Charles nodded and waited for her do disappear before changing his clothes as asked. He was quickly changed and sat on the bed waiting for Kat to come out. For the moment he wondered about his past. It was obvious he lost his memory, and aside from a brief flash from his past here and there he couldn't remember anything. Maybe it was a good thing. Whoever he used to be was stupid enough to get himself chained in that basement.
He then thought about this Liv Kat had spoken about. he wondered what kind of a person she was, if she was friends with Kat then she must be an angel also. It didn't matter though, his master was Kat, she had saved him from the pit of blackness and was now taking care of him. He would always be in her debt.
As she emerged from her dressing room Charles was taken aback. A memory from his past bubbled up for a moment and Charles fought the urge to look away and argue that her clothes were too revealing. So instead he simply looked at the floor. He would protect her with his life, he knew that. But for some reason his hand kept going down to his waist to grab a weapon that wasn't there.Interesting.

Olivia was on the job. Again. It had seemed that for the last few weeks Olivia had went from a Volturi Guard to a Hit Man. She didn't complain though. It kept her on her toes, not to mention it made Aro very happy. And a happy vampire leader meant a happy Volturi member. She picked up the man's body with ease and held it over her head. With all her strength she tossed him into the air and watched as his body made a loud splash into the water. She made sure his body would sink to the bottom with not one, but two cement blocks tied to his ankles. She didn't want to take any chances. She turned her heel to walk back to the castle, she left her car there thinking the weather was too nice to enjoy while boxed up in a vehicle. But she came to a halt when she felt a vibrate in between her breasts. Yes she kept her phone there but only because she didn't have pockets. Liv opened her phone and looked to see it was Kat. Kat seemed to be the only Volturi that actually liked Liv. They were like blood sisters, they shared the same tastes even sometimes shared the same meal. Her love for pain and torture was just as great as Liv's. And she loved that about her fiery friend.
The text told her to meet her at the Venetian river and that she had a surprise for her. She was curious to know what it was, Liv loved surprises. But only if they benefited her somehow. But at this time she thought that wouldn't be the safest place to meet so instead she texted her back and told her to meet her at a church right by the river. They would be in a secluded area, the church would be empty by now at the time of night. Funny seeing a woman who was well over a hundred years old know how to work a phone. To be honest she didn't know how to until Vlad taught her. She was even surprised Aro knew how to.
It didn't take her long to find the church. She opened the large doors and closed them behind her. Liv walked down the center in a slow and steady pace, her heels echoing through out the high ceiling cathedral. It was beautiful the way the moon shone through the large stained glass windows on each side of her. She could feel a surge of pure energy course through her as the silver rays hit her cold skin. The large grey orb in the sky always had a everlasting effect on the red haired vampire, making the animal inside her want to come out. But she had self control and instead made her way towards the podium at the end of the church. The only light in the place was the natural glow from outside and a few candles lit behind the podium where people would say their prayers. Liv wasn't much into church, or atleast after she became a vampire. But for old times sake she found herself lighting her own candle, her ruby eyes fixated on the flickering flame as she waited for her friend to arrive.

Kat nodded as she got the text and grabbed her keys to her car. "Stay close, don't look at anyone, and keep your head low. We are taking my car to Venice." She spoke as she grabbed her I-pod off the docking station and headed for the door. She went straight for her car and slid gracefully into the driver's seat and started the engine. The purr made her smile and she sighed as she closed her eyes. The car was her baby. She couldn't have children herself so this car took the place of a child.
Katsumi waited for Surebu to get in the car before she sped out of the garage. With her I-pod playing over the stereo system she took off towards Venice. The normal four hour trip only took them 2 and a half hours and she hoped Liv wouldn't be to upset with her for taking so long. As she pulled into the city, Kat turned the music down. "Look, this is a good friend of mine. Do as your told and you may get her approval. She and I are like sisters, and trust me, you want to be on her good side. It will only help you in life." She smiled as she parked outside of the church. "Stay just inside the door until I tell you to follow." She instructed as she looked at the building.
As the engine died, Kat stepped out of the car and faced the church. Her long brown hair floated about as the wind kicked up. She walked casually across the street and entered the building. She spotted Liv at the altar and smiled as she walked towards her. "Liv. I wish we could spend more time together. I miss you dreadfully." She spoke before embracing the woman on the arms and kissing each cheek in succession. "I have something to show you. But be nice. It is new, and I have an attachment to it." She smiled before motioning to Surebu to come. She hoped Liv liked him. Because Kat wanted to keep this one. Charles stood outside for a moment waiting for his master to call him in. Looking around he found himself admiring the city, the water canals and impressive architecture leaving him amazed. He wished he could stay here, maybe make a living in a shop. The thought disappeared instantly when realized that would take him away from his master.
Looking back at the door he saw Kat signal for him to enter, almost without realizing he was moving. Stepping into the building he realized that is was a church. A place of worship... Walking between the pews he turned and walked towards the altar and without noticing he made the sign of the cross. When he saw what he had just done he almost stopped. Why had he just done that? It was odd, he knew nothing about this building or what the humans worshiped yet he had done that out of pure instinct. Had he perhaps been a holy man in his previous life? The thought made him wonder.
At the altar stood Katsumi and another woman. She was beautiful in her own way but Charles only cared about one person now, and that was his master. Instead he found himself sizing her up as a potential threat before he forced himself to stop. This was his masters friend, almost a sister to her, there was no need to think of her as a threat. As he reached the edge of the steps leading to the pillar he stopped, looking down at the ground waiting.

The church was quiet until she heard the creaking sound from the doors opening. A small smile formed on her pale face as she bowed her head down for a moment. Her friend was late but Liv would not complain. All she had was time. "Liv. I wish we could spend more time together. I miss you dreadfully." With the sound of her voice she opened her eyes and turned around to face her friend. Placing her hands gracefully on her friends back she returned the warm Italian greeting. "Well that's what happens when you decide to adopt and fall in love." she said with a smile. She loved her Vlad and Grace with every fiber of her being. But working with the Volturi while trying to hold together a dysfunctional family took Olivia's time away from herself. And from her friends. "I have something to show you. But be nice. It is new, and I have an attachment to it."
Olivia raised her eyebrow to her friend. Her curiosity was quickly replaced with discontent. Her demonic eyes moved over behind Kat and to the stranger. He was an older gentleman, but not by much. She could smell him from all the way down the isle, it was hard not to when his human blood still coursed through her dying veins. He was a newborn. Something Olivia was all too familiar with but that didn't mean she liked it. There was something about him that didn't set too well with her. His walk, his posture, the look in his firey red eyes felt...off to her. As if she was looking at two completely different people. Her instincts were trying to tell her something, but she wouldn't listen until she heard more about him. She was intrigued with her friends new pet, but was also highly cautious.
Her smile faded and her face grew more stern. Stepping past Kat she stopped in front of the newborn and sniffed the air three times before speaking. "His blood. He's fresh. Only a few days old." she said in almost a whisper. The main reason she joined the Volturi was because of her knowledge and experience with newborns so it only came natural to her when she also asked her first set of questions. "Who is he and where did you find him." she asked, her face softening slightly as a playful grin slided across her face, her eyes never leaving his face.

Kat had been happy for Liv when she came in possession of Grace. The little girl was adorable, and Kat treated her like a daughter herself. Kat spoiled Gracie that was for sure. And Katsumi was also happy for Liv for finding a lover. Kat herself bounced from one guy to the next so much she didn't even know half their names. Why bother? Half of them ended up a meal any how. Kat was too into the physical fun that the romanticism.
Knowing Liv, Kat knew the woman would be skeptical of her new pet. "He spent the last eight days in the dungeons in Voltera. I pulled him out just hours ago fed him and brought him to see you. I call him Surebu. He has no memory so I had to name him something." She wouldn't tell Liv everything, not with him in front of her. SHe had to keep most of the memories of this pet secret. If he found out that she put him in the dungeon, this game would be over and she would have to kill him. SHe didn't want to lose her pet just yet.
Kat moved to stand next to Olivia and wrapped her arm around the red head's waist. "I know you dislike newborns, but I want this one. And well, he owes me a debt. And I thought you would at least like to know about my new friend." SHe spoke the word friend as if it was meant to be something else. Kat and Liv knew each other well, and here they were, two gorgeous women standing there looking at Kat's new toy. The newborn was nothing more than that, a pet. Something Kat could use to do her bidding and to entertain her when bored.

Had it really been eight days? Eight days of agony and suffering? He now felt even more indebted to Kat. As she spoke to the other woman he continued to look at the ground. Within him he could feel a deep hunger for more blood but somehow he was able to suppress it, barely however.
"I call him Surebu. He has no memory so I had to name him something" Again that name. While he wanted to accept it as his own something within him rebelled at the thought. Again a thought bubbled up...
Charles, son nom est Charles he didn't know who said it but he understood the language. It was a woman, maybe his mother? Surebu would be his title but he would always know himself as Charles. There was something about this place that was causing more of those memories to flash within his mind. However again almost nothing was substantial.
The other woman was still standing in front of him, while he dared not look up he could sense that she was on edge. He wondered why... Was it that he was a newborn? Or was it something else that made her cautious. He would have to be careful himself around her. She may be his masters friend but something about her the worried him. Then again maybe he was paranoid and being overprotective. he only hoped that was the case.

"He spent the last eight days in the dungeons in Voltera. I pulled him out just hours ago fed him and brought him to see you. I call him Surebu. He has no memory so I had to name him something."
[/i] Her voice rang in her ears and her words bounced around in her head. Her eyes were permanently glued to the newborn in front of her. Many questions ran through her head one after another and she planned to have all of them answered eventually. She knew that even though it seemed to Kat that she had found a new pet, but from Olivia's experience memory's eventually find their way back. It would be only a matter of time until the so called 'Surebu' remembered his own name. Or worse, who he was before he became what he is and forever will be. He could of been just a regular joe that had the misfortune to come across one of the many vampires that roamed the streets of Italy. But something told her that was not all true. And Liv was one to listen to her instincts for so far they have never proved her wrong. "I know you dislike newborns, but I want this one. And well, he owes me a debt. And I thought you would at least like to know about my new friend."[/i] She felt her friends arm wrap around her waist but still did not break her eyes away from him. The whole time he had yet to look up at them, even though they were clearly talking about him right in front of him. Liv wondered if he didn't already know something the two vampires didn't. That would be one reason why he refused to look her in the eyes. Maybe he knew that the eyes were the gateway to a person's soul, whether it be cold and black she could always read a person just by their eyes. But for his sake, and Kat's she hoped it was just because he was shy around two lovely ladies. Taking a step down from one of the steps, now just a step away from him her eyes grew narrow as she focused all her attention on him at the moment. With one hand around her back she raised the other and lifted his chin to look at her with the tip of her finger. His eyes were like fire, brighter than the two of them. It had been years since she had been this close to a newborn and it started to bring back some of her most painful memories. Now was not the time though, to dwell on the past. Her eyes were hard on him as she studied his face, logging it into her filing cabinet in her head. She took a moment to process everything before she opened her blood red lips to speak. "What do you remember of your life before this? Leave nothing out and be sure to speak the truth. And I'll know if you're lying to me." She said harshly as she kept his eyes on her's, using only a little bit of her power of control to keep his eyes where she wanted.[/blockquote][/blockquote]

Kat smiled softly, her lips making it more of a smirk than anything. "Liv, we have to get together for some alone time later. We have catching up to do." It would be then that she would tell Liv the exact origins of her new pet. Why she turned him. Liv had to know the dirty details. SHe wouldn't lie to her friend, her pet maybe, but not her friend. Liv would understand. But she also knew her friend would warn her of the dangers of all of this. Kat knew she was dancing with fire on this one. One mess up and she would be in a lot of trouble. Aro had made it clear that she would take any punishment for anything her pet did. And Kat wasn't one to take punishments.
Kat watched Liv approach Surebu and force him to look at her. That little touch of her skin to his chin was all it took. SHe could make him do anything she wished now. As long as she touched him while she ordered, he was at her whim. Kat hadn't been under that power but she had gotten the pleasure of seeing it used. SHe listened to Liv's orders and smiled softly. That was something she would need to know. And then the thought hit her. Live could force him to forget everything. He would never remember a thing if she demanded it. She could also force him to never disobey her as well. That would come in handy. Oh, how she wished her friend could read her mind. Then she would know the very things she hoped Liv would do.

Charles let out an involuntary grunt as the woman touched him, she was dangerous, very very dangerous. However he had no reason to lie and if they doubted him his next words could possibly appease them. Besides at the moment he felt that no matter how hard he tried he would answer truthfully. Something simply compelled him to do so. Was this woman doing something to him?
"I remember nothing. I only see flashes of my former life, and even then they are too brief to decipher. All know for certain is either me or someone close to me was named Charles. If that was my own I know it no longer is mine. I am forever more Surebu, and Lady Katsumi is my master."
Try as he could he couldn't break his eyes away from Olivia. She was certainly controlling him, not that he minded, he was a possible threat to them and they needed to ascertain he couldn't hurt them.
--------------
He cried, he raged... But most of all he wanted to tear them both apart. In the back of his mind the true Charles Veilleux watched like an animal within a forest watched those who would enter. Those outside knew he was there, always lurking within ready to emerge. But for now he would wait. While he despised what that bitch had done to him he knew to act rashly now would be a serious mistake.
He would allow Surebu to remain in charge, he was the slave, unassuming and totally obedient. But when the time came he would resume control of his body and escape. He watched as Olivia interrogated Surebu and would have smiled if he could. She could try her mind control on him, bye he knew that any order that was placed upon Surebu would not apply to him. Yes, he would wait and endure... Who knows, maybe he'd learn something about these abominations whose ranks he has joined.

[/i] Olivia knew he was not lying to her, how could he with her skin touching his. That still didn't mean she was completely satisfied. No. You can't just assume you can trust a newborn, especially one with no memory within a short period of time. No this would take the first year of his new existence, maybe more. If he lasted that long of course. "Liv, we have to get together for some alone time later. We have catching up to do." Olivia broke her eye contact with the newborn and over towards her friend. "That might happen sooner than later, darlin. There is much to discuss." As she said the last sentence her eyes wandered back towards Charles. Now with her first question answered she moved on to the next one. ”Is he of any value to us? Any...potential worth seeing?” she said with a slight rise in her voice. If he was to be trained by the hands of the Volturi, Olivia being the person normally responsible for training but in this case she hoped Kat would be given that task, then they would have to have a good reason to consider him. They didn't just take in anybody and were quite picky when it came to who they took into their coven. And Olivia was one of the few that didn't take kindly to strangers...especially newborns. She wondered what power he did possess, if one at all and greatly hoped that Kat did not waste her time on a worthless human to change. But she waited patiently for him to show her something, anything that might make her suspicions of him wrong. Even though she high doubted it. [/blockquote][/blockquote]

Kat nodded. So he hadn't remembered much. That could only help him.Olivia had always been hard on newborns. SHe didn't like them much, and with good reason. They were the children of the vampire world. They had to be taught everything. The rules, how to hunt, how to hide the bodies, and the normal stuff. Kat didn't really have the patience for it. She would dispose of him the minute he became a liability. So she kind of hoped her friend would aid her in this endeavor. "I can always have him to go back to the castle and wait in my room and we can catch up." Kat offered. SHe wouldn't give him her car, because she was not about to relinquish her keys to anyone. Liv was the only other person that had ever been allowed to drive her car. No, Surebu would run home, he was fast enough, he could make it just fine.
When Liv asked her next question Kat suddenly remembered why she had originally had her friend meet her. "That is why we are here darling. While I was changing he moved a watch and a ring with his mind. But apparently it only works with metal." SHe explained moving to stand next to Olivia. She looked from her friend to her pet. "Go on, show her." SHe instructed him.

"Of course my lady" Surebu replied.
Again he reached out with his mind, again it was easier for him to do. He emptied himself of all emotion, and looking across the room saw the candles that parishioners had left and decided to see just how much control he had. With a sigh he created a magnetic field on the ground, then one by one created small fields around steel cases the candles were placed within. He watched silently as the candles lifted off the ground levitating through the air before he sent them towards the two vampires. A second later they had formed a ring of candles around them, each one still lit.
"Is this sufficient master?" he asked.
----------------
Charles watched amazed as Surebu manipulated the magnetic fields around each candle and sent them floating around the vampires. The ring of fire had been his own personal touch, something simply for show. It had been easy to make Surebu do so by simple applying a bit of influence to his mind.
This power to manipulate magnetic fields astounded Charles. Its possibilities were almost endless. Every creature, every object, had one of these fields... Surebu only thought it applied to metal because it was the easiest to manipulate. Charles was already contemplating ways to use its power, the most obvious was its application as a ranged weapon. Provided he could make some stronger fields he could accelerate any object to speeds that would make bullets seem like snails. This would be very interesting...

"I can always have him to go back to the castle and wait in my room and we can catch up."
[/i] Olivia shook her head. That wasn't the best thing to let a newborn do. Especially in Italy. The people here were aware of the creatures that occupied these streets, as many as there are humans. So leaving a newborn in the proximity of human blood without anyone with him, would not be a wise decision on their part. "No. He stays here. Don't need another mob chasing after us now do we?" she said, her eyebrow slightly raising towards the end. Her friend once again stood next to the red haired vampire but Liv's eyes never broke free from him. "Go on, show her." "Of course my lady"She watched curiously as the candles behind them slowly levitated in the air and danced towards the two women, finally forming a ring of fire around them. Olivia's eyes slightly widened, she had never met a vampire with this ability and was impressed. But she didn't like the candles around her. Fire was not something she played with, atleast not out of her control. She had been burnt once in her past and this only reminded her of it. But Olivia didn't panic, even though she was starting to feel uneasy more than ever. She didn't like this man, never did from the moment she laid eyes on him. His abilities seemed useful but the voice inside her head told her he himself would be of no use. He was too much of a liability...a risk. And now he was disrespecting her, or atleast that's how she felt. To her it seemed the candles were intentional, only proving her suspicions more. "Is this sufficient master?" Olivia's anger started to boil inside her. She didn't know what this man had in mind, but whatever it was she was sure not to like the outcome. "What kind of game are you playing? You think this is funny?" she growled as her eyes wandered from him to the candles, then back to him. He may not know it but it didn't take much to set this little fireball off and at the moment she was growing fierce with anger.[/blockquote][/blockquote]

Kat nodded. She knew where Liv was coming from. "No, we don't want that. I agree he should stay here while we talk. I would like to have some time with you alone before we are separated again." Katsumi hated it when she was forced to be separated from Liv. They worked better as a team, like Alec and Jane. But the Volturi leaders seemed to think they should be separated often. It was a little annoying. But she never opposed them. SHe wouldn't speak out against it. No she wasn't going to cause more trouble than she needed. That was the last thing she could handle at the moment. Aro was already watching her carefully with this newborn in her possession. She had assured him that the newborn would die the moment he had become more trouble than worth. That had appeased him for the time being. But it didn't change the fact that she was being watched.
There was no way for Kat to know Surebu would move the candles. Kat knew about the fire thing with Liv and as Liv's anger spiked, Kat grabbed the male's arm firmly. "Put them back, now." sHe spoke in a low tone almost growling but with firm words so it was more like an order than a threat. She knew if Kat got pissed enough this little pet would never walk out of this church. She had to try to keep that from happening. "Liv dear, calm down, he didn't know." SHe spoke trying to be the voice of reason like many times Olivia had gotten hot headed. SHe spoke softly and more affectionately towards Liv. On base instinct she positioned her body partially between Liv and the newborn and gently touched her own cold skin of her hand to Liv's arm. It was meant in affection like someone as close as they were would do. She was trying to calm the red headed vampire. She was unsure how well it would work but she had to at least try.
