Not to her surprise, the man awoke with a start and for a moment she thought he might attack. His quickness to rise slightly worried her and made her curious why this man was so on edge. Sure, he was in an unfamiliar place, but it didn’t seem like that was all he was wary about. Something else was bothering the man, but just as she had her secrets, she was sure he had his. Maybe one day they would be released into the open, but tonight didn’t seem like the opportune time. I think tonight would more be a night of getting to know each other. But, who knows? Maybe they’d grow closer than she thought.
When he stood only wrapped in a towel, she couldn’t help but let her eyes linger on his body. Even with his scars, he was still incredibly handsome and she could feel her heart slowly beginning to quicken. Especially as he closed the space between them to get the clothes she had brought. Her breathing was a bit rigid, and she bit lightly at her lower lip…quickly looking away as she realized her eyes wandering was not as subtle as she’d hoped. Crimson fell on her cheeks and she found it hard to meet the man’s gaze. He spoke and she smiled lightly. “They are rather comfortable.” She added, referring to the beds. “Like sleeping on a cloud.” The smile remained, but she still felt herself slightly embarrassed that she had let her eyes linger that long. He would have been sure to notice.
His voice trailed to her ears once more and she blushed a bit more as he mentioned being naked. A brief thought passed her mind, but she quickly dismissed it…realizing she knew nothing of the man. To sleep with him would be out of the question, but how strangely she longed for his touch. Perhaps it was because he was standing almost naked in front of her. She didn’t know, but something had sparked a small sensual desire. She smiled up at him as he talked about wanting her to be comfortable. “Alright, well if you need anything, I’m across the hall, two doors down.” She spoke, her voice soft and warm. She hoped the man would soon relax…she hated the tense energy she felt rolling off of him.
Nodding her head lightly, she handed him the clothes and then walked out. She closed the door softly behind her, and leaned her back against the wall for a moment. Her desires were not allowed to take over…she wouldn’t let them. Exhaling heavily, she made her way towards her quarters and opened the doors. Everything was just as she’d left it, save her clothes and linens had been washed. Her eyes peered out of the large window that had a small balcony looking out over the forest that surrounded the estate. Mikel had given her this room for a reason…the view. Somehow he knew it calmed her.
Slipping out of her dress, she remove her other articles of clothing before moving to the bathroom. Turning the water on, it was then that she realized just how sore her muscles were. The adrenaline was beginning to finally wear off and she felt it everywhere. Stepping into the shower, she let the near scolding water run down her body. She arched her neck, letting a soft sigh of content escape her lips. The water felt amazing and it was slowly healing the aches she felt. The water slid down her skin as she washed her hair and body and then finally felt at peace once more.
Sliding the door back, she took a towel and wrapped it around herself. Her hair was soaking wet on her shoulders, but she didn’t mind. That showered helped to wash away all the stress that had built up for the past few days. Clicking on the blow dryer, she dried her hair, neatly styling it to fall perfectly in place on her shoulders. She then moved out into her bedroom…the cool from the conflicting temperatures sending a shiver down her spine. Looking through her closet, she found the perfect sweater dress. It was both classy, casual, and warm. Just what she needed for a night like tonight. And it rode a little high on her thighs, giving it a slight sexy edge. Pulling it on, she moved and slid on a nice bracelet that matched before taking one last glance in the mirror. Well, she certainly looked better than when they had arrived. And she was warmer as well.
Closing the door, she cut the light off and walked back towards David’s quarters. She knocked twice on the door and waited. She had learned her lesson about barging in the first time. “Are you hungry at all? I could make us some dinner.” She spoke as she waited, leaning her body lightly against the frame of the door.

The clothes fit, well sort of. David had predicted that they would be baggy and they were. The shirt’s sleeves were too long and that was because the shoulders were hanging half way down David’s biceps. David wondered who these clothes belonging to but he thought it would be better not to ask. The pants fir better and David just tightened the belt a bit so that he wouldn’t have a problem with them staying on. David looked around the room for a minute, wandering from place to place, looking at the furniture, the couple paintings that were in his room. They all seemed to be by various famous artists but David didn’t know anything about art so he couldn’t really understand any of them; especially those by Van Gough. David just needed to wait for Kristina to get out of the shower. He couldn’t hear water running or anything because she was too far down the hall so there was really no telling when she would get back. David didn’t think he had time to go look around the entire mansion in the time it took her to take a shower. Besides that he was pretty sure that there was at least a few cameras in a place as nice as this. David walked over to one painting in particular and looked at it for a minute, just trying to pass the time away while he waited. Thankfully it wasn’t too long before he heard a couple of knocks at her door and Kristina’s voice follow.
David went over to the door and opened it for her and saw Kristina leaning against the doorframe. “No thanks, I’m not really hungry at the moment. I think with everything that has happened tonight I have lost my appetite. Although I am sure you know to please…how to cook I mean.” David corrected. She did look nice after she had freshened up and taken a shower and all but David had guessed she would look better than when she was wet and soggy so that didn’t surprise him all that much. He looked up and down the hall for a minute and then back at Kristina. “Do you really have this whole place to yourself?” He asked as he stepped out into the hall, brushing past Kristina. “I would think a place like this would be a little big for just you.” David said and turned to Kristina. “Something tells me its just for you. I mean, I have seen hotels that were smaller than this.” David stated. He began to walk down the hall a little bit, looking about. He remembered where Kristina had told him her room was.
She wasn’t all that far away from him; well their rooms weren’t at least. “I hope its alright if I look around. I haven’t been in a place like this before so I am sure you understand when I say I am curious.” David stated as he looked back at Kristina. He walked to where Kristina had told him her room was and he opened the door a crack. “This is yours?” He asked. David was more in search mode than anything. He was casual and somewhat subtle but he was looking for anything that would be out of the ordinary, anything that would give him cause for alarm. He looked around the room for a minute, just standing in the doorway, not really wanting to offend her or intrude on her private space by actually walking into the room so he just stood in the entrance. “Well very nice, all these rooms are. I don’t think I’ll ever be this wealthy.” He paused and just stood in the doorway for a minute. He needed to think. He heard the music floating in the air. David still felt a bit awkward and out of place here but he didn’t want her to think that he did. He needed to have something put him at ease and as if the music was reading his brain a rather Hispanic sounding song came over the intercom. David was a sucker for that kind of music. He smiled and looked over at Kristina for a minute before sauntering over to her and taking her right hand in his own and placing her left hand on his right shoulder, his hand on her waist. “Hope you don’t mind but…I guess it’s a cultural thing.” He said, finally smiling.

As Kristina’s let her weight rest against the frame, her eyes glanced around her for a moment. She had forgotten the beauty that was instilled in Mikel’s estate and she smiled to herself. As much as she hated Seattle…she loved her home. When he answered her question, once more the blush returned to her cheeks and she laughed softly. “Well let me know if you change your mind.” She spoke, referring to dinner. If all else failed, she would make him breakfast in the morning. He brushed against her as he stepped into the hall and she could feel the growing warmth of his skin. It was a nice change from the cold they had both endured.
Letting her dark eyes follow the man, she watched as he began to search the place. But, Kristina noticed it wasn’t just a casual glance around. It was definitely more. It was almost as if he wanted and expected something to go wrong. So far as she knew of, any evidence of her being was locked away inside her. Very rarely did she slip up in covering her fox. And Mikel had this place locked up and secure when it came to his spies and agents. The only thing slightly out of place that he would find was himself. And Kristina hoped that wouldn’t scare him too much. Even in the couple hours of knowing him, she had already grown fond of the man’s company. He kept her on edge, and that fact that he wasn’t the most elegant when it came to hitting on only sparked her interest more. Usually the typical pick up line had a charm that indicated how beautiful she was…making any woman’s heart melt. David was different though. And somehow, she was drawn to it.
She bit at her lower lip as he opened the room to her quarters. It was even more luxurious than the one he was staying in, but the same concept of art and amenities was still the same. It also had the balcony, which in Kristina’s opinion, was the best part. There was nothing more relaxing than leaned against the rail on a summer’s night…the warm wind teasing at the slit in her silk robe. The mansion was secluded enough to where she didn’t have to worry about anyone seeing her. It always brought Kristina peace in time where hope seemed distant.
When he asked if this house was her own, she hesitated for a moment. Now would be the opportune time to tell him about Mikel…but she didn’t want to scare him. “Usually it’s pretty vacant. I’m only here every couple of months.” Was that enough to satisfy him? She had used the word pretty vacant which wasn’t particularly a lie. She wanted to tell him of Mikel, but she didn’t want to ruin the night. This was the first chance at a genuine relationship she’d had in over ten years.
It was then that he moved back to her, a smile clear on his face. She had heard the change of song as well, but had thought nothing of it until he pulled her out into the hallway. It was then that she could feel her heart beginning to race once more. Her skin was warm and she felt her desires begin to searing through her veins. But her hands stayed when he had placed them and as if to fulfill the sensual Spanish mood, she closed the space between them a bit. “Not at all…” She whispered, a shy smile on her lips. It was then that she began to follow his lead in dancing, having been clearly taught how to dance properly. It was one of her favorite past times, and she loved every chance she had to relive those memories. As they moved across the floor, she couldn’t help but let her eyes keep hold of his for a moment…her heart pounding in her chest. Her defenses were down and she was sure he saw every desire she had flickering in her eyes.

David knew how to dance and he knew how to dance well. It was one of those hidden secrets that he never really told anyone but it was one of those things that were really evident when a certain kind of music came on. David didn’t have a problem on his feet and although he was very awkward most of the time but when he was dancing he could be very nimble with his feet and rather coordinated. It was sort of an oxymoron but it was what it was. David wasn’t one of those people that told people all those little things about himself but then again he also wasn’t asked about those sorts of things either so most of the time they remained a secret. David smiled as she looked at him and he could tell that she was going to be pretty light on her feet as well. She had more Latin American blood in him than he did probably and he had no doubt that I woman with such style and class would know how to dance. It didn’t take him all that long to figure out that she knew how because as soon as he started moving in circles he could feel her natural body rhythm. David had always had to work for his rhythm but it seemed like for Kristina that it wasn’t much a problem. David was a little bit envious of that. David wasn’t wearing any shoes but he didn’t need any either because it wasn’t like he was going to step on any toes. He knew how to take the lead role in a salsa, even if it was an improvised one.
David moved her back and forth with him, his hand held hers very firmly and his other hand held her waist. He knew that it was very important with any dance that the man lead and be a strong leader but it was also important that he gave the woman a certain amount of free reign and spontaneity. David moved his hand from her waist and spun her out away from him and he let go of her hand to let her do whatever it was that she was going to do. David moved back against the wall after a short spin. He moved his hands against the wall by his sides, her left leg forward. The music was getting a little bit spicier and David couldn’t help but watch Kristina as she danced. She was very good looking and her body had natural curves that helped her with her rhythm. This was a nice way to get his mind off things and he appreciated the fact that she was willing to dance with him. There wasn’t much of a better remedy for stress that he could think of and it was even better when he had a good partner.

Her hand felt firm with his as they began to dance. Contrary to what she had thought by initial appearance, he was quite skilled in dancing. Salsa was always one of her favorites…it was a dance of expression and could be interpreted many ways. That was perhaps why she loved it. There wasn’t a time she could remember than she hadn’t lost herself in dancing. Especially when she had a partner to dance with. And it was apparent that within moments of dancing with David, she had begun to do just that. The stress of the past couple months had built up and she found her body aching for a release.
Blooding running warm through her veins, she let the music take hold. She felt her roots demand priority as her hips began to move in quick yet sensual motions. While he was facing her, she let one of her hands slowly and intensely run down his chest. It surprised her how much she was getting into the dance…especially with a man she had just met mere hours ago. A part of her contributed it to the fact that he had Spanish blood in his veins as well. Somehow she felt a bit of stronger connection with him than her previous dance partners.
Their movements were quick and graceful across the carpet, neither of them wearing shoes. In reality she thought it was almost easier to dance with heels, but she could manage either way. His hold on her was firm and her breathing was growing a bit heavier as they continued to dance. He spun her out and she finally let her hands wander. They started above her head, then slowly ran through her hair as she looked to the side and finally fell down her chest and stomach, meeting her hips which moved back and forth with the rhythm perfectly. With sensual movements, her eyes met his as he leaned against the wall. Moving towards him, her eyes never left his. There was something about gazing into his eyes that sparked more of a desire to be near him. Closing the space, she spun around at the last minute, pressing her back against his chest…her hips still moving as her hands ran tauntingly down his arms. Her head turned to the side, completely entranced by the music and the man she was with.

David knew how to leave himself open for interpretation while dancing. David had his back against the wall is right foot was on the wall as well which caused his right knee to be jutted out just a bit from the wall but it was a proper enough pose and could allow Kristina easy enough range of motion and freedom to do what she needed. Kristina watched her as she moved. He couldn’t help but picture her in an actual salsa dress that David knew all too well. The dress she wore was tight clinging to her body but there was something about salsa dresses that could just spice things about a bit. It was probably the simplistic flare or the colors but David had always associated salsa with a certain type of dress. He had said a couple dumb things about women and to women when he saw them wearing a dress that reminded him of this sort of thing. David moved his body in rhythm as Kristina moved hers. David didn’t any part of his body not moving during a dance and with salsa it was especially important to make sure he kept the beat for his partner. Needless to say, it was easier to keep a bit with a partner and it wasn’t all too long before Kristina returned to him.
Her back was pressing against his chest and her hands were running down his arms as they were placed on the wall. She turned her head and without missing a bit David moved his head to the opposite side she was looking and breathed heavily onto her neck. He waited for her hands to reach his before he turned his palms and took Kristina’s hands in his own. He continued to move his hips in motion, keeping them in sync with Kristina’s as he slowly brought her hands down, consequently forcing himself down a bit as well. With her hands still in his, he moved her hands from her knees up her thighs and when he reached the end of her dress he cupped her hands forcing her hands to catch her dress and David continued to move her hands up, pulling her dress up as well. Then after a simple moment he opened his hands and Kristina’s hands released the dress. His hands continued to guide hers up her hips over her stomach. He had her hands linger on her chest for a moment before he guided her hands over her head and spun her around so she was facing him. His right leg moved around the behind her waist pulling her towards him. His eyes met hers for a moment and then he let his eyes wander down her as in most typical salsa dances and spun her away from him yet again, this time, keeping her left hand in his.

It was amazing how close dancing could bring two people. Kristina had met this man mere hours ago, and already she felt an intensity between them that she couldn’t explain. She attributed most of it to the music and dancing, but there was just something about David that kept her wanting more. It had been ages since she’d been so passionate about a dance, and she loved feeling that spark again. Salsa was a dance of desires, and even though she wasn’t completely dressed for the part, it didn’t stop her from playing it perfectly.
Her slender frame leaned against his, her skin warm and sensitive to any touch. When he breathed heavily on her neck, she felt herself fall into her desires. Her blood began to run hot through her veins and she felt her muscles tense…her body writhing gently against his. Anyone who knew Kristina knew he neck and ear were weak spots. He had triggered both and her eyes closed, blocking one of her senses and heightening the others. His hands slowly guided hers down her body and then back up, grabbing the bottom of her dress on the way up. She felt the fabric begin to rise and her body ached for his touch. Her thighs were almost completely visible before he guided her to release it. The fabric moved back down her legs but still remained a bit higher than from where it had originally been.
David’s hands continued to guide Kristina’s up her body. They slid across her stomach and lingered for a moment on her chest. Her heart was pounding, and her breathing was heavy. Trailing across sensitive skin, a soft breathy moan escaped her throat. Every curve ached for David’s touch, but teasing was half the fun of salsa. That was perhaps what made it so risqué.
He continued over her head and a spun her around to face him. As soon as she felt the first pull of the spin, her eyes opened and a blush appeared on her soft cheeks, but the intensity remained. As he commanded her closer, her breath caught in her throat and her hand moved to his chest. She slowly moved it up to his shoulder, before letting her fingertips brush back down. Her hips continued to move back and forth with his, her curves demanding attention. When he spun her back out, his hand stayed with her and she gently pulled him away from the wall, starting a series of tangled spins between them. They weren’t tangled in a mess, but tangled in that their hands ended up different places with each spin. On the last one, she faced him and let her hands once more run down her body, giving his own free reign. When his hands reached her neck, she dipped back quickly, and came up with a slow and seductive movement…causing her lips to settle mere inches away from his, her warm breath teasing at his skin as she tried to anticipate his next move.

She knew how to dance and she knew how to do something even more important, especially in salsa. She knew how to keep the attention of her partner. Granted her body sort of did that for her but she was very keen and able to make David pay rather close attention to her without really even having to command his body to do so. He didn’t need to tell his eyes to look at her, to tell his hands to travel on her or to have his body stay close to hers. He didn’t need to tell his body to do any of those things. She was able to make his body want to do them and in the moment, he didn’t protest. No dance lasted forever though and David’s body and mind told him that this moment wasn’t going to last he also sort of figured that with the variety of music that was played constantly, he wasn’t going to hear a similar song twice. David didn’t have any trouble following her twist, her moves as she brought him out from against the wall out into the dance floor which happened to also be the hallway. She took some initiative now and brought his hands over her body and once they reached her neck she bent her body down low and then retracted sensually, bringing herself up to David’s level. David’s right hand was on her back, keeping her balance as they became very close.
David took two steps to his left, turning her body with his. He dipped her again, bringing her up his lips nuzzled against the nape of her neck when he brought her up a second time. He stopped only long enough to smell the sweet scent of her perfume before he spun her back, her back against the opposite wall they were before and David moved to her, his hands traveling down her sides and to waist. His right hand moved down her left thigh and once he reached her knee he moved his hand to the inside of her thigh and began to move his hand up. His hips continued to move back and forth and he kept her moving as well and about half way up her thigh he grabbed firmly before releasing, turning her towards the hallway as the song came to an end. His hand moved from her leg to her back and his free hand rand down the brow of her face over her cheek swiftly in down over her soft lips. His hand didn’t stop there but continued down her neck, all in a swift motion as he turned her into the hallway until his hand reached the fabric of her dress and continued to pull it down, letting the little bit of elasticity of the fabric reveal just a bit more of Kristina. The music stopped, his hand remained for a moment, their noses practically touching, David’s eyes traveling….

Kristina was mesmerized by the man who danced before her. Even dancing with Mikel she had never felt such a pull towards him. It frightened her, yet excited her in ways she couldn’t explain. She could feel his eyes near constantly on her and it made her heart falter in its normal beating. Every time their eyes met, an overwhelming light headed feeling embraced her. It had no effect on her performance though. She was so accustomed to salsa that she was could probably dance it in her sleep. His hands traveled her burning skin causing things inside her to pull in different directions. A knot clenched in her lower abdomen and butterflies fled through her stomach. It caused her muscles to tense and her body to tremble ever so softly. It was the sort of feeling that would make toes curl. His hold on her was strong and secure, causing any hesitation of relaxation to cease existence. Her body was with his in a way that was almost as intimate as it could get, and she loved it.
Her body moved with his as he took a few steps, then he dipped her again. Her breathing was rigid as she felt his warm lips taunting her neck, making her body ache for his kiss. He drew her back close to him, and then spun her once more towards the other wall. Her back hit silently and as he moved towards her, her eyes took a moment to gaze down his body. The top button of the shirt was undone, making him look incredibly sexy…and Kristina found her hands pressed against the wall, her body writhing gently as he drew close. That was when his hands really began to explore. Her hands moved to his neck as she arched her back against the wall, her eyes closing in desire. They moved up her inner thigh and she bit at her lower lip, her leg wrapping around him and pressing her to him. He grabbed her inner thigh firmly and her entire body seemed to tense. Her heart was pounding, her blood searing through her veins. She could feel the endorphins taking hold as he turned her one last time, his hands enticing her entire frame. Her eyes closed and she inhaled deeply as his hand moved down the frame of her face and to the top of her dress, pulling it down a bit…his other hand holding her back firmly. Her hand pressed against his chest, her fingers on rim of buttons, moving down slowly as the song ended.
All she could in the moments that followed was gaze at him. She was entirely compelled by what just happened, and as their bodies remained close to each others, every part of her longed to kiss him. Adrenaline and endorphins mixed, causing her desires to fade reality. For the first time in months, her mind was at peace and all that mattered was the moment they were sharing. Her chest rose and fell steadily as she tried her hardest to calm her heartbeat, failing in every attempt. She could feel his warm breath against her lips and chills danced up her spine…her hand gripping his shirt lightly. Taking a daring move, her eyes locked with his for a moment before she moved and closed the space between their lips. Her hand then slid from his chest to his neck and she pulled him closer. Something about the moment they were in just felt right. She knew it could potentially ruin everything…but her body and mind wanted too strongly to be with him, and she was too entranced by the moment to fight it.

The music began to die down a bit and David could feel the adrenaline that was coursing through his body from the excitement of the dance beginning to die down just a bit. Dancing was one thing that came very naturally to David. It was almost as natural as his navy seal training had become but any beyond those two things were something David always had to work for. There was that moment when the two of them were so very close. David still held her in his arms and she was willingly open to him. Unfortunately David was one of those men, even as old and as grown as he was, that really had no idea what a woman like this would really want from a man like him. She pulled him close to her and their lips met for a moment. It was a simple kiss because David didn’t have the fortitude to continue. His lips pressed against hers for mere moments before he moved his hand up her back and brought her to a full standing position. Of course the kiss was pleasure and the experience they had just shared had given him some relaxation but he didn’t know really where to go from there.
David was a military man, he was a genius and he was unquestionable horrible in settings that demanded social skills. There was definitely a moment there when David didn’t really think she knew what kind of man he was. He hadn’t been trying to put on a facade of any kind for her but he was very certain she thought he was a man that knew how to handle himself in all situations and that simply wasn’t the case. He looked down at her. “I admit that I enjoyed that…” he paused, “But, I don’t think you want a man like me.” He said honestly and continued after a moment’s pause and he knew she was listening. “And I don’t think I would know what to do with a woman like you.” He looked down at her and looked into her eyes, “I don’t know what a woman like you would want, what you would need, and at most I don’t think I could give it to you. I don’t remember the last time….” He stopped…” He ran his hands to her waist, “It’s not as instinctive as that was…” he told her referring to the dance they had just partaken.

Rejection. It was something Kristina wasn’t quite used to; partially because men never said no to her and partially because she never gave her heart away to be hurt. Deep down, she knew that was why his pull away from her kiss stung so much. That dance was the first time she had let her defenses fall in months, and she had willingly become vulnerable. She knew this was the consequence of such actions…yet, she couldn’t quite come to regret it. Something about that kiss felt right, at least to her. Maybe it was one-sided and she appeared a little off balance. It was amazing how fast an atmosphere could change and Kristina suddenly felt a flood of cold enter her body. The chill reminded her of why she stayed away from men not on business. She was in a different world than them, and she was sure that was all they would see. It was her aura and her luxuries. Men were intimidated by it unless looking strictly for pleasure. Her thoughts drifted to her previous assignment and her body tensed as she thought of the man’s hands on her. It was nothing like she had just witnessed, nor was it something she enjoyed. But, something wanted that feeling of being in control back. At least when men willingly slept with her, she knew it was because she was beautiful and someone they couldn’t resist. It always gave her the upper hand, and even if she was submissive in the bedroom, she had complete control.
Her façade returned, and any evidence of falling for the man disappeared. Her eyes returned to their normal distant gaze. As he spoke, she looked away. A woman like her? It was funny how men thought like that. A woman like her was no different than a woman down the street. Sure, Kristina had luxuries and designer clothes, but when it came down to it…she was looking for what every other woman out there was: simple, genuine love. That wasn’t something he would understand though nor would he agree to. He had a preset vision of what she was like based off of her clothes and the place she called home. As he spoke those words, she knew it was a false hope from the start. “It’s not as complicated as you might think.” Kristina spoke, her words soft yet somehow blocking any hint of emotion behind them. “But, I understand.” She straightened herself up, pulling away from his embrace gently. A soft sting pierced her heart, but she ignored it. “Forgive me. I wasn't thinking.” Was all she spoke before offering him a small smile.
Glancing up at the clock in the hallway, she realized it was nearly eleven o’clock and she turned back to David. “Is there anything else I can get you before we retire for the evening?” She asked, hating the thought of sleeping alone. Truth be told, she wouldn’t sleep for another couple hours, but she was sure he was tired from the stress of earlier. All she wanted was be on her balcony, gazing at the stars in her gown as the wind blew gently. That probably wouldn’t happen unless the rain had ceased, and she doubted it had. Keeping her friendly shield up, she looked to him, awaiting his answer.

It was so much of a matter of rejection as it was a matter of David not being mentally prepared. He let her grow from his grasp when he sensed her pulling away from him and he let her go. He sighed. Of course he couldn’t just let his body take over and let his hormones just do what they wanted for one night. No, he had to be social awkward again. She didn’t have to tell him that she was surprised and slightly hurt by his actions. David was smart and could figure that out on his own. David hated that more than anything. She had been such a good host to him and, inadvertently or not, he had betrayed her trust and led her on. She probably thought he wasn’t interested in her which was not the case. David just had no idea how to express anything and he never head. This whole night had done well to thoroughly confuse him and he was simply surprised more than anything that Kristina would have an interest in him. There were also a couple of flags that went up with being in a new place and everything but from what he had seen he didn’t really have a good reason not to trust her. After all it had been quite some time since he had really had any contact with a woman besides his sister. His sister did keep telling him he needed to get out more.
David saw her look at the clock and he knew what she was implying but he wasn’t necessarily ready to go to bed. Dancing had definitely awoken him. David looked at her and ran his hands through his hair. “It’s very hard to explain Kristina.” David said trying to figure out how he wanted to put his awkwardness into words. It wasn’t so much that he had a love or overwhelming passion for this woman. He did not believe in love at first sight; that was simply not the case in any regard. That was simply for fairy tales. He did sense the fact that she lonely. It wasn’t all that uncommon for a woman with so much to be so alone and need someone’s comfort. David didn’t want to go outside his comfort box and well his comfort box was pretty darn small so any steps forward was outside. David took a step closer to Kristina and put his hands on her arms. He took a deep breath. “I really have no idea what I’m doing right now. Not in the sense of where I am or why I’m here or anything like that but in the sense that I have no idea how I would handle you….” Well that just felt awkward to say finally. David closed his eyes and pulled Kristina just a bit closer to him. “Teach me.” David asked as he kicked his comfort box down the stairs and out the front door.

When David ignored her question and reference to turning in for the night, she exhaled lightly. Of course he wouldn’t be tired. It was just as she was not tired. Adrenaline and endorphins had a reputation of waking one up before putting them to sleep. That was entirely the case and for a moment, Kristina mentally cursed at the dance that had taken place. Of course it would make things awkward. Such energy and sensual tension between the two had intertwined with reality, and Kristina simply didn’t know what to do. Retiring for the night obviously wasn’t an option, so instead she leaned against the wall, her eyes on the red carpet below them. The relaxation from the dancing had worn off and her mind was once more flooded with thoughts and questions. Why was she even bothering? Love was just an illusion of the mind. At least, that’s what she kept telling herself. Every fiber of her being wanted to believe in happy endings and fairytale, but she knew better. She had been working for Mikel undercover for years, and she was sure that was where she would be the better portion of her life, if not all of it. It wouldn't be a bad life by any means. She would continue to be stationed around the world, traveling until her heart was content, but she wouldn’t be happy…
Her hands were against the wall as his words filled the hall. In reality, she didn’t know what to think. She knew nothing of the man. What had he meant by she wouldn’t want a man like him. What kind of a man was he exactly? She knew there was something off about him, but she couldn’t quite figure out what. In either sense, it wasn’t her place to judge.
Letting her eyes finally meet his, she saw him taking a few steps forward, closing the space between them. His warm hands fell on her arms and they were a nice change from the cold that had previously occupied them. Her heart was once more starting to speed up, but she tried her hardest to ignore it. Her fox was now cautious around the man, and as he closed the remaining space between them again, her fox began to grow anxious. It was a metaphysical resemblance of what Kristina was feeling. Her mind was racing and she was unsure of what to do. Did she simply push the man away and avoid desire and heartbreak? Or did she make herself vulnerable again? “Be yourself.” Was all she spoke as she looked up at him. “That’s all I’d ever want.” Her hands moved to his and she smiled lightly. “You don’t have to do this.” She spoke, referring to him trying to understand her. “We come from two different worlds. I fully understand your hesitation.” She spoke, her defenses slowly building back up. Did she really want to push him away? No. But, somehow she felt she had no choice.

There was no denying that David and Kristina came from two totally different worlds. He would probably be the first person to admit that fact. David lived in a small home, making ends meet for not only himself but for his sister and his children. David had never needed to children of his own because he had always taken care of the ones his sister had. Kristina lived a life of luxury, a life, that if she chose, she would never have to work again. She seemed to have more money and things that he and probably she, would ever know what to do with. David had never really had a great longing for expensive things and people that waited on him hand and foot but he wasn’t going to deny that he was intrigued by the prospect. She took his hands in his and he squeezed her hand gently for reassurance. She told him to be himself and that was what she really wanted. He wasn’t quite sure she understood what he was trying to tell her. Obviously she could get along fairly decently with his personality or he would have driven her up a wall already but it was more of him not knowing how to “be with a woman.” That was what concerned him. David hadn’t been with one since about twenty years when he was in college and that turned out to be a one night thing for precisely the reason he never was with another one again. He didn’t have a clue…
David smiled and looked down for a moment, not really sure what to say to get her to understand. Seeing as how he had already kicked his comfort box down the stairs already he figured he mine as well sort of tell her what he was thinking. “I think…I think you would be very disappointed with my performance as all. I may have indirectly allured you into thinking I knew what I was doing when I was dancing and whereas I know how to do that, anything too far beyond..I…am simply not a very experienced person. I feel as though you would be a woman that knows a lot and knows what she wants and I know you told me that you just want me to be myself but I’m not entirely sure it would be enough.” He started to chuckle a little bit as he released her hands from his own. He shook his head, “To be honest I wouldn’t even know how to start the mood!” He exclaimed, “I mean apart from dancing which apparently does but beyond that I haven’t the foggiest idea.” He chuckled. He took a deep breath and let his body relax a bit. “There I said it I think. Do you understand now? If not at least understand I’d need a lot of help.” David concluded.

Kristina knew exactly what he meant when he spoke of being unsure about how to handle her. A part of her was trying to avoid the subject to keep awkwardness at a minimum. He squeezed her hands in reassurance and she inhaled a bit before sighing softly. His confidence in himself with a woman was extremely low, she could tell that. She didn’t understand why though. He was incredibly handsome, and he seemed to have a passion behind his eyes once the mood was set right. Even if dancing was all that could set the mood for a while, Kristina didn’t mind. She was content feeling his touch or his kiss. He then laughed softly and released her hands. They fell to her side gently and she pondered for a moment what to say or do. She wanted more than anything to just step forward and tell him to ‘shh’ but she wasn’t quite sure it would be appropriate. After all, what did she really know about this guy? Maybe it was best that she wouldn’t be sharing a bed with him tonight. She was sure it would save her a lot of hurt and humiliation. The last thing she wanted was to seem desperate. Desperation never benefitted a woman’s pride.
As he concluded his sentence, she smiled lightly. In shorter words, he was trying to say he was inexperienced. That didn’t bother Kristina at all…in fact; it changed things up a bit. She longed to move closer to him but she grew afraid she would seem too forward. After all, she had only met the man a couple hours ago…and she wanted to sleep with him? It wasn’t really unusual, but she still felt a little hesitant. Biting at her lower lip, she closed the space between them a bit and looked up at him…her hand moving to play with the buttons on his shirt. Her eyes caught his in a soft gaze. From what he had spoken before, he wanted her to teach him, and she would try her best. Finally settling in front of him, she pressed her finger against his lips. “Shh…” She spoke with a warm smile before letting her finger trail down, undoing one more button on his shirt before moving to his hand. She took hold of it gently and guided him into her room. She closed the door and leaned against it...pulling him a little closer by his shirt. “Kiss me…” She whispered, her eyes meeting his as she guided his hands to her waist. She didn’t mind taking a somewhat dominant role in the bedroom every once in a while. It spiced things up and gave her a chance to have a little fun. She just hoped he wouldn’t be too alarmed by her sudden advance.
