It was a dreary day, it was gray and damp, or in other words a normal day in Forks. The sound of rain fell lightly to the ground accompanied by the sound of little footsteps skipping through the forest. Little stray drops fell through the holes in the leaves above her head as she walked, the little girl was jumping from rock to rock as she looked around blankly at the trees. It was always so calming to be out in the forest, everyone warned her to stay away, that wild animals would attack her, she couldn't help but giggle, she'd played with a mountain lion the last time she was out here, apparently if you were nice enough to an animal they'd be nice to you too.
Ashley ran forward a bit till she got to a steam she'd seen a small distance away, looking down hoping to maybe see a fish or something, but all she saw was her reflection, a tiny figure with a head full of brownish blond hair, a smile slapped onto her face. Ashley giggled and stood up straight, looking around for something fun.
Suddenly her eyes fell onto a log that bridged between the two banks of the stream. Ashley ran to it and hopped on top, having to steady her balance as she landed before walking forward slowly, arms outstretched on either side to act as balancers. Ashley stopped in the middle of the tree and looked around, her eyes flashing to all corners around her, she shrugged and looked down to the water, sitting down with her legs hanging off the side of the log, her toes just touching the water, it was a good thing she decided to go barefooted today and her rolled up jeans just reached her knees so she could swing them back and forth at ease, not having them scratch against the log irritatingly. She looked up again, a slightly confused look on her face.
"Anyone there?" Ashly called out, still sitting but having her legs hang dead straight.

Grace skipped into Forks forest on a drizzly day. Not really knowing why, she just felt like coming in and besides...she was hungry. Her throat was tickling for blood and she didn't feel like cornering a human at that point in time. Giggling, she took of running and sniffing for a deer or bunny rabbit to suck dry. Whatever come up first was what she was going to go after and that seemed to be a deer. This one was alone which puzzled her. Usually, the stay in twos or threes or packs but this one...was a loner. The hybrid jumped up into the trees jumping swiftly and quietly to sneak up on it...When she was on a branch right above the female she dropped down and landed on her back. It tried taking off but Grace already had her teeth sunck into its neck. When she was done she stood and walked off.
A strange smell come to her nose....she became rather curious as to what this was. She had never smelt it before...Smelt like an animal but human...Odd. She took off skipping and following the scent. She reached a stream with a log across it and jumped across. It took her three good hops to make it to the other end! She giggled and continued following...A girl started coming into view and Grace hid behind a tree... She wanted to speak to her but was uncertain...She didn't know what she was and no one was around if something bad happened. "Anyone there?" She poked her head around then completely stepped around the tree coming in full view... Her soft red eyes blink at the girl before her... "Bonjour. I am Grace..." She said in her normal happy voice. The girl didn't look like a threat so the worrying she had was completely gone. "Who are you?!" Smiling softly she walked over and sat a few feet away from her.

Ashley snapped her view to a tiny shape the appeared on the other side of a tree, she immediately stood up and watched the girl curiously, slightly caution, but as soon as she heard the girl call out her face snapped to a smile, the small girl ran toward her, looking about the same age as she was, but she looked different somehow, Ashley just couldn't place it. She walked off the side of the log and sat right on the edge of it, looking at the girl as she sat not too far from her.
"Me? I'm Ashley," She said, smiling proudly, she liked her name, liked the sound of it and how it matched her perfectly. She looked to the girl again, noticing her eyes, two red dots on her face, she seemed to recall seeing someone with red eyes before but she couldn't quite place were or when.
Suddenly a smell became apparent to her, it was light, and masked by a human scent, but it was strange, sweet, too sweet, it nearly burnt her nose it was so bad, she could feel her throat going dry as she thought of it. She realized she'd been quiet for maybe a bit too long.
"So who are you, and what's with your eyes?" She asked, maybe a little too forwardly, sitting back a little as she realized she might have been offensive in how she put it. "I er, i mean they're red...why?" She asked, her eyes flashing away for a second as she realized she was staring.

Grace took her small hands through her thin blond hair then placed her arms on her lap neatly. She loved meeting new people and making friend and since this girl looked her age she might just have one! She had a best friend named Rynnie who was Jasper and Alice's daughter and now she might make another! This excited her. The only problem was....she wanted to know what she was..because she wasn't a human, vampire, or hybrid. "Me? I'm Ashley," Grace beamed when she gave her name in return...It was a pretty name. Not many Ashleys in France.
"So who are you, and what's with your eyes?" "I er, i mean they're red...why?" Grace giggled lightly with a quick bite of her lip. She wasn't sure if she should say anything at all because it might scare her off. Grace was proud of what she was though. She was different, unique, and rare...she loved it. The only thing she didn't like was that she couldn't sparkle like her mom. Her mom looked so pretty glittering and Grace didn't find it fair that she didn't. She was half vampire isn't that enough to be all sparkly? "Oh, I'm different than most people. My mommy was human and my dad wasn't." That's all she really knew to say! She didn't want to say the word vampire because she's seen movies where people are all terrified of them. Even though all the movies were false it still played into real life and how other think. "You smell weird. What are you?" She didn't know saying it that way would seem rude but Grace was still learning manners. She was homeless for four years after all..no one to teach her until recently.. She figured if Ashley would tell her then she would tell her what she is too!

The girls seemed and having her respond so happily was a good sign, she smiled happily as the girl explained, then paused for a minute.
"not human" Ashley's eyes widened as she thought of the possibility of the girl being the same as her, but Ashley didn;t have red eyes, or a super sweet smell, and the girl said that SHE smelled weird.
Ashley just giggled. "Well you smell weird too yknow!" She yelled back jokingly before jumping to her feat and dusting the dirt from her jeans.
"And me, well I'm special," She said with a tiny smirk, getting ready to show the girl what she was, but she paused, a thought had entered her mind, a memory, the last friend she showed it to ran off and never spoke to her again, calling her a freak and throwing rocks at her. Ashley checked the girl out, she seemed like she'd understand, and her dad wasn't a human so it wouldn't be THAT strange to her, right?
Ashley just smiled shyly while looking at the girl, now not sure if she should show her anymore. "Um, I'll show you what I am if you promise not to be scared or run...or hit me." Ashley asked, smiling widely afterwords, but she didn't even wait for a reply. She dashed to a spot where hopefully the girl wouldn't follow, remembering she needed clothes to get back home. She shut her eyes, taking long deep breaths, then slowly allowed it to take her over, feeling her bones move out of their normal places and feeling her fur poke through her skin one by one. It was painful, but it wasn't too bad for her, mother always told her it was because she was born with it that she didn't feel the full pain, but it still hurt a little as she changed, wincing before her form became a full feline.
She shook herself out and hopped into the open, her long tail swishing through the air as she landed not too far from her new friend, her whiskers twitching as she waited for a reaction. The girl now replaced with a rather small Snow-Leopard.

"Um, I'll show you what I am if you promise not to be scared or run...or hit me." Grace nodded eagerly in agreement but Ashley had already taken off into some trees. She sat there patiently, waiting for her new friend to return. At least, she hoped to be friends with this girl.
Not long after and small white leopard jumped over infront of her. Her eyes widened slightly with excitement. She could turn into an animal?! This was certainly unexpected and Grace loved surprises...And she was definitely surprised by a person who could turn into an animal. "Oh, that's cool!" She smiled widely at the leopard infront of her. Now she didn't feel so bad about explaining what she is... Only, Grace kills people and many don't like that. She decided not to say anything about eating human...just explain what she is. It would be fair after all.
"So, I'm half human and half vampire." She nodded. "Have you ever met a vampire before?...Oh wait..You probably can't talk can you?" She giggled at the thought of an animal talking, but with everything she has seen in her life it wouldn't be that much of a surprise.
Gracie scooted closer to Ashley and petted her head lightly. "Pretty. Wish I could do that! The only things I can do is run really really fast and I have half vampires strength."
