was slender and her hair was long and dark. For a moment, Jeremiah was mesmerized by her beauty, but then his eyes saw her back. He saw the scars that plagued her skin and he understood. Anger seared through his veins as he thought of who would do such a thing. More than anything he wanted to go to the woman and comfort her, but his clothes had been torn to shreds when he changed. Usually lycans were okay with nudity, but he couldn’t help but think it wasn’t the appropriate time.
Soon enough she slipped into the dress, and began to walk off, but something stopped her. He wasn’t sure what for he hadn’t said a word, but she turned to him. His ocean eyes locked with hers and she moved back towards him, speaking of having a question. “What is it?” He asked, curious as to what she would ask. As she moved closer to him, he could see her face and it matched her body perfectly. She was all over beautiful, and her dark hair glimmered in the moonlight. Never letting his eyes leave hers, he awaited her question, stepping down on the topic of protection. If she didn’t want to be protected, it wasn’t his place. He had given his offer and it would remain open for as long as he was around. Whether or not she ever accepted it, was a choice only she could make.
